Ver bad bank bad serives limit atm and excessive fee and charges
Rigid
Rigid. Bad customer service. Refuse to cancel my card because of interest charge which they refuse to waive. Slightly late payment due to overlooking and they did not accept any appeal. Long time customer is not part of their consideration. Somemore consider myself as what premium banking customer. Nothing premium at all. Canceling my banking relationship with them for that $50. They really do not know how to retain customers. Bad.
I wish i would rate negative.

It's 2025 and they still wont let you take screenshots which is very important to confirm payments plus it's good marketing too when millions of people will look at your logo on the receipt screenshots. + so many other issues while managing payees.

Had a very bad experience with Standard Charted credit card
Cancelled SC credit card but not cancelled!
For the life of me, I can't read the credit card statement for amounts owing through the statement provided so I tended to overpay and finally decided to cancel SC Credit card.
SC informed it'd take 1-2 weeks for cancellation to effect. After 2 weeks, they cancelled the freebie I qualified AND applied for and I thought cancellation was already effective.
3 months later, SC sent an email that a charge was made on the card, but I have deleted all information of my card and have to visit their branch now.
Every phone call takes 30 - 60 mins of wait.
Worst banking experience in my life.
Worst banking experience in my life. I'm a traveller so I've seen a lot of banks but this is by farrrrrrr the worst of them all.
Bank refused to waive my credit card…
Bank refused to waive my credit card annual fee suddenly, despite me getting few waiver for past years. Called up and it took so long to speak to customer service, who also didn’t waive it. She said there is no reason that they rejected my request, which is ridiculous. Nowadays, cards don’t even charge annual fee or at least it gets waived easily. Don’t get lured into signing a card with this bank.
Do NOT bank with Standard Chartered
Do NOT bank with Standard Chartered. Customer service is lousy, credit card services cancellation doesn't work without paying for 'pro-rated fees'. And staff ask you to refer to the T&Cs for any issues with card services.
This bank in Singapore deserves to close down. Go with SC at your own risk!
Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Non Chalant attitude to resolve debit card issue
Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, you need to up your game.
I used my debit card to pay for a service at Vfs Global, I got à débit immediately but the Vfc did not receive the payment. I called customer care who told me the funds was blocked and will be reversed to my account .
A staff of SCB called me the following day that money had gone through to Vfs, and will get it reversedto me within 5 to 7 working days. It's about 3weeks now , à mail suddenly comes up asking me for a decline note which I never had.
Someone should attend to this ASAP ,let me have my money back.

I tried to apply a personal loan to…
I tried to apply a personal loan to standard chartered bank because when I look at my app it says "no handling fee"and very less interest.
I received a call telling me that my loan has been approved. They can offer me 71,000 hkd with a monthly amortization of 2111 payable for five years.I was shocked when I computed the total will become 126,000 HKD.
I told her I will cancel my application and will apply to my previous bank. She said _ i dont think some bank will approve a loan for you." Ive been a customer of Public finance but the handling fee is quite big, thats why I tried this bank because there is no handling fee.
But..oh my ..its a trap
Horrible experience
Horrible experience. The lure you by giving a free card. Following year they take off all the benefits and charge you an annual fee. And they make hard for you to cancel.
**Review for Standard Chartered Bank
**Review for Standard Chartered Bank: Unlawful Charges and Poor Resolution Process**
I am deeply disappointed with Standard Chartered Bank's handling of my recent experience involving unnecessary and unlawful charges for accessing international lounges through DragonPass. Despite the fact that many lounges, including the Maha Lounge at Qatar International Airport, are supposed to be free under the DragonPass benefit, I was wrongly charged for using these facilities.
I raised a formal complaint with the bank to resolve the issue and refund the incorrect charges. Unfortunately, their response was dismissive and unhelpful. They failed to acknowledge the mistake or provide a satisfactory explanation. Worse, they refused to process a refund, leaving me to bear the cost for a benefit that was clearly advertised as free.
Such practices erode customer trust and raise serious concerns about the transparency and integrity of the bank’s offerings. I expected better service and accountability from an institution like Standard Chartered. I hope the bank re-evaluates its policies and ensures this does not happen to other customers in the future. Until then, I cannot recommend their services to anyone seeking fair and honest banking.
Super lousy customer service vs loyathy customer
With them for 20 odd years, today 2nd late payment, was charged $100 for a 90+ purchase. Talk to them like pleading them stil rejected. They only allow 1 waiver per 12mth .. who else in this world wont miss any payment at times.. wanted to clear off my ladt instalment of $400, i need to pay surcharge of $190 or more n needs approval to prepay earlier. Not everyone knows this rules set by them. Now i know... i would say this is the most unfriendly bank i ever ever use..no more. Spore SCB
Archaic policies. Don’t invest with them
I have been trying to sell my shares in the UK. As I am not in the UK for the next six months and therefore cannot send the shares back by post. Customer Service can’t help or offer a different solution. They want your money and make it difficult to cash the shares. A big corporation with no interest in individual clients. They are like many banks only interested in profit
worst banking
worst banking. sc pakistan is worst banking service. no customer service no branch service no online service. customer service cannot even answer simple questions. if there is option for negative rating, i would give -1000. my money is stuck in bank and no one knows why my account is not working
This has been the worst experience I’ve…
This has been the worst experience I’ve had in over 20 years of living abroad and using various banks across different countries. My credit card was blocked, both physically and online. I received a notice by mail that I needed to pay the card balance. When I visited the bank to understand what went wrong, the staff updated my information and assured me that everything would be resolved within 2-3 days. A week later, nothing had changed, and no further communication arrived in my inbox. Unfortunately, I was traveling at the time and couldn’t immediately return to the bank for follow-up.
Later, the bank imposed a penalty on me, despite the fact that my credit card balance is fully covered by a frozen amount on my debit card—meaning I wasn’t even using the bank’s money. There were no additional notifications via email or other official channels.
Even though I personally visited the bank to resolve the issue, I was misinformed. It was a nightmare! After seven years with this bank, I’ve seen all my friends switch to other banks, but I held on. I hope management reads this and reconsiders how they treat loyal customers. Professionalism and clear communication are essential. SC Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh
Be careful bank transfers via SWIFT
I had the misfortune that someone sent me a transfer in USD to my account in UK through Standard Chartered USA. It's been 20days now and I found out that they held it for over 14days. Since they told me it went to another bank (Lloyds Bank Plc in London) and its been 3 days !! My own Bank HSBC is unwilling to help even I can provide them full information
Update : Lloyds bank copied and also held my money on nterest for 2 weeks. I received it LESS charges (sic!) after 1 month !! Avoid these banks and their obtuse practices. Ps The receiver bank HSBC also DID NOTHING (except give excuses).. Long live new types of customer friendly banks like Monzo, Revolut etc…
