Very Impressive
Prior to ordering the travel router (Netgear PR2000), I emailed customer services. They responded very quickly and with helpful answers. The item was dispatched on a Friday and arrived here the following day.
The router is excellent - as are Specialtech and I would be more than happy to use them again in future and to recommend them to others.
Efficient, and very helpful, recommendable and trustworthy retailers.
Bought 3 orders over the weeked as it was black friday / cyber monday, so I was paying £30 in delivery. 2 of the orders came together so specialtech was able to reduce my costs to £20 which I was happy about.
There was 1 smalll hickup in one of my 3 orders with the wrong aerocool product sent, but I let them know straight away using ticket system on website, they gave me a freepost label print to return the item, and the correct item was with me early the next day at no extra cost.
The delivery was 1st class too, as was able to track the driver on google maps as interlink provides that kind of tracking, much better than yodel or myhermes where you just have to hope you get your item safely and in time.
Let Me Down, Twice - Pleasant Sales Staff - Infuriating Website
Last Friday I needed a few parts for Saturday delivery (fan splitter cables and a fan controller), so I called ahead on Friday morning to check if an order placed that morning was likely to arrive on Saturday. They couldn't guarantee this (fair enough) but confirmed that if I used the RM Special Delivery option (£12.47), it had a good chance of arriving on Saturday. I was also told that if anything came up that would prevent arrival that day, I'd be notified (which would have been a nice gesture if it had been true).
So I placed my order. Later in the day I received my dispatch notification, so things were looking good.
On Saturday, a small package arrived containing only the cables. The main part of the order (the controller) was missing.
I queried this through their ticket system on Saturday. Monday morning passed (still no other packages) so I called around 3pm to chase it. Again, the person I spoke to was pleasant and helpful and said he'd respond to my ticket shortly.
He then informed me that the 'other warehouse' they were sending the remaining item from had missed the next day cutoff point on Friday, so it would be dispatched that day (Monday) for delivery the next day (Tuesday). I was annoyed that this was not flagged up on Friday (especially given what the previous member of staff had said), and that I'd not be getting the next day service I'd paid for on all of the items.
Tuesday came and went. No delivery. I had to ask a family member to stay in (because it was originally meant to be a Saturday delivery, it was addressed to my home), so they weren't pleased that they'd stayed in for nothing.
Again I queried this with SpecialTech. In was then told that the warehouse had missed the cutoff again (!?). I wasn't notified of this (again), and it was now too late in the day to try a third time.
I'd already said that if they couldn't honor the remaining order they should cancel it - so they did so - claiming that they couldn't guarantee timely dispatch.
They offered a £5 refund on the postage, which on the face of it seems fair enough - but when you consider the original postage cost was over £12, this means I've effectively paid £7.50 for next day postage on some cables (that could have gone by 1st class post for under £3); not to mention the inconvenience of being without the part I needed for almost a week longer than planned.
I've now re-ordered from a competitor.
Overall I'm extremely disappointed, especially given that my first impressions (when talking with the sales staff) were very good.
On another note:
- Their website uses an AJAX 'load as you scroll' product listing which makes navigation of their products extremely slow and cumbersome (particularly on a big HDPI screen that could show all of the products at once anyway)
- Their 'sort by price' button doesn't actually sort by price (after the first batch of AJAX-loaded products appears it all goes to hell)
- The AJAX-loaded products don't stay loaded, so when you come back to the product list after looking at a product, you have to scroll all the way back down the list, waiting for them to slowly load 8 at a time, unable to jump to the end. It's infuriating that they've gone to the trouble of putting in a borked AJAX system when it just ruins the browsing experience
The best customer service you'll ever have
I recently made a purchase, but i wanted to change the color of an item i ordered (because the one i wanted was out of stock). No problem, i sent them an email and they replied very quickly to me saying that they had already done it.
Also, i ordered a radiator, but it was too thick for my case. So i asked them if they could change it with a slimmer one (the xt45), and even if there was a difference i had to pay (because i bought the first radiator with a discount), they kindly offered me the new radiator with no charge.
They are the best!
Great customer service
They emailed me to let me know that dispatch would be a little later than usually due to them moving premises, which I had no issue with. My only gripe is it should have been communicated a little earlier - but I can only imagine the stress they are going through so I am completely understanding :)
I have complete faith in Specialtech and will be ordering from them again in future.

These guys have been around for many years, I think my first order was around 2004. This time they were the only store to have stock of all the water cooling components I needed for my latest build and they arrived superbly quickly, well packaged and at the same or better price as any other sites I had been looking at. Website-wise things could be slightly improved, load times and never really gets shown on google searches for shop items (has to be a way to add them eh) but you cant fault them for quality of service and goods. Customer service replies are swift and make solutions to any issues quickly. Add this site to your list of good on-line PC shops if you haven't already!

i order'd 2x Alpenfohn 120 x 120 x 25mm Wing Boost PWM : WINGBOOST-120 it was on sale so i tried it out first time buying from specialtech and the delivery was fast within 3 days its the free delivery i chose so it was excellent, the fans are also brilliant on some online review's apparently these fans made a clicking noise mine dont!
tested under volting and max volting to its limit and run for about 1 hour straight and no clicking sound really happy for this product and the fast delivery would recommend both product and company really happy about this!
Excelent customer service
I been using Specialtech for many years and they never let down. My items are always shipped fast and when i contact them i always could reach them straight away. They do have actual stock unlike some other water cooling companies in the UK that are feed sites.
Good service on a hard-to-find item
Specialtech were one of a very few suppliers who had stock of an item I needed for a Lian Li PC case. Despite this their price was very reasonable, and the item was despatched quickly. First class service - I recommend this company.

I was having trouble with my air cpu cooler so went for an all in one, I ordered it on friday then on Monday got a tracking number but in my details it said it still hadn't been shipped so on Tuesday I sent an email. Within half an hour Martyn from support had replied and told me the item had been shipped and would be with me the same day which it did. With support like that I am certain that I will use them again. Brilliant.
