St George's.....A wonderful experience
On a planned visit to North Wales where we were unsure as to whether to stay over for second day or go home, we had decided at last minute to stay over. We had the idea of going on a trusted and well used website to get a last minute bargain, we'd packed overnight bag just in case.
I booked a reasonably priced hotel in Llandudno going off reviews and pics. Worst idea ever. 🤦🏻♀️
On arrival it took one glance to decide we weren't going to stay there! However, we needed somewhere else.
Already in the area, so partner popped in to this rather splendid and prestigious looking hotel St George's, on the off chance that they had a room for us (me feeling totally underdressed in jeans and sandals)
After explaining the fiasco of booking the local dump by mistake, they were wonderful, not at all judgemental of my casual appearance and gave my partner a good price on a lovely room.
After freshening up we had a drink in the bar which was very nice, good service and reasonable prices considering the hotel.
The bedroom, front facing, was a large double with very spacious bathroom. Lovely Elemis bathroom toiletries, large, soft bath sheets and I'm sure underfloor heating.
After good night's sleep in comfortable bed we ventured down for breakfast. We took a wrong turn into the restaurant where Dinner was being served the night before, before being led by a chatty and helpful member of staff into the right dining room for Breakfast.
The service and food was second to none! Staff efficient and attentive , just lovely.
Breakfast was literally anything:
A continental offering spread over a huge centre island, and a chef/staff served buffet where a full Welsh Breakfast was available. In addition, table waiting staff were on hand to take kitchen orders for anything from kippers to Eggs Benedict!
Breakfast room was a beautiful ball room size with lots of room between tables. Clean and airy with décor comprising of opulent chandeliers and intricate ceiling mouldings throwing us back to something you'd see in the "King & I" or the more recent "The Crown"
The staff were just wonderful (considering we looked like some overage dropouts in comparison to the rest of the hotel guests), check out was painless and staff again, genuinely helpful.
We would definitely book to stay there again, naturally with a little more notice and planning.
