GOLF INSURANCE RENEWAL
It was easy to go through the process having been insuring with SportsCover Direct for many years. The Price was comparable with the Scottish Golf Insurance however I value the fact I have been with you for many years. There was one aspect that does need to be reviewed. The change to the Car Break in Dusk until Dawn. I have no place to put my golf gear (Clubs and Motocaddy) other than my car. In the boot under cover so why change this and can I insure for this. Not Happy with this change with no consultation with golfers.

Good choice of cover
Good choice of cover with easy to understand information about the insurance cover on offer....Lots of travel insurers say they cover sport... but read the small print....and most exclude playing in competitions and if sport is the main purpose of the trip. Sportscover Direct insursance does what it says!

The real test of insurance is when you need to claim — and this failed badly
You can only really judge how good an insurance product is when you actually have to make a claim. Unfortunately, the vast majority of reviews here seem to be about the purchasing experience, rather than what happens when you need the insurer to help you.
I suffered an injury while on holiday. The policy only covers public medical care, which within the EU is already available to UK residents through the Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) arrangements. In practice, all Sports Cover Direct did in relation to my medical treatment was guide me through the process of accessing this government-funded scheme.
I also had to claim for non-medical costs resulting from the injury, including curtailing my holiday and repatriating my vehicle. I submitted that claim almost three months ago and have still received no decision or meaningful update.
I have chased repeatedly by phone, but staff say they are unable to provide any information about the progress of the claim. I have now submitted a formal complaint, which I have been told may take up to eight weeks to review.
The whole experience has been a complete shambles.
I have only had to claim on travel insurance once before, through Aviva via Barclays, and the difference in experience is night and day.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this product. Buying insurance is easy; the real test is what happens when something goes wrong, and that is where Sports Cover Direct has completely failed me.
