Spokeo is a scam

Spoken is a scam! You pay for one number, think you are paying 95 cents then find out you are signed up for a 29.95 a month service.
And PayPal will find this legitimate.
Just don’t touch them.

I have since received a refund.

Total Scam!

Total rip-off. I signed up online for a 95 cent free trial membership that the website said I could “easily cancel at any time”. WRONG! There is NO option to cancel on line. You must talk to a representative on the telephone to cancel. No other way. If you can sign-up online, why can’t you cancel online? Answer: It’s a scam! Had to cancel my credit card number to prevent future fraud. DO NOT USE SPOKEO!

They offer a one time search for $0.99 but after this search they then report you have 7 more days left before they bill you the full amount for a subscription. And no way to cancel unless you submit an email on their site which cannot be tracked. Chat does not work and a phone call will only put more of your info into their database. NO THANKS. STAY AWAY from these guys!

No results. I don’t recommend

I used Spokeo one time —95 cents. I had lots of info: family members & cities. But no results, maybe because the person has no social media accounts & no criminal record. I will never use the app again.

Spokeo is a thief and a scam

Spokeo is a thief. It is nearly impossible (maybe completely impossible, as I haven't succeeded yet) to cancel your subscription. Even if you haven't used it.

The link they offer goes back to the page you're on--the page with the link you just hit. The help center sends you to the page with the link that sends you to the page with the link, and so on forever.

I appreciate being able to see the…

I appreciate being able to see the information that’s publicly available about me; however, I’m disappointed that many of the details are consistently out of date. For example, I haven’t lived at the address listed as “current” for almost a year. There is also an address included that I have absolutely no connection to. It appears Spokeo may be in need of a more efficient data‑entry team—or at the very least, a decent fact‑checker.
The only positive aspect was the accuracy of the historical information, such as past emails, phone numbers, and addresses.
Spokeo, would you please contact me so I can assist with your system‑verification updates? I love helping companies maintain an efficient and reliable presence. :-)
