Don't buy Dupont lighters .Mine doesn't…

Don't buy Dupont lighters .Mine doesn't fill properly anymore after just a year or so .Also they are so difficult when replacing flints. The flint striker can fall out and be lost so easily and the Ping sound has disappeared! Can't be bothered with repairs, especially having read the poor reviews! Chucked it in a drawer !

Extremely POOR customer service

I have emailed numerous times with questions regarding my ST DUPONT lighter,only each time to be posted onto anther company, or other reps. Never answering my questions, such as which butane fits should I use, or help to put in flints and which are best to use.
I am tired of emailing STDupont, just to never receive a response.
With such a supposedly reputable company, I am SHOCKED they provide, or I should say, DO NOT PROVIDE very poor customer service. Just ignore my emails, or just pass me onto someone else.
Very poor Dupont, very poor. Do better.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FOR THESE PPL

Their products are top quality however their UK customers service is absolutely awful they blocked me because I asked for a return labele with 14 days of the order. It is with my right to request a a return labele if I want to return an item AND THEY BLOCKED MY EMAILS. This is a disgusting service.

Extra payment out the blue

Order lovely light from their site. Then on day before delivery I recieve an email from DPS that I have to pay them anther 60£ on delivery ? Rip off, no mention of this when ordering, and dps contract is with Dupont, they issued the contract with them. I will never buy from them again.

SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Bought a ST Dupont lighter in Selfridges. It stopped working after 7 months, contacted Selfridges who said because it was more than 6 months, they couldn't do anything!? They suggested i contact Dupont which i did, and they told me to contact Selfridges!
Apparently, Dupont don't honour their 2 year manufacturers warranty/guarantee if the item is purchased from an AUTHORISED sellor...only if it is purchased directly from Dupont, do you get the 2 year warranty?! This is NOT stated anywhere.
This level of so called customer service from a luxury brand is ABYSMAL.
SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever! They’re useless! I contacted them for a warranty issue with a lighter but they just don’t care! Poor communication, clueless and unprofessional! It’s a great shame as I like their vintage lighters! Stay away

Stunned as to how poor this company is ?

I was gifted an ST Dupont cigar lighter from a friend who bought it from the ST Dupont boutique in Paris.
The lighter has always been surprisingly a little unreliable, i always thought this brand was meant to be the holy grail of lighters but now personally would never go near them again especially after the lighter has now totally failed & ST Dupont UK are saying although the item is still within the 2 year warranty period they won't honour the warranty as it was bought in Paris.
Joke of a company with a so called global presence that they don't offer an international warranty on their product my advice is steer clear of them & their products!

It is unreal how such a well known…

It is unreal how such a well known company can be one of the worst. I returned part of my order a month ago and they claim they never received it, when DHL’s proof of delivery clearly shows they received it within one day. They refuse to refund me and they keep saying the escalated it and it takes time. No it shouldn’t take time, you received a return you should issue the refund. Really not helpful!!

I ordered a lighter in June from their…

I ordered a lighter in June from their website. As soon as I had paid I got an email to tell me that my lighter would not ship until mid-July... There was no indication on the site that they were out of stock. This was the first disappointment.

I decided to accept that and wait until mid-July. Now that mid-July has arrived, I had heard nothing. I gave ST Dupont another email to follow up, and they replied that the lighter would not be shipped until mid August because "Unfortunately the factory production has been delayed due to summer holiday in France. Unfortunately this is outside our control." They did not warn me of this until I followed up. This is extremely disappointing service. I have asked for a refund...

Cigar Cutters

I bought 2 Luxury, St Dupont Cigar Cutters, both have the same issue of not opening and getting stuck upon release, both unusable. I only had them 1 year, well within the 2 year warranty period. Online reviews from other customers now show that the cigar cutters have a faulty spring mechanism (86% of reviews were 1 star, the poorest mark). Not the quality of workmanship I expected for the price point of this product. I emailed and asked politely for the company to advise me of the next steps to have them both repaired or refunded as their refund policy is the only link on their website that has been disabled for at least 5 months, conveniently. ST DUPONT do not provide a direct name or phone number and instead sent me a reply email instantly dismissive stating they would not repair or do anything. I had to plead with them, they then agreed to repair it and took 14 weeks instead of the 8 weeks advised to fix it. Within 1 week of receiving the products back, they malfunctioned again and they refused to take accountability or refund despite still being within warranty. Their products are nothing but a stylish accessory, they are poorly constructed and do not last more than 6 months. Significant improvement in service is needed, not sure how this company has survived so long.

If I could give this company a 0 star, I would.
Never have I experienced such incompetence, arrogance, and complete disregard for the customer.
ST Dupont (Australia) with Alexandre at the helm is a total joke.

Buying a "Luxury" pen for 550 EUR without cartridges

I was going to order a pen with personalisation as a farewell present to a friend. I chose a nice rose gold. pen but I couldn't add the personalisation to the it. I tried several time, but nothing happened when I clicked on Confirm. I called the customer service, they couldn't help, then I figured out that if I add a second pen to the bag, I can add personalisation to it then I deleted the first one from shopping bag. Problem solved.
Or at least I thought. I placed the order, payed more than 500 Euro and waited for the pen.
Finally it arrived, but WITHOUT CARTRIDGES!!!
For 550 EUR I received the pen without cartridge.
I called the customer service and they promissed to send it straightaway. I told them it's urgent, my friend is leaving I have only a few days left to give her this pen. Next day they called me asking WHICH COLOUR I want black or blue!!! Instead of sending me both colours in the first place, and trying to resolve the ridiculous situation they caused, they asked about colours?
S.T. Dupont is not a luxury brand. Their customer service is a mess and not helpfull at all, probably full of incompetent managers.
I would never recomend to buy anything from S.T. Dupont

Poor quality fountain pen and jet lighter

I have now purchased, at different times, a fountain pen and a jet lighter from ST Dupont.
The fountain pen had very bad flow from the start, is scratchy and takes 10 minutes to get the ink flowing each time. I have used many different high-end and standard pens and this was by far the worst. Found it impossible to get any assistance from ST Dupont or locate anywhere that sold replacement nibs.
More recently I bought a Hooked jet lighter along with a number of other lighters of different brands. The Dupont one is unreliable, needs to be constantly 'bled', does not fill reliably and hardly ever works.
My experience of the brand across two different lines now is not what I would expect from a 'luxury' brand and I would not consider purchasing anything Dupont in the future.
