Purchased a brown Range Rover Evoque
We agreed to pay a £340 delivery fee due to the distance, as we were impressed with the car and its specification.
The morning after delivery, I inspected the vehicle thoroughly and found multiple issues: dents, scuffs, a broken fog light, and a dirty interior — including chewing gum stuck in the carpet. I initially messaged them saying I was willing to overlook these cosmetic problems and sort them myself, but shortly after, a “low battery” warning appeared.
After taking the car out properly, we noticed a strong, overpowering smell of fuel inside the cabin.
I raised these issues with Silsoe. Regarding the battery, they first offered £350 as a goodwill gesture, later increasing it to £500. I declined, as I wanted a full independent inspection to get to the root of the fuel smell.
A local garage carried out a full diagnostic and health check, which revealed:
- A failed battery
- Rear brake discs and pads worn below the legal safety limit
- A failing catalytic converter causing the engine to overfuel — explaining the fuel smell
When I shared this report, Silsoe claimed there was nothing wrong with the car and stated they had already completed a health check before sale. We reviewed their document and found it was dated for the same day the car was delivered — which was impossible. Worse still, the report stated it was for a diesel engine, yet we had bought a petrol model.
They then offered to cover only half of the £2,600 repair bill, later reducing this to just £750.
We formally rejected the vehicle under our statutory rights — something we were made to feel we weren’t entitled to at one point. What followed was weeks of back-and-forth emails between us, the finance company, and Silsoe, with constant arguments over the faults.
Eventually, they agreed to take the car back but immediately tried to persuade us to buy another vehicle from them. We agreed to draw a line under everything, provided the transaction was fully reversed within one week.
I heard nothing for the entire week and had to chase repeatedly — by this point, we had been without a car for nearly two months.
Finally, the deposit was refunded, but the £340 delivery fee was missing. When I asked why, they claimed they had paid a third-party courier, which was untrue: the driver confirmed he worked directly for Silsoe when I gave him a lift to the station.
We have now started a small claims process to recover the delivery fee, plus the cost of our independent inspection — expenses we initially accepted as a lesson learned, but now feel should be covered.
This has been a truly disappointing experience. I was called dishonest, treated as if I had no knowledge of vehicles, and made to feel in the wrong — despite working in the motor trade myself for 25 years. It is clear they have little understanding of the Consumer Rights Act and lack basic professionalism and customer service.
Almost all communication was via WhatsApp; the only time I spoke to anyone by phone was when they tried to sell me another car. While initial conversations with Jack were polite, matters quickly deteriorated once Aiden became involved — he was rude, unhelpful, and completely unprofessional.
I would strongly advise avoiding Silsoe Prestige Motors.
I purchased a car from them and, just 5 months and around 5,000 miles later, the engine suffered a catastrophic failure and is now being rebuilt at significant cost.
When I contacted the company to discuss the issue and seek assistance, I was met with a dismissive response stating that they “accept no liability”. Rather than showing any interest in the circumstances surrounding the failure or offering any goodwill, they chose to distance themselves from the problem entirely.
To make matters worse, they falsely accused me of having fitted a mileage blocker to the vehicle I part-exchanged with them. This allegation was completely untrue and made without any evidence whatsoever.
The combination of a major mechanical failure shortly after purchase, a complete lack of customer support, and baseless accusations has left me extremely disappointed with my experience.
Based on how I have been treated, I would not recommend Silsoe Prestige Motors and would urge potential buyers to exercise extreme caution.
They have now blocked my number to.avoid contact. Having read the 1 star reviews I hope anyone who has had thier car under 6 months especially the guy who needs a new engine consumer law states silsoe need to pay and do what I am doing invoice them and if they dnt reimburse youselves submit a CCJ against the company, definitely picked the wrong guy to rip off. Muggy c@#ts like this deserve all they get
Bought my audi s3 last week picked up today9.5.26 everything was great .great team highley recomend good cars .great customer service made you feel welcome no pressure or hassle lft alone to look over car and start it up .great team guys and many thanks
I am compelled to formally express my profound dissatisfaction regarding a recent vehicle purchase from this establishment. Upon acquisition, the car was found to have a coolant leak originating from two separate locations—an issue that should reasonably have been identified and rectified prior to sale. Regrettably, despite bringing this matter to their attention, the company demonstrated a marked unwillingness to comprehensively address and resolve the fault in its entirety.
Furthermore, my request for a refund was categorically declined, leaving me in possession of a vehicle that fails to meet acceptable standards of quality and reliability. The overall handling of this situation has been deeply disappointing and indicative of a concerning lack of accountability and customer care.
Based on this experience, I would strongly advise potential buyers to exercise extreme caution. In my view, this company engages in practices that may result in customers being sold vehicles with undisclosed defects, followed by an apparent reluctance to take appropriate remedial action. I cannot, under any circumstances, recommend their services. Complete joke of a company
Service was brilliant, I found a car and they did everything they could to help me get it, Jack was awesome as he tried every avenue before sending me to the finance i chose and he even made sure I was happy before proceeding - definitely recommend and definitely will be going back in a few years when wanting my next car
Absolutely appalling experience from start to finish. The vehicle developed a serious fault within 24 hours of purchase, followed by weeks of delays, poor communication, and ineffective repairs. The issue returned almost immediately, and when attempting to resolve matters, I was given conflicting buy-back offers that were later withdrawn without explanation. I also uncovered a highly concerning mileage discrepancy linked to a service carried out using a key I was never provided. The level of unprofessionalism, lack of transparency, and disregard for customers is shocking. I have lost significant time and money as a result.
The entire process was chaotic and misleading, with different staff providing conflicting information and no accountability taken at any stage. I was also only ever provided with one key, yet evidence shows a second key was used to log a service immediately after my purchase leaving a mileage discrepancy to lay in my hands, raising serious questions about the vehicle’s history and record accuracy.
To make matters worse, a family member has since had a similarly poor experience with this dealership, including being sold a vehicle with major faults and receiving no meaningful support. This clearly points to a pattern rather than a one-off issue. Overall, this has been a costly, stressful, and deeply frustrating experience. I strongly advise others to avoid this dealership altogether.
Bought a bmw from them and l live far so l had to see the car through video but they made sure to communicate. Every step was smooth thanks to Jack and Aiden.
Caution buyer beware!
Now my experience buying a BMW M4 was a good experience up until today. When I spent £26000.00 of my money with what is a supposed to be a professional and honest company I shouldn’t now be in the position I am writing this review. The day I purchased this car I tried to haggle as everyone does and as the car was the only one like it on the market Shaun obviously wouldn’t budge on the price but did agree to add on 6 months warranty and put a fresh mot as deal maker, me feeling a small victory I gladly accepted and the deal was done. Now comes the issue.
The car had 7 months of BMW warranty still to run on it and it made zero sense to run 2 warranty’s in tandem so Shaun said he would post date the start of the auto guard policy. Brilliant I was very happy with that I could feel the relief of knowing I was protected for the next 13 months combined.
Then the issue arose at the point of sale, he tried to select the start date as of April this year but the system wouldn’t let him do it it was only letting him go 1 month in the future. He asked a colleague in the sales office and they said don’t worry just to call back closer to the time of the end of the BMW warranty and he would just start it then. Roll on today I have rang Silsoe and asked them to activate the warranty as agreed and that was witnessed by both my partner and my friend who took us to collect the car and Aidan has informed me that he won’t do that and that Shaun is no longer with the company and as this agreement wasn’t written down that they will not honour it and if I want it I need to pay a further £399.00.
So to some up my experience yes I’m happy with the car that I got but I’m now very disappointed with the after care and the dishonest practices being done now. frustrating thing is that I’d actually called today to buy an Audi A1 that they have for sale for my partner and to activate the warranty and after this I don’t feel I can trust them to do business with again. If you decide to buy a car from here.
Please Please be careful and make sure everything is in writing as unfortunately for this company their word isn’t worth anything and they have very strict rules regarding any agreements not in writing although you don’t find that out until after you sign the agreement
This company does sell prestige cars. But that’s where it ends. they are scammers and liars play with the mileage so any car that your thinking of buying check your mileage and what’s on your receipt most important get an AA inspection. had the car six weeks going to cost me well over 5k which I can’t afford, not even driven 300 miles. I had premium warranty suspension isn’t covered.. I have a voice message from Shaun telling me it’s my fault because I didn’t get the garage to lie saying that suspension had failed when it was wear and tear. He knew 100% when he sold me the car the suspension was faulty and the tires were bold on the front with a split. And let me drive away in it. Really don’t know how he can sleep at night .
After the finance was sorted big thanks to Aiden and teez who were very helpful and guided me through the whole process i was very comfortable with ease and was taken out on a road test and the vehicle drove nicely and the condition of the vehicle was in mint condition.I managed to drive it away after the full process of completion.Would definately recommend that you use this company. Thanks guys
Where do I start, I attended site to pick up the car and immediately noticed that the front left tyre was below the minimum tread depth allowance and highlighted the issue to them. They offered to replace it at their “trusted” tyre shop. Regrettably, I didn’t verify the tyres condition after the works were carried out and left the shop with a damaged tyre that wouldn’t pass its next MOT. I then began the drive home and no longer than 20 miles up the road a “check engine light appeared”. I immediately called up the car dealers to which he explained “it’s most likely a sensor”. Following on from that conversation, when I got home, I began to look deeper into the cars history and I found out that the car has failed an MOT in 2022 for some sort of engine issue which I wasn't made aware of at the time of the sale. Conveniently, the 2022 MOT report, which would have made me aware of the previous engine issues and MOT failure was not presented in the log book and was missing. The next morning I rang the dealers today and spoke with Shaun. I told Shaun that I would only consider repair if it was carried out by Mercedes themselves, that way I have peace of mind of a legitimate detailed report of any underlying issues with the car and additionally, I would have peace of mind that the car has been repaired to an industry standard, to which he declined. Although I understand this isn't standard procedure, due to all of the issues I have encountered in the 70 miles I have driven since the sale, I assumed they would be in my corner wanting to rectify the issues and make the situation right, sadly this was not the case. The "inspection report" conducted by Silsoe "Prestige" Motors document states that there are no issues with the car prior to the sale, leading me to believe that this inspection wasn't carried out at all, as mentioned earlier I noticed myself that the front left tyre was below tread depth requirements so it makes me question the legitimacy and integrity of these so called "inspections" they carry out prior to the sale.
Further to this, when I reported the issue was still on going the following day to the dealership I was instructed to ignore the check engine light and carry on driving the car as it’s “most likely a sensor”. To which I obviously objected to, it would be stupid to carry on driving a vehicle with no diagnosis of the issue, in addition if the vehicle broke down in the process not only would I have to fund the recovery of the vehicle, but I assume I would also be liable under negligence if any further damage was caused to the vehicle.
Might I add that the cars they have on sale are often joy ridden up and down there little road, they will most likely claim in the reply that “they are moving the cars into different spaces”, but the fact of the matter is they’re driving the cars like they own them, pistons screaming on what is supposed to be a 10mph road.
With regret, I didn’t read the reviews of this dealership prior to the sale, but hopefully someone will read my experience and choose to go elsewhere as the customer service post sale is diabolical. Again, in the reply to this review they will most likely try to claim everything is done by the book and that somehow i’m the route of the problem as I didn’t choose to take it to some poxy garage where they are most likely understaffed and overworked, rushing all the projects they have to reduce there work load. It’s not a coincidence that 38% of the reviews of this dealership are all customers who experienced the same thing as I did. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE!
Great service and fast paperwork was in and out of the dealership within the hour.
Bought my Audi S8 two months ago, lovely car, good service from Shaun and the team at Silsoe.
Shaun was very helpful and the process was very swift. Happy with my new car 😀
Great customer service and very professional
I Purchased a used BMW X5M 2017. Awesome management from the team and the car itself looks, feels and sounds like it came off the shelf TODAY. Very reasonable price, excellent service (considering I picked up the car after closing time ... they waited for me to complete the transaction).
Excellent team, quality cars and quality service.
Regards,
Des
Terrible customer service, lies about what they’ve done with the car, only like being contacted by WhatsApp, I would definitely not use this dealership again, I even had to remind them a week and a half later to send logbook.
The staff at silsoe motors are very helpful and professional. They are accommodating and polite. They can source any vehicle you request in a reasonable timeframe. I recently purchased my RS4 from them. Top service. Highly recommended!
Brought my second car from Silsoe prestige motors. And once again the service has been absolutely outstanding from start to finish.Had an issue with my PX, and Shaun the salesman was fantastic and we came to an agreement that myself and the dealership were both happy with.Highly recommend this company if you are looking for a prestige/ Performance car. These guys know there stuff, and go above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy. Also I would like to mention the buyer of there vehicles.A guy called Yassa very genuine guy who buys some fantastic stock. All in all 5 stars from me,and will definitely be back in the future.
