Great product that has enhanced our house greatly

Where to begin. The concept is good. But make no mistake this is not an any man DIY. The measuring part has to be perfect. It’s a lot of responsibility for amateurs who don’t know what they’re doing to be responsible for measuring. Even though I measured, checked double triple quadruple and then had 5 other people also check, the measurements were wrong, luckily I’m a professional DIY ER , so I could bastardise it to fit. The instructions seem simple but they’re not in practice, you need a 40mm drill head, which no where except the internet sells, so make sure you order that before it arrives. you also need a decent saw and sander. Because cutting the other banister straight for anyone other than a professional is near impossible.

What I’m trying to say is, do not order this thinking anyone can erect it. You need to be a competent builder. I started to film my process for the £200 vouchers, but I had so many issues with the posts being too long, glass being too short, saws now working, drill bit not drilling straight that I ended up scrapping it. Because frankly anyone watching my DIY video would never buy this kit. The finished piece is mediocre. Looks DIY. But can’t blame the company for that.

Just be aware that it may be worth spending more on a fitter if you want a finished product that resembles the pictures.

Just to be clear Stairfurb products are good. They’re high quality and I can’t complain at that, 5* rating on the product. 3* rating is on the installation process, and the DIY premise. I would 100% get a fitter if you’re not a competent carpenter.

Brilliant service from start to finish totally changed my staircase great company

It was a pleasure dealing with this company. The customer service was very pleasant and were prompt to respond. My reason for 3 stars was that the online detailing system did not work well for me. I received a landing section of parts which did not relate to the existing design and had to be significantly reworked. This despite sending photographs. Nevertheless the parts produced were good quality and well crafted - just wrong! I took responsibility for this and didn't try to get the correct parts - I just reworked them. The result is excellent. If there is a next time I'll just order parts - not online kits.

Had a great experience with Stairfurb! We replaced our old bannister with an oak glass embedded version and it has completely upgraded the space.

From start to finish stairfurb were amazing .
Once measurement’s where done and entered on the website , which was straight forward and they have a guide of how to take your measurements correctly.
Once ordered it arrived really quickly and delivery guys were great .
We started at 9.30am ripping out the old and we was completely finished with installing the new one by 2pm .
Was great doing it myself with a friend and I’m very proud of how it turned out .
Don’t be put off thinking you can’t do it . It’s actually easier than you think and will save you so much money .
The product is super quality and looks amazing .
If your thinking of hiring someone don’t do it because you’ll find how easy it is and you’ll be more proud than when paying someone else to do it .

Staff were very helpful and video call did assure the order was correctly measured. Tip ensure balustrade is parallel or this will have an impact. You only measure one angle for fitting. Assumes previous carpentry was spot on. If not get a new one and fit it parallel to base. Would recomend Stairfurb. Order arrived as promised and in good order. Fitted the same day. Easy to fit.

They really are a great company

Disappointed with the whole ordering system. It was all done via whatsapp, I sent them the measurements and they sent a quote I was happy with. When I come to pay for the order and looked at the details, it was hugely inaccurate. They then resent the proper quote which was £900 more! I missed out on another suppliers deal which had ended. They look like they have decent products but sadly we've not got to the stage of finding out. They dont have a number you can ring, its all done via a BOT on whatsapp which you can request a call back on. Shall as they look like nice products.

Everything from start to finish was 1st class. From measuring help on line to delivery time, spot on & the quality of their product is exceptional.
Nothing was too much trouble & the post delivery back up was helpful & reassuring.
If you have some D I Y skills go for it.

Third & Final update
Changing from a 1 to 3 star because they got back in touch and replaced the handrail free of charge as a good will gesture which I really appreciate. Had they done this in the first point of contact it would have been a 5 stars

Second update because they clearly don’t like customers telling the truth: Not the first protractor not working and being sent a second one out? Me knowing that was faulty clearly tells you I followed the steps! I followed each and every step the way I was shown and I checked it 3 times hence the 2nd protractor being sent out! Blame the customer all you want but the fact of the matter is that the handrail was 40mm too small and that WAS measured on the live video call. Your responses are clearly enough to put customers off ordering from you. Stair parts direct only wanted £45 for the same part you wanted £89 for. Are you sure you’re not a business profiteering from your own mistakes? It clearly looks that way!

Update in response: I must MAKE IT CLEAR that my measurements were taken under their GUIDANCE on a LIVE video call I followed the simple instructions THEY provided! My newel posts are in the same position as they were at the point of order so the level / plumb is irrelevant. My order was only signed off for the glass angle and that’s why you sent a protractor and not a spirit level too! As for the finance company being satisfied? They’re still investigating my complaint so I don’t know what made you think they agreed to your proposal of charging me for another handrail. Section 75 of the consumer rights act. Offering unregulated finance doesn’t mean I’m not protected from the consumer rights act either.


I ordered my stair kit during a live video call with the team and followed their instructions exactly when taking the required measurements.

Unfortunately, when the kit arrived, the handrail was 40mm too short, making it unusable. When I contacted the company to resolve the issue, I was told that the measurements were my responsibility and that I would need to pay £89 for a replacement handrail, despite having taken the measurements based on their guidance during the video call.

What made the experience even more frustrating was the difficulty in contacting them afterwards. My calls appeared to go unanswered until I phoned from a different number, at which point the call was answered immediately.

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Mistakes can happen, but the lack of accountability and poor customer service when trying to resolve the problem has left a very negative impression. As you can clearly see on their reply there’s still no accountability and it’s all my fault.

My dealings with Stairfurb were nothing but excellent from my first contact to my last was first class very easy to deal with helpful throughout & nothing was to much trouble for them even on a weekend .
I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again or recommend them to anyone arranged a video call within 2 hours of contacting them & everything was sorted during that call goods were delivered in the stated 3 week lead time very helpful with any queries I had and sorted very quickly professional from start to finish

Really pleased with both the product and service received from StairFurb. The initial ordering and online/video support and the supply of the glass balustrade and oak handrail was first class.
As a competent DIYer fitting was relatively straightforward and StairFurb were more than happy to answer the phone and provide advice when needed.
