Excellrnt customer service

I have used their product since it was Start8. I was unsure if the latest upgrade to Start11 would run on Win10, but Stardock confirmed it. Initially I purchased the 5 license annual upgrade, but then saw the permanent license package for only twice the cost.

Stardock support was very responsive to the swap, and quickly had my order refunded and replaced

I use Start11 and I love it.

This brings me the tiles that I miss from W8 or W10. Lot of customization, but also easy to use. I recommend it.

Constantly Asking For The Product Key.
The software is ok, but Stardock's product key verification is utterly annoying. It seems that every time I turn around, it's telling me that I need to re-enter my email and product key. For that reason, I can't recommend their products. Look for a less annoying solution.

This is using Windows 11. It works great 85% of the time, but sometimes after locking the computer or start-up, the background will be white on one or bith monitors.

Terrible service - Broken games

I purchased a DLC from them a couple of weeks ago and it never worked. I am unable to even download the DLC without errors. I have asked for a refund several times and they keep sending me to their forums. I will never buy anything from this company again.

Ignores unsubscibe requests

I used Stardock software for a number of years and was overall satisfied with its performance. I had been using Fences for years but felt it was lacking in any improvements or evolving with time - basically it had become static imho.

I looked around for alternatives and settled on Portals by "portals-app.com". At that point if I was writing this review I would have given Stardock 3 or perhaps 4 stars as Fences was doing its job I just wanted something that felt more up to date.

My issues is that since ceasing to use Stardock software I keep getting pestered with email offers from them despite having UNSUBSCIBED many times. Note to Stardock - pestering people only annoys them and will NOT entice them back!

horrible experience

I've enjoyed their software in the past, but Start11 has made my pc unusable, as everything will flicker on and off to where you cannot even get to the settings menu before it goes away. There is no way to contact support of any kind. Absolutely horrendous.

Bad decision to sell Fences as a subscription.

Stardock makes the application Fences which was free when I started using it, but is now a commercial product. It works GREAT and is beautiful. BUT....Stardock wants to use subscription service instead of straight buyout. I HATE subscriptions because you can stop using a product but still pay "in the background), so I will not purchase. IOBIT makes a free Fences...I have it one computer and it works fine. So Stardock, which could sell 1000 of these apps outright are denying themselves all that revenue, because of their sales strategy. i don't buy Adobe or Microsoft products if they subscriber services.

Good games. Decent software. Great customer service.

I have played several of their games and used a few of their pieces of software, and overall my experience with them as a company has been great not just when stuff works (start menu software) but also when their stuff doesn't work right (windows blinds). I recently purchased blinds but in the description it was never made obvious that it does not play nice with Eset security, which is what I use. I tried the workarounds in their help section but the blinds software just would not work. I reached out to support, explained my issue and requested a refund. They didn't give me any trouble or even ask for additional information and within 24 hours I had my refund. Great customer service experience.
