Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service from Steve at Stewart Longton caravans. He was very professional, explaining the check process during the sale of our caravan to the company. The price agreed on the phone was paid. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a vehicle from Stewart Longton’s in the future.

Super Service

We recently purchased a caravan from Stewart Longton. The service we received was fantastic, staff at every level were helpful, informative and nothing was too much trouble. Over 30 years we have purchased caravans from many dealers in the north west, I have to say this company are in my opinion one of the best. Thank you

I wish there were zero stars as that is what they would get. I enquired 4 times about a caravan via email and phone and no one got back to me. Dreadful customer service. It's as if they were holding the caravan for someone else

Absolute disgrace of a company

Absolute disgrace of a company - any faults you reports under warranty they fail to order the parts required and just fob you off -they lie to you telling you parts you can easily find online don’t exist , they order parts you request additionally at over £1K then tell you they can’t fit them but they’ll find someone who can -may be next month maybe not -they tell you broken essential safety parts (seatbelt clips) don’t exist ….and that is the extent of their so called professional services -spent £65 K and I’ll be asking for a refund -AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE these are a bunch of cowboys

Excellent experience with the service…

Excellent experience with the service department. The panoramic window in our caravan cracked and was allowing water ingress. Katie arranged for us to take it to have a temporary repair the day after despite them being extremely busy with other work. Paul and Chris very helpful and the work was done quickly. Now waiting for the warranty to have the full repair done by themselves. Thanks Anne and Geoff Mort.

Lacking customer service

Good morning
This is by no means an attack, and I'm sure you have satisfied customers too. I am merely going on the experience we had with the problems we had. I understand things can happen and go wrong, but your customer service was not good. Staff were rude and came across as if we were a burden to you. Customer service should be top notch anywhere, and it wasn't at Stewart Longton.

Fake review in addition to the 4 previous by the same customer.

Dear Mrs Price, You are entitled to leave a review of your experience but leaving multiple reviews from friends/ family that have never dealt with us is an attack on the company.

The fact of the matter is that you had zero issues with the vehicle for 2 years by your own admission. The first time you experienced a problem we were only happy to get these issues rectified for you. The problems arose because you own a touring caravan but cant tow it which as per your sales order form that you signed as well as in your hand book it explains that all warranty issues must be address at your supplying dealership at their repair centres. This was a problem for you because you don't tow. You then wanted to leave the caravan with us for an undetermined amount of time which again we cant accommodate for any customer due to the size of our forecourt. this again was an issue for you an issue you. The repair procedure when dealing with water ingress is that the vehicle needs to be inspected by ourselves so we can order the correct parts from the factory for the repair. As this can take 6-12 weeks depending on parts we advise customers that they can continue to use the vehicle as normal until the parts are back in then when convenient for them to bring it back we can get the caravan booked in for a repair. We feel offering this to you is us standing by our responsibility to you as our customer. I can assure you that our staff would not be rude as they are here to help sort your issues.

Terrible service

Terrible service and terrible
Company. Avoid at all costs. Damaged my caravan whilst in their possession. I bought van to be able to go away and relax after being diagnosed with a serious illness but relax is the opposite to what I have had to do since I bought it off these jokers. Will not come
To me when I need a repair, have to sort out and drive myself and van to them. Not good when I am seriously unwell. They take your cash and then you’re on your own. Seriously don’t bother. Use another dealership. Oh and they stole some items from it.

I know a few people in my club with similar experiences from
These and so will get them to leave a fair review too shortly :)

FAKE REVIEW. THIS PERSON HAS NEVER PURCHASED A VAN FROM US OR HAD ANY DEALING WITH OUR COMPANY.

We have already replied to the genuine customer who purchased the van which is the review below. They purchased the caravan 2 years ago and had absolutely no issues in that time with us. The caravan had a boiler leak which we were happy to repair under warranty once inspected by ourselves however they were not willing to tow a TOURING caravan back to the dealership they purchased from. This is a specific term in the manufacturers hand book and the contract of sale when they purchase from us that the vehicle needs to come back to our site for any repair work should it be needed which the customer signed and agreed to.

Whilst it was in we also detected that there was frost damage damage which we offered to repair whilst it was in with us.

This is a completely FAKE bad review which seems they are now going on an attack with friends and family members to lower our review score.

I myself did not purchase a caravan…

I myself did not purchase a caravan from stewart longton, my daughter did. It was a beautiful van but the customer care and services she recieved were not good. I was with her when she bought the van, and with her when we had to take it back. I do remember that the team were very unfriendly and seemed rather put out. We were kept waiting around for a while also. We had to drive around 90 miles to take the caravan back to them for repair costing a substantial amount in fuel. This is not good customer service considering we paid a lot of money for a brand new caravan that should not have had issues in the first place. In my opinion if you purchase a van from them or anywhere else and are not happy, or it has issues, they should come to you. After all you are giving them a substantial amount of money, and so in return you should not have the hassle of taking the caravan back to them. They should go out of their way and come to you.

Fine until they had our money

Fine until they had our money. We purchased the caravan at the caravan show at the NEC. We were their only customers over the whole weekend. We purchased the caravan with no issues. However, a couple of years later we found that the caravan had a leak. We took the caravan back to them for repairs. It was found that the boiler had a leak. They told us that we would have to take the caravan to pay for a damp test despite the caravan being practically brand new and despite us having the service report which was uploaded to the swift data base which clearly stated there was an issue and excatly where it was. They then told us that the caravan would have to be took back to them yet again for the repair work. We asked if the caravan could stay there rather than taking it back and they said no. They knew that our caravan is on a seasonal pitch and that taking it just for a damp test was a huge inconvenience which incurred alot of cost. Whilst it was there for repairs they told us that the shower was leaking because we hadn't drained down. We HAD drained down. They asked us if we wanted them to fix it and given their appalling customer service, and given the fact that we knew we had drained down, we said no as we did not trust them. They then asked 'well do you want us to plug it, it will only cost a few quid'. We agreed for them to plug it. When we came to collect the caravan they charged us 70 pounds. When we had our usual man out to service the caravan recently, he looked at the shower and said that whoever plugged it had deliberately seized on the screw making it impossible for someone to fix it without it going to a workshop. In other words back to the dealership again which they knew was a huge inconvenience for us. Whilst the caravan was there, we left a new Sony blu-ray player in the caravan which also went missing. The service is so bad and untrustworthy that we refuse to take the caravan back to them to fix the shower issue. When trying to arrange a date and time to take the caravan for repairs, we were given dates which were a lengthy time away, and dates shich they knew I couldnt do due to work. They were deliberately making it awkward. They were rude and once they have your money they aren't interested. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We are reporting the issues we have had to trading standards and I am in the process of writing to the express and star. Also upon reading other reviews, we had the same issue with part exchanging our old caravan. When purchased the caravan, we part exchanged our old one. When it came to the day ro collect our new caravan, they then said there was damp which knocked 600 pounds off the value. So we ended up paying 600 pound more. I writw this review in the hope that nobody else has to experience what we have.

Dear Leigh, I'm sorry to hear you are not happy with your experience with Stewart Longton's. Firstly i can assure you that you were not our only customer at the NEC caravan show. We sell between 20 -40 caravans a week at the NEC shows so I'm not sure what you are aiming to speculate with this.

Its good to hear that you have had 2 years of no issues with your caravan since you purchased the caravan from us.

The reason we have to charge you for a damp report is because we categorically do not work to other engineers damp reports which you chose to get done by an independent engineer. we do not know if what he has put down on the report is accurate and we would not book you in for a repair having never inspected the vehicle ourselves. This is a widely universal practice with any dealer or repair centre.

We are also not a storage yard and have very limited space on the forecourt which is just large enough for our retail vans and vans in for service and repair that week. This is why you could not leave the van with us as once inspected the repair work would not be for quite a number of weeks whilst we wait for the relevant parts to arrive from the factory. The caravan is a touring caravan and the warranty and inspections must be carried out at the dealerships. We recall that you didn't have a tow vehicle and that you use the caravan as a sited van however that doesn't change the square footage of our yard to accommodate free storage for a number of weeks or potentially months. Although an inconvenience to you this is how touring caravans are designed to be used which we can't help that you don't have a tow vehicle for a touring caravan.

Whilst in we detected frost damage in the shower. This can only be caused by not effectively draining down your caravan before being put into winter storage. Even if you drain down the caravan via the drain valve this doesn't guarantee that all the water can escape from the elbow joints. There are 12v pump drain down kits available online to help remove this water from the van even once drained via the valve.

We have absolutely not caused any damage to your vehicle to force you to come back to site. We aim to keep warranty work to a minimum so we can look after customers as quickly as possible when the unfortunate situation of something going wrong arises.

We offered to cap off the shower so it would not leak further and allow you to use the rest of your water systems through the van. You agreed and the parts including labour came to roughly £65.

This is the first time you have mentioned a Blu ray player going missing and we have never been accused of property going missing before.

Your part exchange if found to have water ingress readings would absolutely be adjusted for the cost of the repair. The issue would have been shown to you on a damp meter. Considering damp repair costs can be anything up to £5000 it sounds like your issue was not severe but still needed remedial work carrying out. This is no different than telling a car dealer your part exchange car is immaculate and turning up with damage to the bumper. Nothing untoward was done here other than covering the cost of the repair to the damage of your vehicle that you didn't tell us about.

I'm sorry that you were not happy to hear that our dealer forecourt was not large enough for you to store your caravan with us or that we found frost damage in the van when on site but I feel it is harsh to leave us such a bad review since you had 2 years of no issues.

First time buyers

First time buyers. Went Stewart Longton, Standish
Met Graham, he helped us sort out our towing capacity, talked us through options and even though we were looking at the cheapest of thier stock he was happy to help. No pressure, we were left to look round a few in our price range. Did everything they said by collecting and a bit more besides. Can’t thank him enough

We bought a Ford Campervan in September…

We bought a Ford Campervan in September 22. Very accommodating until they had our money and our caravan. No after sales care what so ever. In 14 months we haven't received any information regarding the services due. We went into the Chorley branch on Saturday.....what a waste of time that was. I started to ask about the service only to be ignored as another couple come in who obviously wanted to buy. We then asked about a part exchange on a Motor Home. sunday we had a phone call saying that they didn't want our Campervan......Err the one we bought off them brand new 14 months ago.....Don't try to complain they close ranks !!!!!! Wouldn't recommend any of the Stuart Longton branches to anyone. Totally unprofessional and unapproachable once they have your money and a deal

I'm sorry to hear you are unhappy with your experience from us. We have not heard aby complaints from you regarding our customer service in the 14 months you have been a customer of ours so its surprising to hear now that you have had issues.

As you revisited our dealership wanting to buy another motorhome, I would assume this meant our customer service couldn't have been that bad as you wanted to purchase a second from us. But as we explained at the time, we were over stocked with the Ford Swift Monza campervans and due to high volume of stock on the forecourt we explained that we weren't in a position take another expensive Monza into stock, but if you were flexible with your time frame maybe we could re look at it in the future once we had sold some of the units on site.

Alternatively you could sell the vehicle yourself and come see us again with no part exchange.

We understood that you were not happy to hear this but we are a family run dealership and we do need to manage stock levels carefully so we do not put ourselves in a difficult situation.

Daryl looked after us from start to finish, Amber the lady in the shop was very helpful as well. Very competively priced, hughe stocks of caravans, not pushy allow you time to look around and are there when needed. First trip this weekend and I have confidence if there are any issues they will be resolved.
Many Thanks

Warrant honoured

Better news. Stewart Longton have decided to honour the warranty on a window that fell out. However I had to fight for this which I should not have had to do. At least they did make the correct decision in the end. However other previous comments do stand. No problem with the service department who are helpful.

Bought a used caravan last weekend from Stuart longton caravans. Staff are friendly and helpful. Me and my family were left to have a good look round caravan inside and out before we made the decision to buy it. It has all been a good and relaxed putchase. Also I found a problem with my tow hitch on my car not supplying the right power to lights and Steve has gone above and beyond to help me solve the issue. I've been in a few times again this weekend after I've been messing with car to get the power supply sorted and Steve has been straight out helping me connect different light boards and connector to help me resolve it. Thanks again for all the help.
