Fraud and Scam. They just deducted money from my bank account without authorization. I never subscribed to them. This service is not even available in my country South Africa. How the hell can they just deduct fees from my bank account. This is outright fraud and theft. At least got a response from them saying I should lay a complaint of fraud with my bank and see if my bank will refund me. This company should be sued for what they are doing!

Somehow charged having NEVER heard of the company service it anything else to do with it in Australia.

I am absolutely disgusted with this financial abuse. My bank account was charged without even subscribing to this platform!!! I do not have an account on Shudder, and my video prime account does not show that I have any additional connected channels. Also, I cannot even log into the Shudder account to cancel unauthorised subscriptions because I have never even opened my account!!! I have never even heard about Shudder in my entire life.

These are one of the most disgusting companies I have ever come across!! I was subscribed to these when I didn't even subscribe, it happened through my Amazon account, how I don't know! I would never have purposely subscribed to this crap when I have Now tv, Netflix, Disney Plus and Prime! I also hear they respond to nobody when sending emails and are terrible to contact! Period. £4.99 from my account for nothing! What a waste and will be surprised if they last long from what I've just looked at!

It is not bad but has little choice. On other similar platforms (such as HODTV, Amazon Prime, Tubi) you can find better in my opinion.

I came to shudder, because they keep plastering the original Halloween movie poster all over the place in their ads and pop up as a place to watch it online. Like they have it... I may be olf-fashioned but it's called 'false advertising' and there are laws against that.

Cancelled after 1-2 films, purely because the selection was abysmal. I love the idea of a horror-centric exclusive platform, but I think they pride themselves of the "exclusive" tag abit too much.

Connection wise, it's been fine, and cancelling my trial was easy (Although im now aware of the post-cancellation charges some people have made) But for the most part, it's not a service I can recommend with it's minimal library.

Wish I’d looked at the Trust Pilot reviews before I went for a free trial I only did so because I was looking for a particular box set that Shudder advertised they had on Google but then on the app did not! Cancelled free trial straight away and have still been charged! Cancelled again and took screenshot as evidence. Looking at some of the reviews where shudder persistently take money after cancellation I shall be contacting my bank...may have to get a new card!
Shudder you should be ashamed of your conduct and website shut down! 1 star is the lowest but if I could give minus below 0 I would! **UPDATE** - I contacted my Bank to cancel my card and told them why, they sent me a link to submit a card dispute which took less than a minute. As standard to submit the claim my Bank required I contact Shudder requesting a refund and I also advised them I had raised a dispute with my Bank and my Bank would be contacting them in any event. Lol…refund dropped into my account two days later 👍🏽

Bad... There are better services than this that make sooo horror

I love horror. Not only do I watch, but I make horror films.

Shudder has some great originals, and other content that can usually be found on the cheaper service too.

That said, their billing, customer service, and Android dev team aren't just lacking, they've been sucked into the void and replaced with real life evil.

I've been charged and locked out, charged double, charged and never given access, and now charged and kicked out halfway through my billing because I stopped auto pay.

Not to mention the android app is nearly unusable. Not chromecast compatible as advertised. Constant lag and freeze. I could imagine nly watch their live events on my phone or fire stick.

But I'm a huge horror and Joe Bob fan, so I keep coming back for abuse and to miss what little extra cash I have away.

Because right now I paid for a service that still should have 2 weeks left on, but alas

Tltr: Shudder likes to take money and not provide the service they were paid for.

Update: They admit they screwed up. Told me to subscribe for another month and they'd add the missing weeks. Unfortunately, I already feel like I'm getting scammed.

Good luck Joe Bob Briggs, but I can't keep giving charity to this company. Removing all Shudder originals from my blueray wish lists and officially boycotting.

SCAM - taking unauthorised payments for 6 months, raised a complaint, then they continued to do the same... DO NOT GIve THESE PEOPLE YOUR FINANCIAL INFORMATION

I am gonna keep true to my word. They told me how to fix the problem. Now I will give them a better rating. They do have a good selection of movies. However if you are looking for mainstream only horror flicks then you are gonna be wasting yer time. That said: Unless you have had a pure awful experience I would say give em a shot.

They have awful movies. Too many foreign movies. Most of the movies have horrible actors and are very low budget films with ridiculous stories.

I had to create an account for a film my lecturer wanted me to watch, so got the 7 days free trial. After using the site, I deleted my membership yet I still got charged months after. I've canceled it again and applied for a replacement bank card so hopefully, they'll stop charging me. It's an absolute scam and completely illegal.

If I could leave 0 star for customer service I would. Kept charging me for months after I canceled my membership, so I finally had to just cancel my whole bank card and get a new one so they didn't have my card info. Customer service basically told me to go F*** myself and said to bad for you and that I must have used a 3rd party when I signed up so I have to cancel with them, when I specifically remember signing up on the shudder website.

All summed up customer service had absolutely zero ambitions of helping correct this problem and was completely fine with SHUDDER exploiting this issue and continuing to steal money from people.

An absolute garbage of a platform, how could they call themselves shudder and capitalise on the horror genre with only a limited number of movies. NOT to mention the bad movies, really lame cheap horrors with no depth. There are not even a full library of classics (freddy, jason, hellraiser etc.) the exclusives are full of bad acting and cheap effects. Please please please do not subscribe, just apply for a free trial and then cancel in a few days and they will give you another month free. Netflix has better horrors than this platform.

This needs to be improved by adding a LOT more classic horrors, new horrors and different types of horrors. As a horror fan, the only thing I shudder at is the monthly price for a lame platform.

Really lame horror movies none had heard of. B rate at best or foreign rubbish. Don’t waste your $

A little overpriced considering they don't update the movie library often enough, but a decent addition to my other streaming services.

This website is an absolute scam! I signed up for an account over a year ago, entered my credit card info, but I was never able to login or use my account because of a website error. It said my account never existed and I could not log in and that my email was not in the system, even after I received two confirmation emails for creating an account. However they kept my card on file somehow and have been charging it since January 2020!!! I can’t retrieve a password because “my account doesn’t exist” but that hasn’t stopped them from charging me. I emailed support but have yet to hear back
