Nice hotel but we wouldn’t come back
We travelled with Jet2holidays and stayed at Kiani Beach Hotel in Crete. The holiday was okay overall, but there were quite a few things that made the experience less enjoyable.
Flights: On our way to Greece, the flight attendants were unfortunately a bit rude, which wasn’t the best start to the holiday.
Hotel & Food: The hotel itself is nice, but the food was disappointing. There aren’t many options, and a lot of dishes felt like leftovers with sauces added. Kids’ choices are very limited and mostly just fast food.
All Inclusive vs. All Inclusive Plus: This was the most frustrating part. If you don’t have the All Inclusive Plus (the gold bracelet), you are treated very differently. You even have to pay for basics like coffee or water, and staff make you feel like a second-class guest. For example, one morning at 10AM I asked for a coffee at the bar, knowing I would need to pay for it. I was told I couldn’t buy one until 11AM because I wasn’t a gold member, and instead directed to the free all-inclusive machine coffee — which was honestly terrible. The attitude of the bar staff was also unpleasant.
Noise: Another big downside was the noise. Deliveries started around 5AM with a loud van at the mini market, and by 7AM staff were cutting grass and moving things around outside. It was extremely noisy, and hard for both adults and children to rest in the mornings.
Entertainment: The highlight of the hotel was definitely the entertainment team. They did a fantastic job keeping kids busy and happy throughout the day, and were always friendly and engaging.
Overall, while there were some nice aspects, especially the entertainment team, I wouldn’t choose to return to this hotel.
