Well… what can I say about Stel Order
Well… what can I say about Stel Order? Unfortunately, not much that’s positive.
I had to use and manage this software for a company I previously worked for, and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with any software provider. What’s particularly frustrating is the lack of genuine, independent reviews for Stel Order. They feature a “Reviews from real clients” section on their own website, which is already a red flag. Even more concerning is that there are virtually no independent reviews elsewhere online… until now.
I’m sharing this so others can make an informed decision before committing to Stel Order. It’s also worth noting that reviews can easily be manipulated, so it’s always best to rely on trusted platforms such as Trustpilot or other independent review sites.
Before I go into the issues, I want to make it clear that I contacted Stel Order support for every problem listed below, along with several others I won’t include here. Their standard response was always: “Sorry, there’s nothing we can do.” There was no attempt to escalate issues, no option to speak with someone else, and no proactive effort to find solutions. They also never mentioned that they have a dedicated feedback forum. Even if they had, it likely wouldn’t have helped, as there are nearly 800 unresolved feedback requests, which speaks volumes.
Here are some of the main issues I experienced:
1. iOS App Issues
The iOS app simply didn’t work properly. Among several problems, the most serious one was that it sent my workers to incorrect addresses. This alone caused significant operational issues and wasted time.
2. Integrated Maps
The integrated maps feature is extremely poor. It made route planning inefficient and ultimately cost us time and money. There’s also no practical workaround, which meant my team had to struggle with it daily.
3. Calendar Limitations
The calendar system is unnecessarily restrictive. The account that creates a specific calendar is the only one that can edit or assign jobs within it. If that person isn’t available, you can’t even transfer ownership. The only workaround is creating a new calendar and manually moving every job one by one, which is completely impractical.
4. Job Tracking & Payments
Tracking jobs is overly complicated, and managing deposits makes it even worse. I would recommend using Stripe directly instead. Although Stel Order offers Stripe integration, that feature also caused issues and didn’t improve the experience.
5. Lack of Configurability
One of the biggest problems was the lack of customisation. For example, job priorities are limited to a fixed set (3–4 options), and you can’t even rename them. I reported this, and again, I was told there was nothing they could do. This kind of limitation makes the software feel very inflexible.
Why did I choose Stel Order in the first place?
Initially, it seemed affordable and offered many features that suited our needs. However, over time, those features became less useful due to limitations, poor usability, and repeated responses from support stating that nothing could be done.
Finally, I’d also like to mention the cost. For what the software offers, Stel Order is extremely expensive. I was charged €60 per month for the main user, and €27 per month for each additional user. Considering the issues and limitations, this felt unreasonable.
Overall, my experience with Stel Order was disappointing. If you're considering this platform, I strongly recommend researching carefully and exploring alternatives before committing.
