Thank you for taking the time to leave your review.

We are genuinely sorry that you have experienced an issue with the rear brake, and we completely appreciate the frustration of receiving a product that you believe to be faulty. However, we do feel that your review leaves out some important context regarding both the condition of the brake and the assistance we have offered.

When you first contacted us, you explained that the transit spacer appeared to be jammed between the brake pads. You subsequently advised us that you had spent several hours attempting to remove it yourself and that, during those attempts, the caliper had sustained external wear and scuffing, with the housing left in a condition where the retaining pin would no longer slide back into place.

Despite this, at no stage have we simply rejected your account or told you that the damage means you are not entitled to assistance. Quite the opposite. We have repeatedly acknowledged that, based on your description, it does sound as though something may have gone wrong with the brake originally and that a genuine defect is certainly possible.

What we cannot reasonably do is conclusively determine the cause of the problem without actually seeing the brake.

For this reason, we asked for the brake to be returned to us for inspection, with the return being entirely at our expense. This was not a refusal to replace or refund the product. It was simply a request to physically assess a product which has been reported as faulty and which has subsequently sustained damage during attempts to rectify the issue.

We also specifically explained that we did not expect the cosmetic damage caused during those attempts to prevent us from helping if our inspection established that there was a genuine underlying fault which caused the original problem.

We therefore do not believe it is accurate to suggest that we are simply "holding" your £45 or that you have been told you must potentially wait weeks before we decide whether to help. We have been trying throughout our correspondence to get the brake back, establish what has happened and reach the appropriate resolution as quickly as possible.

You have since indicated that you intend to have the brake independently assessed rather than returning it to us at this stage. That is of course your choice, but our offer remains unchanged. Once your independent assessment has been completed, or if you decide that you would prefer us to inspect the brake ourselves, please contact us and we will arrange a prepaid return label.

We fully understand that customers can be frustrated when something goes wrong, and we will always do our best to resolve genuine product issues fairly and promptly. However, we do not feel that asking to inspect a reportedly faulty and subsequently damaged product before determining the appropriate resolution amounts to "robbery", nor do we believe describing our company and staff publicly as "thieves" and "criminals" is a fair representation of how this matter has been handled.

The opportunity to return the brake to us at our expense and allow us to investigate and resolve the issue remains completely open.
