I’ve sent multiple emails and made 3 calls to customer service and the answer is still the same…’shipping inquiry submitted to USPS’. Don’t place an order unless you are willing to wait 6 months for a delivery that will never be reimbursed or replaced.

Oustanding Customer Service
Customer service at smokingpipes.com is exceptional. I have emailed with questions about pipes and they were quick to respond. I was on a waiting list for Wessex Burley Slice pipe tobacco. I received an email saying that they just got some in, so I quickly got online and ordered a tin of it becuase I had never had it and wanted to give it a try. After a couple of days, I noticed that I never received tracking info on my order, so I contacted Customer Service. Turns out, for whatever reason, my order never went through. I wish I knew their name, but the Customer Service Rep that I spoke to went above and beyond to make sure that I got my tin of Wessex Burley Slice even though they had none in stock. I could understand if I was odering pounds of this tobacco, but I was just ordering one tin a $15 purchase. Outstanding customer service!

Attention Queer Community! Stay away from David Huber and his wife. I have been friends with them for years and out of nowhere, just because I was hyper focused on the topic of polyamory, they accused me of making passes at Bonnie. Never mentioning exactly what I did so I can apologize and make things right. This was a terrible misunderstanding and they ruined my reputation and had me searching for a new community. They are a danger to members of our community.

Avoid the .eu franchise where possible. Bought a Peterson Tyrone 69 pipe for shipping to the UK. It arrived fresh out of the box scuffed and scratched on the bowl. Sent it back immediately, with me paying the postage and UK-IRL customs charges. Weeks pass and several phone calls to a never-answered number later, I get a call saying they won’t send me a replacement unless I pay IRL-UK customs charges! Flat refusal from them to make any concessions for their mistake: no account credit, no attempt at remediation, and no acknowledgement of their responsibility. Shockingly bad experience. Avoid the .eu franchise where possible.

I have purchased many items from this company and have always been very happy. However, be aware their ordering systems are faulty especially if you purchase using PayPal. They will probably reply to this that their shipping error was my fault, which is fine. But if you look at my review history it's very spot on. Will I buy from this company in the future? No I will not. They do not care about their returning customers and refuse to verify their systems even when an IT professional shows them evidence it was their issue.
Unpleasant and stressful experience
Unfortunately, had very unpleasant experience with this company. I ordered a gift for a client (value $270) and paid separately for gift wrap, so I can present it to the client right away.
When I received it the day before the birthday, I was in shock, gift wrapping was done very poorly. I had to run in the middle of the rainstorm to buy a wrapping paper and find a person who was able to wrap it for me. My mood was ruined since I was under a lot of pressure. Three hours and $26 later, I finally had the gift that I wasn’t embarrassed to give.
When I contacted Andrea at the customer service, she was willing to reimburse $4 that I paid originally, but refuse to reimburse money that I had to spend last minute.
Unprofessional in my opinion.

I have ordered both pipes and tobacco from other online markets, including eBay. Smoking Pipes has unsurpassed customer service, no BS. My experience with shipping and product availability is second to none. There is no reason for me to spend my money anywhere else when it comes to buying my favorite smoke blends.

I ordered some pipe baccy to be posted to the UK but it got lost in transit. By the time I tracked it down it had been sent back. Anyway, these guys were responsive when I needed to find out about refunds, and then I was refunded in good time.
I'll have to wait to try Haunted Bookshop, but at least I found a good place to order it from.

I made my first purchase from a different tobacco site with a terrible experience. Smoking pipes was going to be my last attempt at a tobacco site, and I had my expectations pretty low. Let me tell you that they surprised the heck out of me. I ordered, looked like they got my package ready the same day and within 4 days I got my products. Will be using this site from now on!!!

I just received my second pipe from these folks and felt that I should post a review. Their website is excellent in its layout, the pipes that they feature range from inexpensive to pieces that someone like me shouldn’t be allowed to touch! My order was filled both times in a very fast process and arrived three days later. Both of the pipes that I ordered actually look much better in hand than on the web page. The service that I received was excellent, the pipes were packed very securely, the prices were fair- shipping was very fast. All in all- great experience and I intend to buy more products from them.

Smokingpipes selection is very good, with a wide variety of classic shapes, newer shapes, top line names, and lesser known options. The ordering and payment process was easy, shipping was surprisingly fast, and the quality was excellent. (In fact, I liked my last recent order so much in a curved style that I immediately ordered a second of the same brand in a straight version.) I will enjoy the additions to my pipe collection I've made through this company, and will definitely be making future purchases from them. When I sent an email thanking them for their impressive service and inquiring about a particular pipe brand, it was answered within a couple of hours. I was a loyal customer for 14 years
I was a loyal customer for 14 years, and I always had a good experience with folks in customer service, many of whom I knew on a first-name basis. My complaint is focused on a business model that rewards customers only on the amount the spent the previous year. From 2014 to 2022 I purchased almost exclusively from SMP - pipes, tobacco, and accessories. In 2022, I spent much of my time in Maine in support of my elderly parents. Maine prohibits receiving tobacco by mail, and for the first time in many years, I was made fewer pipe purchases. This apparently dropped me below a certain amount spent at SMP, and when I went to purchase a desired pipe on January 2, 2023, I saw that I no longer had the 10% discount that I had for many years previous. Now, it is not that discount amount that bothered me but the fact that I was a well-established customer - over 100 pipes purchased and gold-medallion standing in several of their badges. While I am sure that the SMP folks are well-respected in the pipe-smoking community, I question their business model that focuses only on the amount spent in the previous year to determine discounts, particularly in a community that prides itself on human relationships. This business model seems to care less about human relationships than on the profit margin. I still place orders with SMP on occasion, but I deleted my account and use it only as a guest. Instead, I prefer to give the majority of my business to those companies that care more about the human relationships than the profit margin - Blue Room Briars, Briar Blues, Dave Neeb are among those that I prefer, and I deal mostly with Mars Cigars for my tobacco purchases. I encourage the folks at SMP to reevaluate their current business model. Losing one long-term customer of 14 years should be a red flag to most folks, but the SMP folks did not bat an eye when I deleted my account. If they don't care about me, I surely care not about their success and will use them only at my convenience.
