From day 1 brilliant service
From day one, Lucy Dixon at Sills & Betteridge LLP has been amazing. I was feeling under a lot of pressure and unsure about starting the process, but when I called Lucy, she immediately put me at ease by saying, "Anande, don't take any pressure. I am your solicitor and I am working for you, not for anyone else." These words were incredibly comforting and made me feel confident that she had my best interests at heart.
After a few days, I decided to proceed and asked Lucy to start the work. She reassured me once again, saying she was there for any issues that might arise. From beginning to end, Lucy was brilliant—always supportive and available.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Sanjeve once at the Nottingham branch. His explanation of the process was clear, calm, and organized, which left a lasting impression on me. His professionalism and demeanor stood out, and I felt reassured that I was in good hands.
Together, Lucy and Sanjeve provided outstanding service, and no other solicitors compare to their level of dedication and expertise. I highly recommend Lucy Dixon and Sanjeve for any legal work—they are truly brilliant.

Delay, delay, abort, wasted time and money.
Almost 1 year after I contracted Sills Legal (previously Campions) to deal with a simple lease extension for a flat, out of the blue they decided to abort this work.
This follows months of me chasing them for updates because they are not pro-active and they can go weeks without telling me what progress is being made or where the delays are.
To add insult to injury, I also need to pay abortive costs now which will likely be hundreds of pounds and 1 year later, I have nothing to show for it.
What a waste of my time and effort. This is money down the drain.
I regret the day I ever came across this firm. I will NEVER do business with this company again.

Worst experience with house buying
Worst experience with house buying
They don’t understand the requirements of proof of income investigation and they spent weeks investigating every single transaction in my back statements and coming up with more queries after submitting like a hundred of documents with no insights or common sense approach
I think they misunderstand their role as money launder full investigation rather than ensuring the source of income
I think Chloe is a trainee who misunderstand rules and over interpret requirements or did not have experience with cash buyers
I had to withdraw after many week of non sense and unreasonable endless queries
I will never use them again

Blacklisted as a client when I challenged their pricing strategy.
I commissioned this company (Lincoln Branch) to complete conveyancing on a property sale. When the sale aborted their fees were, in my opinion, unreasonable given the overall work completed, their responsiveness and the value-add when buyers solicitors submitted questions that they had the information to answer, but simply passed to me to respond instead. We reached a more reasonable settlement for work completed and I paid. The house then sold again and I asked the estate agent to re-instruct Sills and Betteridge Lincoln. The target to complete was 4 weeks. 2 weeks in, I took it upon myself to seek an update on progress. At this point it emerged that they 'ignored' the estate agent instruction and would not handle my case - because I challenged them I was, in effect, blacklisted as a future client. I was not informed of this when we reached a resolution. Now I find myself 2 weeks in to the 4 week deadline with nothing done and having to find a new solicitor. Hopefully I will not lose the buyer. I am glad I challenged them in the first place though.

I made an appointment at Campions…
I made an appointment at Campions solicitors approximately 6 weeks ago. On the day of my appointment I was telephoned and had my appointment cancelled due to some issues they we hving due to moving to a new building. I was told that they would contact me with a new appointment date. This was understandable and all fine with me.
6 weeks on they have not made contact with me and I find this very unacceptable, especially from a solicitors
Farewell Campions, thank you.
I would like to thank you for your help throughout the house purchase. I am very pleased of the standard of service through Campions/Sills and Betteridge and will not hesitate to recommend you.
Zenani Thomas was an excellent solicitor and was great and liaising between both sides of the house purchase. She was very informative and professional. Thank you so very much.
Special thanks to Mikey, Janine, Rosie, Red teams and everyone involved.
Campions Solicitors has been a rock in Nottingham for many years and was recommended to me by my mother who used them for her house purchase too 20 years ago! I wish them all the best in their future ventures.
Would not recommend
I engaged Campions Solicitors for a lease extension because they were reasonably less expensive and had good reviews. It wasn't a straight forward case initially as there were issues regarding the Building Safety Act that put me at risk as a leaseholder.
The only advice I was provided for a long time was that Campions were not able to recommend proceeding on this basis.
Fortunately I followed the issue myself to it's resolution in October 2023 as I had received no updates from Campions.
When I then questioned them about now being able to complete, they refused to give satisfactory answers.
I have had to chase and repeatedly seek answers from Campions every step of the way since then.
More than once they have blamed the other side for delays which I later found to be untrue.
My matter completed in January 2024 and I am still waiting to see copies of the completed paperwork.
I really would not recommend them.
I used Campions for a leasehold sale…
I used Campions for a leasehold sale and am very thankful to the team, especially Josie Cutter, for all their help during an extremely drawn out process (the fault of the management company not Campions).
Contacted Sills about family law…
Contacted Sills about family law matter, with costly letters sent to another solicitor. After 6 months of association with Sills I was no further forward. I had emails ignored, with no response. I sent a C100 form to be checked prior to submitting to court. After 4 weeks I asked for an update, to my surprise it hadn’t even been looked at by my solicitor. I received a response from his partner which was on the lines of “sorry it’s not been looked at, I can look at it today but it will cost you. Rather than receiving any empathy , I just felt like a customer who was paying for a poor service. In their final email they stated you are further forward, you have had mediation. Yes, but that had no input or assistance from yourselves!! Had to make the decision to seek other legal representation.

Avoid this firm!
Poor advice from trainee regarding property sale. Very poor communication with long delays. Not much improvement even after complaining to the MD. Sale fell through in the end.
I cannot recommend this organisation - avoid.
Useless
Had 2 phone discussions, they're just plain ignorant. They're short on basic facts so I went with another law firm who I gave 5 stars.
Fantastic 1st time buyer experience
I had a fantastic experience from Campions on my 1st purchase using a mortgage from Halifax (September 2023!).
My case was handled by Red Team, really appreciate the effort that has been put thorough for the over all smooth purchase experience.
Josie, Mikey & Zen has been very helpful & responsive throughout the journey.
I had some fund from overseas for this purchase so my "source of fund" check was complex & took time.
I must say that Zoe from onboarding team demonstrated a lot of patience & helped me to complete the onboarding process.
I would highly recommend Campions for a smooth 1st time buying experience with a reasonable fees.
