Very clear instructions and very patient tutor, I really enjoyed it, came away having finished a basic sewing project with a Tote bag. I will be re-booking to try my hand with another project

Mercedes was so lovely and patient and explained things very clearly. I am so happy with what I created and also I feel confident at having a go using my sewing machine at home.

My sister and I went to Sew In Brighton for a 2.5 hour beginners session. We had a great time! Great tuition from Mel - we both came away happy having made a bag and a cushion between us. I would highly recommend and we are hoping to go back to complete another project soon!

I’ve attended a few different workshops here and loved them all - beginner one day sewing, drop in sewing, and the beginners crochet course.

Fantastic 1:1 session with Kat to help me fit a top I was struggling with. She was so knowledgeable and gave me lots of great advice which I can use on future projects too.

I really enjoyed the pattern cutting day course. Tuition was excellent and tutor very patient and approachable. Small group meant you didn't wait long if you needed help. Everything needed was provided and hand-outs were very good.

Did a pattern replicate workshop so I can remake my favourite trousers in other colours. Elaine our tutor was fantastic, so knowledgable, amazing patience and fun. I will be returning to do some stitch classes and hopefully some others

I am a totally newbie and turned up to class hoping that I would come away having some idea how to use a sewing machine. To my amazement I came away with a pretty awesome, usable tote bag. Elaine was my tutor and she was so kind and patient with me, she explained everything that I needed to do. She was amazing!

I had a great Stitch! lesson. I was refreshing my beginner /intermediate skills and made a tote bag in one lesson. Went back and made a zipped purse in one more lesson. Thanks, Mel! :)

I had never used an overlocker before and was very puzzled by the threading. I feel much more confident now and look forward to using the machine.
The teaching was in a small group with lots of individual attention.

I really enjoyed my sewing lesson to make a tote bag. Great material to choose from and everything available that you may need. Kat was very knowledgeable and friendly and was very helpful in her emails to set up my session.

I had a one to one beginners class at home with Mel. She was very calm and reassuring as she helped me get to grips with my new computerised sewing machine. By the end of the session we had made a zip fastened bag. Thoroughly recommended.

Attended the "Love your overlocker" course on Sat 28th May. Run by Hannah it was brilliant for me as an experienced sewer but never having used an overlocker in my life! I can't wait to get one now and would highly recommend the course, and by association the whole business to everyone. They were also very helpful when I had to cancel my attendance previously due to health issues.

Absolutely loved the beginner knitting course I took last month. Have been trying to learn for years, and now I can't stop knitting! Have made so many things (successfully!) and it's all thanks to the course. Thank you so much!

Just had my first experience of the Sew in Brighton Sewing School – and it was great! With only six students in the group, we got lots of one-to-one attention from our excellent tutor, Phil. He was very skilled, knowledgeable and patient in helping us how to create a pattern by replicating a favourite garment. All the high-quality equipment you need is provided (including tea and coffee!) and there's plenty of it so no hanging around waiting. Thank you for a really informative day in a friendly environment.
