This company will double charge you…

This company will double charge you with no sense of liabililty and their gig offerings are rarely from producers or studios, mostly from other writers or novices looking for help. Not worth the money.

Here’s the problem with Screenwriter…

Here’s the problem with Screenwriter staffing, there’s no staff. The owner, Jacob Stuart is a really nice guy and he’s not a rip off, however he’s in way over his head and quite frankly he can’t handle the volume from his marketing efforts. I’ve used them three times, the first was a $700 editing job that was filled with mistakes, I called Jacob and he refunded my money the next day, the second time I used them was for a email blast, boy that was a mistake, I got 13 requests and not one of them wanted to pay me for my work, actually two of them wanted money from me for representation, I didn’t call Jacob cause he did what he said and it was only like $40 bucks, the last and final straw was when I signed up for “A complete package” including log line, synopsis so on and so forth, he scheduled three phone meetings with me and never called, that was it, he did refund me rather quickly so like I said he’s not a jerk about that and I do believe he has the best intentions but like I said, he can’t handle the volume.

Trusted Source for Professional Screenwriters Since 2014

I’ve been using Screenwriting Staffing to find writers since 2014 and have successfully hired three writers through the site. The writer I brought on in April went above and beyond, and our film is now about to wrap production. I can’t say enough about Screenwriting Staffing’s commitment to helping pros like us connect with the right writers.

I signed up for Screenwriting Staffing…

I signed up for Screenwriting Staffing Premium blast a few years ago. NEVER found one useful link. Never got a call back. So I left. Today I thought, well maybe they had improved. Cannot get my 25 bucks back. NO! I was trained to write film material by Emmy Award winner Lee Levinson in the year 2000. The last 25 years as a paid ghostwriter and ZERO except subterfuge and dodging my questions. I also cannot find a place to DELETE my account.

Purchased a Marketing & Representation…

Purchased a Marketing & Representation Readiness Submission package on May 7, 2025 for $299. After not hearing from anyone, I reached out on May 16. Suddenly received response email from Jacob Stewart. Jacob agreed to send over my coverage and query letter "within the hour". Agreed on a time to jump on a zoom/phone call and though responses were slow, after repeated contacts, we finally connected on May 28. Honestly had a wonderful phone conversation and thought that I'd found a great resource in the industry. Somehow I'd provided the first 10 pages of my script as opposed to the entire script and Jacob gave me a list of things to do after the call with the expectation that we would reconnect the following Wednesday. I immediately did everything he asked but as of today, never heard back from him. I've sent numerous emails, texts, calls and nothing. His vm is always full and not taking messages; I've requested a refund via email; the industry event that I was hoping he could help me prep for has passed and nothing. My recommendation is for everyone to avoid this company until they / he starts meeting the expectations of his paying customers. I've been a subscriber off/on for several years but no longer.

Liars and thieves

I paid over $100 for feedback on a script - a service they promise to provide within 7 days. 15 days later, I'm asking where my feedback was - they promise to provide the original feedback AND a 2nd in order to compensate for breaking their pledge.
Stupidly, I send another script for feedback, and over a month later, NOTHING had arrived.
I ask for my money back - they tell me it'll be in my account inside 3 working days. It's been over a month now, and I've had NO FEEDBACK, and NO REFUND.
It would appear that this cowboy company just grabs money and keeps it, over-promises and under- delivers, and seems to be run by a bunch of useless idiots that lie to their customers, and ignore their responsibilities.
I advise writers to NEVER use this tawdry, incompetent, crooked little gang of thieves.

Not what it used to be...

I'm not sure what's happened to Screenwriting Staffing. I used them in 2023 to send an email blast to producers and received several useful and constructive inquiries. This time in May 2025, absolutely nothing happened. I received a friendly assurance from Jacob Stuart, their CEO, that they would send out the blast again, but since then there's been no response, no help, no follow-up despite many polite emails from me. I want to think it's an oversight, but I actually think this is a deliberate strategy, and they';re hoping I'll just go away. They collect their blast money, use Mailchimp to send an email to their (probably dated) list, and move on. Maybe that isn't the case, but I now don't see any reason to spend $70 again on a complete waste of time and energy with people who evidently don't care what their customers think or want.
