Scam artists

Scam artists! Told my partner she needed new tyres, discs and pads …etc for it to pass its MOT (She only went in for an oil change). Car had its MOT today (At a reputable local garage) and passed with flying colours … told them the concerns that Sheltune had raised and they were shocked! Safe to say we won’t be using Sheltune again.

Sheltune Filth. Scammers

Took my car here for a new battery. The battery ended up being the least of my concerns!

They replaced the battery but highlighted that there was also water ingress into the boot. I authorised the repair.

I returned two days later and a £570 bill. The arrogant, how dare you question me individual at the desk, assured me all was corrected and I'm sorted. For the first time, I reviewed the 4 months interest free option that the garage offered and I took advantage of, there was a £39 admin charge. I asked what that was, I was informed that the interest free company that I bought into charged the garage £39 for the transaction, therefore the garage added on £39 to my bill to compensate themselves.

Day later whilst having my car valeted, I was informed that there is a prolific water ingress problem into the boot. ( the boot contains all the elec controls and the fuse box. ( Merc 220D AMG Coupe )

Returned to Shelltune Northampton immediately, felt like they treated the moment as tho it was wholly my fault now. My car remained there for a full n further 5 days whilst they corrected the water ingress. Then picked up by me.

2 days later, opened the boot, water ingress everywhere still. Plus, the trim is hanging down within the boot. They did not return the trim covers as they were when they arrived with them. They are just hanging down from the boot lid. Mind honestly blown..

CUSTOMER BEWARE.. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF N SMILE AS YOU LEAVE.

Genuinly saddened n shocked. Update... Finance company has refunded me £39

Really wanted this garage to be upstanding, they are less than a mile from my home, I wanted to make them my go to garage. They are currently, scammers.

1) Had a flat tyre from a nail early May 2024. Managed to get enough air in the tyre to get car to depot in Boothville. They put on a new tyre as original not repairable. Good, swift and helpful and fair price.
2). Picked up another nail in the new tyre (above). Couldn't inflate it and no spare carried. Phoned Sheltune. Fitter came out to me at home (about a mile and a half away), couldnt inflate tyre, removed wheel, took it back to depot, removed nail, repaired tyre, brought it back and replaced it on car. Courteous, understanding and helpful, and the charge was way below what I expected. Thank you, Aaron and Kyle.

I used this garage on couple of…

I used this garage on couple of ocassions whilist I lived in Northampton

- Decent enough on MOT, but they once failed a brake pipe that was 2 years old, I replaced it and took it back for retest as it wasnt worth it arguing.

- Altough waiting in the reception ive overheard a number of conversations behind the main desk and unfortunately as much as it is a lovely facility, its just a money making factory, hearing stuff like "it is not financially wise to give out that advice" really put me off that place.

- I give it 3 stars as I was never a high earning customer for them, therefore my feedback isnt all that bad, mainly because I repair my own vehicles.
- On one ocassion there was a Liquiy Moly rep visiting and trying to sell their oil, but the lovely lady wasnt interested, she wasnt interested in oil norms/specs, she was only interested in the cost of barrel and argued that she buys her stuff for fraction of price, the guy soon left.

Interesting place really if you think of it

Got married last year & moved to…

Got married last year & moved to northampton, mrs recommended sheltune as she's been there for years but i was resistant as i have a good garage in MK and i spent a lot of time going through dodgy garage's to find a reliable one but i took my car in there for an oil leak under her recommendation.

It cost me £395 to fix but I still had the leak took it back when I could afford to some months later cost me another £595 because it was a "different leak".

It still leaks!!!

Sheltune are too expensive to take it back there again i don't feel there is value for money spent. Surely they would check that there wasn't any more leaks?

Once I'll give them the benefit of the doubt but not twice.

I feel that they are incompetent and I don't trust them.

I just wanted the oil leak fixed! Mrs says to take it back & complain, but i they will only tell me that its a different leak again. I'll go back to a garage I can trust.

Untrustworthy

They used to be a good reliable company, Not anymore. Gave me a quote over the phone which I carefully wrote down. When they had the car they claimed some of the work was not included, which was a lie. In that situation I agreed the extra rather than retrieve my car and have the hassle of going elsewhere. I was overcharged a large amount. Avoid them, go elsewhere.

Gone down hill. No longer trust worthy

I used to have an excellent experience of this garrage but last two visits over last 2 yrs... I felt ripped off. The labour charge was disproportionate and suspect mot findings not real. I paid up, said nothing but won't be going back. I checked the bill with a friend who confirmed labour cost too high

Stay away unless you want to be ripped…

Stay away unless you want to be ripped off !!!
My daughter stupidly pulled into Sheltune and asked some advise on her brakes
4 new brakes pads and caliber
He said needed doing
Baring in mind there was no advisory on mot )
She let them go ahead and do the job
To my absolute disgust !!!
They never even showed her the wear apparently that was discovered..

The following day she could hear a knocking noise coming from the car
I told her to take it back to the garage she bought it from as it was still under warranty not even thinking it was anything to do with the work she had just done at this retched garage .

It showed there was no bolts on the caliber and I had photo evidence .
The bolts on the caliber was not put
on !!! 🤬

So off I went to the ‘rip off garage ‘ to show how incompetent this was could of been very dangerous.

The manager didn’t even apologise
And just said it needed to be bought back to the garage
Yeah haha after just ripping her off £700 for brakes that didn’t even need fitting !!!!
But of cause I was being sarcastic he told me ..
not only that this could of caused a catastrophic accident for there stupidity blasé incompetence attitude !!!

Also may I add the manager there is a complete and utter greedy nob!!
Who knows nothing only just to take you’re hard earned money
B****** 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

I will be letting trading standards and all social media!!! I’m not finished yet

Bunch of &@£)/!

Bunch of @£&£&)! I was unfortunate enough to have work done on my van twice in two weeks. Mot done with issues corrected - drove off and the backing plate was rubbing on the brakes - returned and was fixed. The second visit also involved having the wheels off and the exact same thing happened! I will be going somewhere where they have some actual mechanics next time. Muppets
