I have been on SL for nine years
I have been on SL for nine years. The negative is it can be a little daunting when you first arrive and dont know how to do things. I was lucky in that someone gave me a few pointers. It is a comunity and is a second life and has great things to do such as sailing and flying , live performeres and lots of varied comunities. Yes some are adult but you dont have to go their just like the real world. I have not tried to make money on SL and I spend money because I wnat a super avatar and like my fashion with hundreds of clothing stores. I alos pay for a beach side home. Just keep to a budget. I have never been scammed and you just have to be careful like in the real world. The quality of the graphics is constantly improving and is good enough for me . I have made friend with people all over the world. Its a great social place and tought me about other cultures. Because its global you find things get busy at certain times depending what time zones your in. I love it . Its not for everyone but ticks my boxes.
The only MMO 3D app in the world that…
The only MMO 3D app in the world that wasn't a PC game, but a social chat with avatars you would like to be.
This is the only alternative to almost everything from every MMO 3D game on Steam like Tower Unite or Garry's Mod, but with furries without sexual theming.
Few thing I liked and disliked is you'll need to know when it comes to earn Lindens while waiting for your avatars to buy.
First thing is when you are grinding for money at either AFK areas or night clubs. At best when you earned Lindens, you'll be bored. But at worst, you'll feel so impatient to get tips when mods just removed you from dance pole and tip jars.
Another thing that Second Life lacked the most is the gift card that lets you either have premium membership or earning Lindens for $25.
I really wish the gift cards will be implemented in the future.
Wonderful game
Wonderful game, I really like to play. I can recommend it to everybody: you do not need to invest money, but can play it for free.
Although second life can be boring if…
Although second life can be boring if you don't have friends or make friends to explore and hang with, it can be fun if you do and there are many places in the game to explore and things to do. I personally love the magic community in the game. I love a good magic HUD.
Not for the average player
I was a long-time resident and saw a lot of things come and go. Nowadays there is mesh but it is still endlessly laggy. Areas with complex textures take ages to load. Even in 2024, teleport-crashes occur on a very regular base. The User interface is still unwieldy, alone how the inventory is built is a mess on its own.
Second Life once had a social aspect, but that is long gone. A lot of sims are just empty. Ghost towns. Social “activities” almost no longer exist, a lot (most) of things are reduced to pornography and pixel tinder. There are some role play sims whose role play is - of course - only about sex. As a woman walking around in fetish fashion or even underwear 24/7 is a normal thing there. It is how it is: The main focus lays on adult activities. There is a reason why Second Life is not allowed to be streamed on Twitch.
A lot of things only happen at big shopping events (if you are not paid premium and those sims are full - you often must wait one or two days until you are able to enter the sim, there is a special type of player prefered in that virtual world and those have preferred access.) where you can buy your sexy clothes to "fit in" or on photogenic sims where people shoot their avatar and upload their pictures onto flickr. If you are a landlord or a"talented creator" maybe you make some rl money. Talented means: Learn to Blender. Or to create a realistic skin. If you are offering sexual pixel services, maybe you can earn money too. That's it. If you doing none of these you will pay your rl money into it to have a decent updated avatar and land. Land is not free. People are highly picky on avatars. If your avatar seems "outdated", some prefer not to talk to you. Well, there goes your money. Gachas are gone but of course those creators had a solution and those things have a slightly different mechanic now. Still dangerous for people with a high addictive behavior.
There ARE some normal activities to do but not as much as the other ones. Just try the search function and you'll see what is more popular. Years ago that was more balanced.
There is hardly any fresh player base anymore. Just around 40K Boomers/Gen-Xers (alts and bots included) who want to feel young/ enjoy pixel sexual activities, logging on a daily base year after year.
Conclusion:
Second Life is a niche product for special players AND creators who are fullfilling the desires of the players for an everlasting youth and a "high potent" pixel love life. Not for children or teenagers, not for sensitive viewers.
-Creativity: It's not like you do log in the first time and build everything straight away. To earn Lindön$ by creating, you need skill. You can buy things and decorate them beautifully, but everything beautiful costs money.
- A lot of "communities" are toxic. It's a "Second Life", there is the same elbow mentality as in real life, maybe even more in "fast motion"
- People with a "past" can get retraumatized at some places. There is no moderation anywhere. Play at your own risk.
- For social aspect SL had it's times but they are over or very hard to find.
- And last but not least: Customer service rarely exists. It is reserved for premium users (and even there it's not fully available), who have to pay monthly. If you get banned - you'll stay banned. And all your future accounts too. If you ask them for what you got banned you will get a "friendly" answer to leave and never come back. It doesn't matter how many years you played or how many Lindön$ were put into this account. It's gone. Without explanation. Did not happen to me but to a friend.
What to do? It's better to switch to other, moderated mmos/ virtual worlds.
Skill Game
Today I want to share my experience about this place. It’s no secret that games based on the so-called gaming skill are well established in the community among those who spend time in social or regular games. About some places it is necessary to make send reports separately because using their power they can openly be fraudsters. We will talk about such a possible fraudster in this post.
If a problem arises with the place for one reason or another, you are asked to fill out a form that implies a message about possible problems, as a rule, you can send this to both the bot and the group owner, and they ask you to wait a few hours, in this case it took more than 72 hours.
Having carefully examined the place that is under contract with the operator SarahJanehh SLSGO - but in this case, despite the operator whose activities are controlled by the group and the founder (who asks not to send him any messages or textures), you will encounter the problem of looping.
You will not be able to receive anything until they answer you, so if more than 72 hours have passed and they have not found a way to contact you, they have violated the game agreement. They can do nothing and continue to live with impunity and, in fact, no one will know that they deserved what they deserved.
My message to SarahJanehh Resident
[2024/03/19 13:40] Fox Seibert: well next. since you are the official founder of the group and all transactions go through you, then my message is addressed to you too, I didn’t want to do this but after waiting 72 hours, I have no choice.
[2024/03/19 13:41] Fox Seibert: In your official order, I sent a message to your bot and employee, after 72 hours I received nothing.
[2024/03/19 13:46] Fox Seibert: no answer and no money, and since you are responsible, if you ignore this, it will be taken into account, you have given certain guarantees and taken responsibility, if you shirk this responsibility, then it is not my fault, contact your bot for all the details. The wait will take twenty-four hours, but know this wait is not required if there are actions and consequences.
[2024/03/19 13:46] Fox Seibert: Thank you for your cooperation.

I do not recommend this place; moreover, write to support immediately and if support answers you, then this is a more or less honest place. These people don't care - SarahJanehh Resident and his operator SarahJanehh SLSGO

pass this one
I"ve joined this so many times to try and understand it and it never worked. The culture of this platform is something I've never experienced and not in a good way. SInce its user based and not controlled by Linden Labs, its a complicated world.
Regular users do try and help new people out so that's one positive thing but the majority of people on it are stalkers, pedophiles, and people looking to scape their own life which is bad.
I wouldn't reommend it in 2023 as a fun, virtual experience, there are only 40-50k people on it daily and half are bots.
FAKE VIVIENNE WESTWOOD
Be aware that the have a fake Vivienne Westwood that charged literally as expensive as the real one. I am not sure about the shop name but somethings like futks. And yes I got scammed by them and turn out they do not have any social media store and not even the name in the shop list of the market.
poorly ran
Second Life is not bad but the way Linden Labs runs it is not well you can aperingly get in to trouble if you rp as someone who is under the aspect of dwarfism or just being a dwarfs or gnome do to how bad the tos is worded I don't see how that's right other then them having some kind of problem with people with medical problems like that and the fact that there customer service is so bad they do not talk with you at all and just tell you to buzz off basically.
I have been a player of Second Life for…
I have been a player of Second Life for 14 years.
Have a good reputation on the game and have helped many. But resently i have noticed for no apparent reason i seem to be baned from many regions. Even from sims belonging to the land owner i actually rent from. For instance, i rent from the Chungs in-World who have the most sims for renting than any other land owner. Even though i rent from the chungs, i wanted to visit a land belonging to them that was for renting. However i could not do this as a region ban was showing which i find very starnge considering that particular sim available to rent is actually from the land owner i already rent from. This has never happend in 14 years of playing second life, so i do not understand why someone like me with a great reputation who has never caused any drama to anyone would be facing such a problem. I am 55 yrs old in rl and certainly not an under age player of sl.
Terrible game
I truly don't understand the appeal. I am an avid player of Life Sims, so when I heard about Second Life, I thought it would be exactly what I was looking for. Only, it is one of the most overly complicated--void of anything entertaining--games I've ever played. They boast a large customisation menu, which is true if you want to pay real money for it; otherwise, you're stuck with a default avatar. The chat rooms are entirely unmoderated, which to some might seem ideal, but in reality, it creates a breeding ground for sick individuals with no jobs and 0 real-life social skills. I've quit and come back to Second Life so many times because a part of me just thought I was misunderstanding how to play the game and that surely, with all its popularity, there must be more to it. However, this is not the case. I had more fun playing Habbo Hotel, a game with far too many racist pixel people, than I did this absolute waste of computer data. Don't recommend it.
Second Life caters to BDSM and Porn
Second Life caters to BDSM and Porn. I purchased rated G land on Dentro to get away from it, however a BDSM group bought some of the land next to time, and actually perform BDSM on the rated G land. Linden Labs has done nothing about it, even after 5+ complaints. Porn is everywhere and you are not safe from it.
Toxic
Toxic.
Creators of the ACTUALY game (called the Lindens) are stupid and money hungry.
Pedophiles are everywhere.
As Second Life stands now, it's completely dead.
Secondlife is exactly what you make of…
Secondlife is exactly what you make of it. It's an adult world with a lot to offer. Music, culture, and sexuality, with good separation between them. The quality of graphics is pretty high if you have a strong enough machine, and it's attractive and playable even if you don't. It's a place to meet people.
Llinden Lab pay no attention to residents
Llinden Lab pay no attention to complaints, you waste your time even bothering to contact them its sucks been her for 15 years and they never ever listen
I have been in world for over 15 years…
I have been in world for over 15 years and i play everyday. Im an a regular person who has a life a job and family . When i need to relax i play and i can experience anything i want never had any problem you have to meet some of the great people from all over the world and play with common sense . I have ;earned alot about graphic art and well i just love it...
Its a scam
Its a scam. They have open provocative outfits all over advertised. You put them on they ban you perm without warning. Their goal is to steal and con. Poorly administered model.
Second life is gone down Hill
worst game ever the support is trash they do not help at all , a waste of time and effort my account got banned from a problem that I didn't do I was wrongly accused . I submitted so many tickets and all I received back was the same responses they do not care to help. All they want is your money and your soul , don't be fooled by this game second life is nothing but a demonic community it resolves around child pornography , podophiles, and filthy old weirdos bring their weird fetishes and fantasies on the game. I've had the worst experience and I hope one day second life shuts down for good!
I cannot imagine my life without it.
I had been playing for over 10 years. It is wonderful, a place full of surprises and opportunities. Today you can be a fierced warrior, tomorrow a pretty princess. You can reinvent yourself anytime you want. You can have multiple houses, one in a wilderness and one in a wasteland.
It takes time to learn your way around. You might encounter problems, but the pleasure of the game is that you can be anyone you want and you can live almost any type of experience you imagine. From churches to satanists, from average humans to animals and from haven to dungeons, Second Life has it all.
I strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to live in a virtual world.
Second Life is Dangerous
Second Life is psychologically and physically unhealthy. Please don’t allow yourself to get sucked into this dangerous virtual reality world. Some people ignore their real life children, spouses, responsibilities, health and do not sleep or eat properly. The average Second Lifer spends in excess of 8-10 hours a day sitting behind a computer living vicariously through an avatar, So much cyber bullying occurs through a terrible online blog titled “Virtual Secrets”. Just like real life, there are some nice people, but the majority of Second Lifers have some sort of issue that attracts them to the Second Life. There is no point to the so called game. People just behave with much more abandon than they would in the real world, doing things they would never dare do real life and treating others often with a great deal of cruelty. I almost lost my job, my spouse and my health after playing Second Life for several years. I had to go cold turkey, like a drug, and uninstall it from my computer after deleting my account. I have zero desire to ever go back and I feel so much sympathy for people who have developed agoraphobia and are reclusive and live exclusively in Second Life, many for over 13 years. I was so so unhealthy after stepping away from that game it took me 6 months to begin sleeping and exercising normally and living a normal life in the real world. People will deny they feel this way but when you see them online for 12 plus hours a day, you know their real life is in shambles. Avoid this place please. It was the worst mistake I ever made and I will never venture into a virtual reality game again.
