While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

I engaged Spencer West LLP (partner: Jeremy Berg) in August 2025 on a very limited scope mandate: review my employer’s settlement agreement and draft/send one without-prejudice letter setting out required changes.
My instructions were crystal clear in multiple emails:
* Email-only communication (no calls).
* Strict capped budget.
* Deliverable: draft letter to employer for my review.
Despite this, the service I received was shocking:
* No draft letter was ever produced (the central deliverable).
* Time was instead spent on repeated unwanted phone calls, arguments about billing, and discussions irrelevant to my case.
* My communication preferences were ignored, and at one point the solicitor relayed that my employer found me “difficult” – and said he agreed.
* I was billed for time spent on calls and fee discussions rather than the work instructed.
In short, my mandate was not complied with. I paid over £1,000, yet the instructed work was never delivered. When I raised a complaint, the firm closed ranks and rejected it in full.
I am now escalating to the Legal Ombudsman.
I cannot recommend this firm based on my experience.
I was at my wit’s end when I found Shujeth. My first solicitor cost me a buyer, four months of stress, and £42,000. Then came Shujeth – calm, clear, clever, and kind. He restored my faith in solicitors. If you want someone who genuinely cares and delivers, look no further. If you’re thinking twice about working with Shujeth, then don’t hesitate, just do it.
