After only a few uses their lens broke

After only a few uses, my Sigma ART 35mm DG DN broke. One of the standoffs inside the lens broke. As an engineer, I personally fixed the lens so that it will work. But it will never be whole. The standoff that broke made the lens wobbly. I repaired it as bes possible with replacing the entire assembly on which the plastic/ABS standoff broke. I have owned a number of Sigma lenses. They are treated professionally, and kept in hard cases with foam cut to their exact dimensions. I noticed the lens had been broken 3 weeks out of warranty. They refused to fix it. They said my repair violated their warranty policy, but if the lens was no longer under warranty, after they told me they wouldn't repair their faulty product. After my repair, the wobble is 95% repaired, and the lens works as it is supposed to, mostly. But it still has a broken standoff. Sigma is meant to be a premium off-brand for Lumix full-frame cameras. I have Sirui lenses, which are less expensive, and have a much higher build quality. They will get my business moving forward.

Never Never Again

Sigma has boasted about its top quality lenses for a while now. I spent a fortune on buying a number of their top of the range lenses over the last several years. However now, to my disgust, I find that their new telephoto release the SPORTS 300–600mm F4
DG OS
has not been released in Nikon format just Sony and L mount. So for thousands of us Nikon users we are denied access to this lens unless we pay nearly $400 extra for an adapter. This is in my humble opinion a disgrace and the end of my dealings with this company. This is I believe a total betrayal of Sigma/Nikon users alike. Sigma you should be ashamed of yourselves!!!!
