Stop Damp....now Damp Stop

Stop Damp....now Damp Stop - still the same issues. Poor production knowledge (blaming the manufacturer, the weather, the condition of the wall???). They are so desperate to secure the business that they set unrealistic time scales - 2-3 days has become 2-3 months. I am still waiting 3-4 weeks for the plaster to fully set.
The 'family' company use their personal circumstances as a reason to request earlier part payment then lie about it.
No integrity, no expert product knowledge and certainly no communication unless they are demanding immediate payment. Prepared to be shouted at though... at no extra charge!

Paid for work but it didn't need doing in the end. Took 1 year to get money back off Richard White.
The guarantee counts for nothing. Gone into liquidation 3 times (see government website)
Don't be fooled by the glowing website.
Had to involve solicitors & courts. Be warned!

VERY disappointed with the service…

VERY disappointed with the service provided. Do NOT trust this company.

Stopdamp was arranged to treat damp in my living room by the property management company I use. The damp was treated in January 2016 by chemical injection costing 400 pounds, The contractor, Mr White told me he had a standard 20 year guarantee however I also paid Stopdamp 50 pounds for an insurance backed guarantee (which I presumed would be sent directly to my property management agency). 18 months later the damp had returned on the chimney breast, corner of the living room and under a window - the main areas originally treated. Mr White agreed the chimney breast needed 'a second treatment' but said the other areas he had treated were 'in good order' - he then stated he had found more 'rising damp' on a different wall that he could treat at a 'discounted price' I refused. Knowing that damp was clearly present in the areas of the living room he had originally treated I decided I could not trust his appraisal and arranged an independent damp survey. This survey forund considerable damp had reocurred in the areas he had treated and that the 'rising damp' he had found on a different wall was actually condensation damp. I challenged him that as the work he had done was under insurance backed guarantee he was obliged to redo ALL the areas where the damp had reocurred. I contacted my lettings agent to provide me with the guarantee it turned out they had never received a copy of the guarantee I had paid for, I brought this up with the contractor who also could not provide a copy of the guarantee I had paid for or even provide any proof that he had paid for a guarantee or the name and address of the insurance company he had arranged it with.
I have now had 3 different damp proofing contractors give estimates for treating the damp that is in the house all came up with quotes of around 800 pounds.
Mr White has refused to return my emails or refund me for the poor work he has done and the non existent guarantee I have paid for. He can not even provide me with his qualifications as a damp proofing contractor. Use Stopdamp at your own risk

Ordered 10 litre tub of Storm Dry … got about 9

Ordered 10 litre tub of Storm Dry Masonry Protection Cream. Got two 5l tubs. Badly packed with Manufacturer's seals removed and replaced with brown parcel tape. Supplier said this was to prevent leakage in transit. The tubs were underweight at about 9lb 7oz and 9lb 3oz instead of the correct weight of 10lb 4ozs each ... (obviously including 12oz for the weight of the 5l tub and lid). Supplier asked me what I was implying. They denied any responsibility for the underweight. Sent the tubs back to Stopdamp via paypal "Not as described" route and received full refund.
Draw you own conclusion! I will never deal with this supplier again. About 10% underweight meant a loss to me of approx £20. NOT ON!

Above data about weights obtained by checking against two other suppliers of 5l tubs that were well packed, hadn't leaked, and hadn't had the manufacturer's seals removed before delivery!
