Excellent product & customer support

Bought a mid sleeper for my son from Stompa, including their delivery and assembly service. Communication was excellent through, assembly team did a good job, the product is great - as advertised, sturdy, high quality and my son loves it.
Besides that there is also excellent client support.
After a few months, a slat broke - I reached out to Stompa support expecting to pay for a replacement. Instead, Jamie from Stompa replied nearly immediately, didn’t ask any questions and just sent me a new slat which arrived after 3 days. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Stompa single mattress after 1 year…

Stompa single mattress after 1 year used started appear cracks in top surface. After another 6 months spring coils become visible. Send email to Stompa with photos to sort this out as it under warranty and got answer if you want replacement you should pay by new from us and we do 50% discount. That’s wrong and I can tell mattress don’t last more then 1 and half of normal use.

Very poor quality mattress

I ordered two Stompa single mattresses for my children after reading about the brand’s awards and positive reviews, but I’m extremely disappointed and concerned about their safety.

Both mattresses had a very strong chemical odour right after unpacking. We left them to ventilate in a separate room for three full days, yet the smell persisted and even transferred to our bedding just by touching them. My younger child began sneezing non-stop whenever he went near the mattresses, which made them completely unusable.

I contacted Stompa’s customer service immediately to request collection and a refund, explaining the health concerns and the intensity of the smell. Several days have passed and I still haven’t received any response.

It’s unacceptable that mattresses intended for children would emit such strong chemical fumes, and even more disappointing that customer service has ignored multiple messages. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Stompa and urge other parents to be cautious before purchasing.

Rolled foam mattresses can occasionally emit a noticeable odour when first unpacked. This is a normal result of the manufacturing and packaging process, and we can confirm it is entirely non-toxic and typically disperses within a few days. We’ve sold thousands of these mattresses and while most arrive odour-free, some may have a stronger initial scent than others.

Please be assured our mattresses are produced specifically for children and contain no additional chemicals whatsoever. Our polyurethane foams are CertiPUR approved and our polyester fabrics are obtained from OEKO-TEX STeP certified suppliers.

That said, we take your concerns seriously. We understand how unsettling it can be to receive a product with a strong odour, especially when it affects your children’s comfort.

We understand that you initially made contact over the weekend when our office was closed and that our colleague Jamie has since arranged collection.

This is our second Stompa Bed

This is our second Stompa Bed, the first one was a Mid Sleeper for my son in 2023 and we now have the classic high sleeper with a pink chair bed for our 6 year old daughter, she absolutely loves it. We also ordered the Airflow Pocket mattress and she is sleeping through the night and finds it really comfy. We paid extra again to have the bed assembled and can tell you this is well worth the money also I can see the guarantee is now 10 years. Peter and the guy who assembled the bed were very polite and took away all packaging.
Would have no hesitation buying again.

Excellent Product, Poor Assembly Experience

Classic Grey High Sleeper with Integrated Desk and Shelving and Blue Chair Bed.

The bed itself is outstanding - the build quality is excellent and it looks fantastic once assembled. However, the assembly process was extremely frustrating and significantly detracted from an otherwise great purchase.

The main issues were with the instructions and preparation:

* None of the wooden parts are numbered or labeled, turning assembly into a guessing game.

* Instructions rely heavily on unclear pictures with minimal written guidance.

* I had to disassemble and reassemble sections multiple times due to confusing directions.

* Three wooden pieces were missing pre-drilled holes, requiring me to drill them myself
.

The assembly experience was so poor that it overshadowed what is otherwise a high-quality product. With better instructions and proper quality control, this would easily be a 5-star purchase. As it stands, the excellent final product is let down by a needlessly difficult assembly process.

Avoid stompa!

Really hard to get in touch and get a delivery....you dont pick a slot - you are told when they can deliver by text (that you cannot engage with, only accept or decline the slot). If you cannot make the slot...though...you have to wait another week or so for THEM to let you know when THEY can provide the service you paid for...

Upon receival the boxes were left at the front and I carried them inside...2 of them very heavy. I can manage, but if it was my partner at home she would have struggle. No offer to move the boxes to where I wanted

Seems like the customer is a great incovinience and need to move heaven and earth to accommodate the business...think this is the wrong way about it but what to I know?

To end things up - the fitting bag had half of the fittings missing so now I have to wait for further contact...wouldn't be surprised if they asked me to go to their depo to pick these up.

Genuinely concerned on how the quality will be once assembled as so far this has been the worst experience at every stage.

Avoid!

Not white?

The bunks were sold as white but I would descibe them as beige. They looked really drab against cream walls and the other furniture which is white. The screw caps are white so just emphasised the colour difference. We have had to paint them white - hassle and cost. Stompa insist they are white even though I had sent them pictures showing how marked the contrast is when I painted them.

Parents looking for bunk beds? Look no further than this review...

I spent a lengthy amount of time researching bunk beds for my 4 and 2 year old girls who share a room. Honestly, the whole process was giving me a headache. So if you're a parent wanting an honest review cos you wanna find some yourself - look no further, here I am...

Firstly I wanted bunks that were solid. I often dreamt about that step brothers scene, worried my oldest would wake up on top of my youngest - the horrors. I'd seen a few in the shops and the moment I lay on them, they crumbled (and I'm not weighty before you ask...)
Secondly, as my youngest was strongly attached to my own mattress (and my face) every night, I wanted her to have her own proper mattress and not these napkin-imitating kids ones you find these days.

Months of research later, I ended up on the Stompa website. Not loads online in terms of reviews etc. Are sold through some other suppliers too. They were quite responsive on social media after I sent a few cheeky instagram messages asking questions, so that was good.

Took the plunge and ordered their classic originals bunk with two drawers underneath. This was mainly because the top bunk would allow me to whack a 20cm PROPER mattress on it, still having a high enough side so my 4 year old doesn't roll out.

(Disclaimer, it says everywhere and even stickered to the bed you should be 6 before sleeping on the top bunk. I have a mature 4 year old used to sleeping on a top bunk of a caravan. She literally cannot fall out of this, and hasn't).

Yes the mattress is heavy, but the bunk proudly takes the weight no issues (it's a Dunelm one). But do note that in order to change the bedding on the top bunk, you'll have to have experience of some SAS training because I need a lie down on it after I'm done. And if you have your nails done, don't bother.

It's a study piece of kit. Quite impressed with how solid it is. We've had it a good few weeks and it's still giving off that nice fresh wood smell (which I often whiff because my youngest still ends up next to me after an hour or two) but it says something that she will now sleep alone a lot longer than she used to. And she's even slept in her own bed through the night ONCE, so she must be comfortable.

Ladder slats are flat, not round. Never understand why people have 'rung' ladders for slippy feet. My 2 year old can climb it with ease, despite being told not to and now I can't leave them alone in their room unattended - but it's the price I'm willing to pay for more space.

Advice to Stompa, get some proper images on your website after people have bought them. When reviewing and researching, I like to see what they look like in someone's room, not a design mock up from adobe, or AI. It looks computer generated and that's no good to us. Real pics are better.

Four stars, mainly because the delivery company you use isn't great. Yeah I got my bed (eventually) on the day they did say they'd deliver. But they were really late, to the point where I thought we wouldn't be getting it, no one ever answered the phone all day. Emailed me back once but then were never heard of again. And the delivery guys told me I should have been contacted to say they were running late, which I wasn't. That company need a few lessons in customer service.

Overall though, solid bunks. Kids are happy, meaning I'm happy.

Wrote a lengthy in depth review…

Wrote a lengthy in depth review previously with all the pros and cons- but has not been published on the stompa website probably because I had given 3 stars. Hmmm seems like they only publish 5 star reviews as comments are moderated. So posting my experience here to help others after having read all the other reviews on here also. I have noted the positive reviews seem to be prior to 2025- and I feel since then maybe they changed the quality of the products they use as my item arrived with bits of paint flaking in many places and most of the pieces seemed to be wrapped in vinyl rather than actual wood as claimed on the website and the initial selling point that I trusted. Instructions were terrible! Like the worst ever! Nothing labeled and drawings do not accurately match parts. Bed feels unstable for the price point it is marketed at, honestly not too happy with the quality. Don’t think it will last long- used by a petite 7 year old.
Delivery was ok- left in porch- arrived earlier (just over a week) than they had initially scheduled- which is usually a 2-3 weeks wait.
Ordered a stompa mattress also- so far it seems ok- we did let it air for 72 hours prior to putting it on the bed which did help.
Bookcase is completely separate from the bed and does not screw into it just freestanding, desk is extremely heavy for the unstable bed frame that it screws into- definitely a design flaw- as any weight on the desk will cause something to crack or break- will monitor this. There needs to be further support and stabilisation for the bed- definitely not a bed made to last especially considering the price. Took quite a while to put together- you’ll definitely need a drill!
Will be emailing Stompa with these concerns and see what response I get back 🤞

I contacted StomStompa’s Lack of Support and Jade Home Assembly’s Unacceptable Delivery Servicepa on Wednesday

I contacted Stompa on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 1:50 PM regarding the bunk beds my parents purchased from John Lewis in High Wycombe. Their customer service team acknowledged the ongoing delivery issues and assured me they were looking into it. However, despite this, they never followed up or provided any resolution. This lack of communication was extremely frustrating, as we were left in the dark with no support from the brand itself.

Jade Home Assembly’s Repeated Failures

The delivery was scheduled for Monday, February 17, but the driver falsely claimed to have waited outside for 20 minutes. CCTV footage proves otherwise—he was only there for one minute before leaving without attempting to deliver the bunk bed.

The driver later made a single attempt to call my dad, but the call lasted just one second before disconnecting. No real effort was made to reach us. Despite clear evidence, Jade Home Assembly insisted the driver had waited the full 20 minutes, which was simply not true.

Unreliable Scheduling and Cancellations

After my parents visited John Lewis in High Wycombe to try and resolve the issue, Jade Home Assembly finally confirmed a new delivery for Friday, February 21. However, on the very same day, they canceled the delivery via SMS without providing any reason.

A third attempt was scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, in the morning—but once again, no delivery took place.

Disappointing Customer Experience

This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating. We expected Stompa, as the manufacturer, to step in and help resolve these ongoing issues, but they failed to do so. Meanwhile, Jade Home Assembly’s poor service, false claims, and unprofessional behavior have caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience for my family.

If you’re considering purchasing a Stompa bunk bed, be cautious—because if any issues arise, don’t expect proper support from either Stompa or their delivery service.

Stompa Highsleeper Bed - Highly Recommend

I recently purchased the Stompa highsleeper bed with integrated desk, and I couldn't be happier with the entire experience!

200cm mattress is actually 192cm!!!

I bought a high sleeper and a pocket-sprung mattress from Stompa, my first purchase with them.

The problem: the mattress they sent is 192cm long, despite having come wrapped in a box that stated the mattress was 200cm long. Their high sleeper requires a 200cm long mattress - it is a shame I can't upload the pictures here for the benefit of other consumers. Their customer service told me that I must vigorously shake the mattress and it will grow - if you are laughing, so did I.

This is a laughable company. Indeed, very funny guys. Do I recommend them? God no, go to West End and spend your money with professional comedians.

I will be unfortunately sending their mattress back to them with my own money and requesting a full refund, as it is my customer right protected by law.

Our mattresses are delivered rolled and vacuum-sealed. While they usually regain their full size within just a few hours, in some cases it may take longer depending on how long they’ve remained in their packaging.

With your mattress currently measuring 192cm, it appears that the correct size was delivered. The shorter variant would no measure longer than 190cm in length. Additionally, the photos you have provided suggest that the mattress has not yet fully expanded after being unrolled.

Occasionally, the individual pocket springs can get caught during the rolling process, which may slow down the mattress’s recovery. However, through regular use, the springs typically free themselves.

Please be assured that we do have many years of experience and have seen this occur before. We have recommended to give the mattress a vigorous shake from either end, which can help to separate the individual pocket springs and promote full expansion. Please keep in mind that it may take another day or two for this process to complete.

If there is no further improvement over the next few days then please do not hesitate to get back in contact and we will of course be able to provide a replacement.
