Be very careful not to over order from this company
Please, please, be very careful not to over order from this company. We bought the amount of tiles our builder advised, but have many left over. Having supplied the batch code information as requested, The Stone and Tile Company have told us 'I have checked the batches and unfortunately, we are no longer on either batch, so on this occasion we wouldn't be able to accept a return I am afraid. We do know customers in the past have had a lot of success selling excess packs on private selling pages , such as Facebook Marketplace etc.'
We have been left considerably out of pocket and have little space where our tiles can be stored. Such a shame as we had been happy with this company.

As outlined in our Terms & Conditions, we are unable to accept returns of leftover products due to our continual low pricing and rapid stock turnover. We also recommend that customers retain any surplus tiles, as they are from the same production batch and can be invaluable should any tiles become damaged or require replacement in the future.
We would like to clarify that, on this occasion, we did not provide an estimate or recommendation for the quantity of tiles to purchase. The quantity ordered appears to have been based on your builder's estimation, and unfortunately, it seems this calculation resulted in more tiles being ordered than were ultimately required.
That said, despite this policy, we did take the time to investigate whether we could make an exception and accept a partial return. Unfortunately, after checking your batch numbers, we found that we are no longer selling either batch you received. This means we would be unable to resell the returned tiles, making them unsuitable for return.
We appreciate that this is not the outcome you were hoping for and understand your frustration. However, this policy is clearly detailed within our Terms & Conditions, which are agreed to at the time of purchase. We also suggested selling the unopened surplus packs privately, as many customers have successfully done in the past through platforms such as Facebook Marketplace.
We are naturally disappointed that, despite our team taking the time to investigate a goodwill exception to our returns policy, our overall service has been reflected in a one-star review due to an issue that arose from an overestimation of quantities rather than the quality of our products or service.

Stone tile packed a damaged tile in the middle of a pallet
I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with The Stone & Tile Company. My order arrived with a damaged tile, and despite providing photos and contacting customer service promptly, I’ve had no meaningful resolution. It is particularly galling as the damaged tile was in the middle of a fully wrapped pallet, so had clearly been damaged before being sent out.
I expect a company selling fragile, heavy goods to have reliable packaging, quality checks, and a straightforward process for replacing damaged items. At the moment, none of that has been reflected in my experience. Instead, they say their policy is to refuse to replace or refund damaged tiles unless more than 5% of the delivery is damaged
I’m requesting immediate action to resolve this issue — specifically, a replacement or a full refund. I hope the company will address this promptly, as the current situation is unacceptable.
