Very good but for one thing...
Called Solar Guide and was contacted very fast by Installers. So: very good here.
I stated : I would like to deal only with installers who come onsite (no pure phone evaluation/quote). Because I believe in meeting with people and onsite you can see things you do not see otherwise.
One company insisted on doing the evaluation/quote on the phone only. I would have expected Solar Guide to do the selection according to my requirements. Thus one star less.

Very clear information
Very clear information. I didn't feel like I was being sold something I didn't want. All information was straight forward and the conversation didn't needlessly last longer than required to get clear understanding.

They have obviously not taken on board my extensive review. I advised them that their specifications for the Tesla Powerwall 2 were incorrect. This was nothing to do with a purchase or installer.
THE FOLLOWING EXCERPT IS TAKEN FROM THEIR WEBSITE
Back-up Gateway 2: Uninterruptable Power Supply
Unlike any other solar battery available in the UK, the Tesla Powerwall 2.0 is able to provide your home with an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) with the addition of a Backup Gateway 2. The big benefit of fitting the Backup Gateway 2 to the Tesl Powerwall 2.0 is that you will still have a power supply in the event of a power cut.

Too many fly by night contacts offered
out of the 3-4 calls only one was of a long standing business in this work, all others were very new and had very very limited history and i was bombarded by weekly calls and texts by those acting like doorstep sales people. This needs to be sorted because it puts people off.

Please beware as this company obviously works on commission. Please check out companies that they refer you to as the one we were referred to have gone bust and was not MSC registered. i have no idea why they would entertain any companies that are not MSC registered. Hence we had no come back and no paper work.

Solar Guide referred a company to us in…
Solar Guide referred a company to us in 2023 that was in the process of going bust. The company EcoSmart installed our system, did it incorrectly for £20k and then completed their bankruptcy leaving us stranded with a system not fit for purpose. Clearly Solar Guide was not concerned about the customer and their due diligence is shameful. On contacting Solar Guide they promised to get back to me and did not 3 times and eventually when I spoke to someone, they simply referred me to Citizen Advice. They washed their hands of the whole matter and took no responsibility whatsoever.

Extremely poor quality leads
In recent months the leads being supplied by leads.io are extremely poor in quality and I don't believe are being properly qualified as per their marketing blurb. I have received leads from vulnerable people, people who already have existing solar PV installed and people who bluntly say 'not interested' in their opening line! How can they justify these leads as being fully qualified?

Contacted by all three companies within 24 hours.
One had done their homework on Google maps and was concerned about return on investment for the investment. They did not ask me about why I wanted the system or whether the extended return was an issue. I had the feeling it was not worth thier time sending a rep. Others booked quotes. Time will see whether we can go ahead with one of them.

Within 24 hours had been contacted by 3 reputable companies. Two of which sent out Solar Advisors to my home. They were able to answer all my questions. I was impressed by all three but my final choice was decided by the most competitive price.
