Tommy Pidgeon is the salesman who dealt…

Tommy Pidgeon is the salesman who dealt with my purchase of a 2018 Sportage which I collected this week. Gave me lots of time to look at several vehicles before I decided, then plenty of time to test drive the one I chose. Told and showed me all the attributes of the vehicle, and Shelley's after sales service. I am very pleased with the vehicle and the service Tommy provided. Top marks!

Best car-buying experience ever

Excellent service from start to finish. Salesman Tommy was pleasant and efficient and his line manager was great. The new car (second-hand to me) was exactly what I wanted and beautifully presented when I picked it up. By far the best car-buying experience I have ever had.

Missing wheel nuts!!!

My second hand Ceed from Shelly Motors just blew a tyre and I have had to call my breakdown cover. I’m very upset to find there are no wheel nuts in the wheel nut box! It’s now Saturday afternoon and the Shelly Motors service department have gone home and cannot help locate wheel nuts. Breakdown repair cannot replace the tyre. So, the car is stuck. Imagine if I was on my own at night in the middle of nowhere? Luckily I’m not.

Shelly Motors tell me that the car passed its health check when it was sold to me and that means it had wheel nuts. Obviously not!!!

I can’t drive, can’t change the wheel and have no idea how this will be resolved. (Incidentally, the cruise control doesn’t work either.)

You CANNOT rely on the health check claims of second cars bought here. Be VERY cautious.

I very much hope on Monday that they will acknowledge their error and culpability, compensate me for extra towing and loss of earnings and replace the wheel nuts! I will report what happens next…

Genuinely have to say this was the best…

Genuinely have to say this was the best car buying experience I have had. New Niro EV purchased without feeling pressured, took a few days to decide and wasn’t hassled at all. Definitely would recommend Shelly Motors and if you really want looking after ask for Tommy.

Purchase of our Kia picanto

The whole experience was made to feel enjoyable. Tommy Pidgeon talked us through every stage of the process and explained everything in great detail, each question no matter how trivial was answered with patience and in a most pleasant manner.

Friendly and pleasant

Went to Shelly’s looking for a new car, loved the look of KIAs so decided to pop in, i was greeted with a smile and offered tea/coffee while I looked around, the sales team weren’t pushy and guided me through the vehicles with ease, I left feeling comfortable and confident I chose the right vehicle for me, sportage GT line. Since then I have been back for my annual service and again greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff from front of house and workshop.

Do not visit shally motors after sale no value for customer.

I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding the after-sales service experience I recently encountered at your dealership. On February 15th, 2024, I took delivery of a Kia Niro Trim 3 from your establishment, expecting a satisfactory level of service throughout the post-purchase process.

Unfortunately, my experience with your after-sales staff left much to be desired. Firstly, I found them to be lacking in both knowledge and experience, which was evident during my inquiries about the paint protection work promised during the purchase. Despite assurances from your staff during the delivery, there was a lack of follow-up, and subsequent attempts to contact Shally Motors via phone calls, emails, and the website's live messaging system yielded no response.

After persistent attempts, I finally managed to book an appointment for the paint protection work, only to find upon my visit that the sales agent who initially assisted me was unavailable. Instead, I was met by another staff member who displayed aggressive behavior and failed to treat me as a valued customer. His dismissive attitude, coupled with remarks about selling the car at a loss, was not only unprofessional but entirely irrelevant to the issue at hand.

Furthermore, the staff member's raised behavior and lack of respect towards me as a customer were unacceptable. It is imperative that all staff members uphold a standard of professionalism and courteousness in their interactions with customers, regardless of any internal concerns.

Additionally, I feel compelled to inform you that based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Shally Motors to others seeking to purchase a vehicle. The treatment I received from your staff was deeply disappointing and does not reflect the level of service that customers should expect from a reputable dealership.

Finally, I would like to request that all necessary information and arrangements be made clear to customers before their visit to Shally Motors. Clear communication about appointment details and any prerequisites for service would greatly improve the customer experience and prevent unnecessary inconvenience.

As a customer, I expect a certain standard of professionalism and service quality, both of which were sorely lacking in this instance. The after-sales experience at Shally Motors fell short of my expectations and left a negative impression.

I hope that this feedback serves as an opportunity for improvement within your dealership's after-sales service department. Customers should feel valued and supported throughout the entirety of their ownership experience, and I trust that Shally Motors can take the necessary steps to ensure that future customers do not encounter similar frustrations.

We visited Shelly Motors Epsom twice

We visited Shelly Motors Epsom twice, and both times we received excellent service from Ellie.

The first visit, we were hoping to make a purchase as we saw one online the day before, and was not sure it would still be there when we arrive the next day, but luckily for us, it was.

On arrival, we were told we had to wait for a while, as we did not make an appointment, but within 30/45 minutes we were seen by Ellie.

Ellie was very friendly, professional, helpful and attentive and made us feel at ease, and once we saw the vehicle, we knew, this was it, it is so beautiful, we made the purchase there and then.

On the second visit with Ellie, to collect our purchase Ellie went over the paperwork in detail and explained everything, and asked us several times, if we had any questions or concerns, and she answered all our silly questions that we asked, and we left very happy, and a few pounds lighter.

All in all, our visit to Kia Epsom was fantastic, and so was ELLIE.

We have read a lot of reviews regarding issues and experiences others have had at KIA Epsom, and we too will add comments if we have anything to report.

But for now we can only comment on the way we were treated over the 2 weeks we have visited KIA Epsom, and it's all been WONDERFUL.

Avoid monthly service plan

Have been using car service and MOT for years and also was on their monthly service plan. That's fine. When needed to renew it, told them that not to renew it since I was planning to sell out my car due to ULEZ but I was assured that the plan shall be refunded in that case. When the car was sold out, contacted them to cancel the plan and to get a refund. The sales staff acknowledged that T&C was not clear about cancellation and fees around it and said that would raise with the manager. Well, just took a month while having numerous emails and calls and then was told eventually that no full refund and there was admin fee and etc. Paid £105.88 and got £32.08 back for nothing. Well, spend time to write a review here because hope others not to have the same.

Customer care, what care?

Bought a brand new Kia Niro EV at over 40k. Have had the car two and a half years with 5k miles yes thats right 5k miles, with full service history too. I was thinking of going down a size so asked about a PX, I was offered 20k, less than half of what I paid against a brand new smaller Kia EV, you can guess my reaction, even We Buy Any Car offered me more and no PX!
Then a few weeks later Kia said that my car needed a product enhancement, recall in other words! Shelly motors do not offer a collection service for recalls! I approached the manager of Shellys Epsom and his reply was that it wasn't cost effective, my reply "Surely buying a car from you should include anything that is under warranty"? I also said that it wouldn't encourage anyone to buy another Kia car, his reaction was to flippantly raise his arms as if to say "Tough"!
So much for keeping customers happy and loyal! WOULD I BUY ANOTHER KIA ... WOULD I #!@% ?!!
