Was really saddened to hear that this company has closed. Had my 2018 photobook ready to go. Have had the pleasure of creating 7 photo books.
I loved the different styles fun and funky my favourite. Customer services always helped my technophobe self. Will be sadly missed.

I lost out on 2 books from this company. I ordered 3 and only got one. They ignored all my communications. Wowcher honoured the vouchers so I ordered from Colorland. Smiley Hippo was always good but in the end was total rubbish. I had to learn how to use the colorland technology. And now that particular style of A4 book is not on offer on Wowcher.

Does anyone know whether 2nprint at the sam3 address have also gone out of business?

I have two Smiley Hippo gift cards and I am definitely not smiling!

Any help appreciated as to how to get compensation.

Ordered my book in December but have not received it. Could not get in touch with them as even their phone number is no longer connected. How were they allowed to still take new orders when they were going out of business?

Ordered a photo book through living social in October as a 21st birthday gift after many emails they offered a £10 voucher as if i was gonna use it. As you can imagine it never arrived so i sent a complaint to living social which they never replied to just like all the other reviews here. Awful company not surprised it's going out of business.
Today however I did receive my album but as the 21st birthday was 5 months ago it's far too late plus I had to pay am extra £3 postage after already paying £7.95 direct to them. DO NOT RECOMMENDED THIS FARCE OF A COMPANY!

Horrendous customer service ordered a first birthday present in October it's now march still not received. They have taken my money ignored my emails and judging by other reviews most people are in the same boat they made an excuse they have a back log of orders and I haven't heard anything since dispite me emailing numerous times do not order from this company they just take your money. Disgusting

I spent ages preparing a christmas photo book. I bought this via Living Social and dealt with Smiley Hippo direct. It was never delivered. Smiley Hippo did not respond to calls or e mails. Disgraceful service!

Time and money gone !!

Ordered three books in November, after numerous phone calls received 2 books and email in January saying third book ready for posting. Nothing arrived, presumed I would never receive book as company in liquidation. However received card from post office to say have parcel with no postage paid. Three pounds and I now have my album that had spent hours and hours preparing. I am happy !

A tip...
Like everyone else I ordered a photobook in December which I never received. I’d spent hours setting out the pages and working out which photos to place where - and couldn’t face having to do it again with another company. But then, I had a brainwave... because I’d downloaded the (Un)SmileyHippo software to my PC, I logged into my account, did a screenshot of every page & pasted them into a word document. I then bought a voucher for Colorland through Living Social and it only took me two or three hours to create a new book as I already had the layout of every page & just replicated them. The Colorland book arrived today and am pleased with it. V impressed with Living Social too - they refunded the cost of the Hippo voucher and also credited the postage to my Living Social account.

After finding out this company has went out of business, an order i placed in November has been sent to me. I got a card from the post office advising a parcel need £3 postage to get delivered! I went to sorting office and paid the money to be handed my photo book! No postage was on it at all, just my address.
Hopefully some of yous guys get yr orders too. I still have another book outstanding but at least one has arrived. I am now using colorland. They are okay but not the quality of smiley hippo.

I too have been left very disappointed with Smiley Hippo, after spending literally days worth of time making 2 x 106 page photobooks. That having been said (and having lost my job through bankruptcy several years ago), I actually feel more sorry for the Smiley Hippo staff and hope they all find new jobs. Living Social refunded my money so I just now need to see if I can get my postage and packing refunded via applying for a chargeback on my debit card. Living Social are currently offering an offer through "Colorland" - 120 page photobook for £11.99 plus P&P. I have remade my photobooks with Colorland, which yes, was a bit of a pain but at least it seemed to go faster the second time around as I could sort of remember which photos should go where. The first book arrived promptly and is great, and I have just had an e-mail to say the second one has been dispatched. I hope everyone affected by Smiley Hippo's demise have the funds, time and energy to re-create their photobooks. The Living Social offer with Colorland is actually cheaper than the Smiley Hippo original offer and Colorland seem very reliable. Good luck everyone.

Smiley Hippo doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating...aweful experience. Spent hours creating a calendar as a gift for Christmas only to never receive it! Woucher refunded my money back but in the end I still lost the delivery payment. Scam never order from this company. God knows how many people have been out left out of pocket. I hope watchdog hear of this.

Ordered 3 x photobooks by the end of November and still didn't receive. Woucher refunded the money back, but I've paid £7.95 delivery for each book + £12 extra for additional pages. So I lost £36 + 1 week of my expensive time while creating these photobooks....horrible experience!!! If they closed down - at least finish with old orders and dont take the new ones like you did!!!!!

Well, where do I start. Smiley Hippo were previously really good. I have had 3 books made without any issues. My wife spent hours on the A4 book weeks before Christmas. We received an email stating that due to the high demand, we will do our upmost for you to have it at Xmas. They also sent a £10 gift voucher as a sweetener. It never arrived and now reading between the lines they have gone bust. I have contacted Wowcher who have been very understanding so hopefully get a refund.

Horrendous. I spent so long making a photobook for my parents as a Christmas present. Didn't arrive for Christmas so thought okay, it will be a nice surprise in January, esp as my Grandma died just before Christmas and I had a page just about her, so it would have meant everything to my dad. I am so gutted to read they have gone out of business. Think it's disgusting to not have fulfilled existing orders, esp when presents like this tend to very personal and have a lot of sentimental meaning. Shocking.

so sorry to hear they have gone out of business had a book about a year ago and was really pleased with this so ordered another this year what a same I will not get it.

Ordered yearbook through wowcher. My wife spent hours designing it. Nothing came back. Now I know they are out of business. Appalling. DO NOT USE THIS FIRM.

I placed an order with this company 23.12.18 & despite several phone calls & 2 follow up emails chasing the order (25/1/19 & 30/1/19), I didn't get a reply nor did they ever answer the phone calls. Long story short, they've apparently gone bust! I emailed Wowcher who followed up with the company & I've managed to get my voucher money reimbursed. I'm now trying to claim the £7.95 P&P via PayPal.
