It gave Linnify.com which scammed me…
It gave Linnify.com which scammed me out of £230 with a fake job a 68% safe score. Exercise caution if you receive a job offer for a "Data Provider" role without a detailed job description. This is a scam, employing either the traditional pyramid scheme model or simply intending never to return your money. Especially if the job comes from Isabelle of "Parker Bridge".
This website is a complete garbage
This website is a complete garbage. It marked all the websites I checked as not trustworthy, including my clients websites which are very known and trustworthy websites, old domains with a lot of happy customers on a daily basis. Scam detector is a scam, probably trying to get some advantage on giving bad reviews to small business. Avoid their opinion.
They reviewed our business documents…
They reviewed our business documents and immediately charged our rating to 100%. They are a solid company and we have used them for years personally. Great job, thank you.
Yesterday I checked my website…
Yesterday I checked my website lisbetnewton.com and noticed my score was a 13. I was initially skeptical of reaching out to them, just like most of you have been. I was pleasantly surprised to not have been pitched a service to purchase a la style of Yelp.
This site is a total scam trying to extort money from small businesses
I discovered my small business listed on their site with a score of 26.5/100 with baseless claims implying that my website is associated with phishing, spamming, or is otherwise “debatable, contentious, or controversial.” These statements are wholly inaccurate, unsubstantiated, and false.
I immediately sent them a cease and desist letter threatening to sue. Overnight, they changed my score to 100.
DO NOT PAY THIS COMPANY! Send them a cease and desist letter and report them to the ITC (Internet Crime Complaint Center), the FTC, and BBB.
Prompt, Professional, and Helpful Support
I had a very positive experience with Scam Detector. Their team responded quickly to my concerns and provided clear instructions and feedback during the domain verification process.
Highly recommend them if you're looking to verify and build credibility online. Thank you again for your support!
Fast and easy to work with!
ScamDetector's algorithm gave our website a low score, so I contacted them with the requested information. They immediately updated our score to show that we are a valid and trusted business.

Affiliate Site, Provokes With Bad Business Scores
This ai scanner is programmed to give any business a BAD initial Score, Provoking you to contact them, and asking information which is not of their concern.
This is what they ask you:
> Some screenshots/proof of satisfied clients;
> Photos of your office;
> Canceling orders when requested;
> Records of successful transactions/receivables (maybe a chain of email correspondence with your clients);
> Other details from the marinepilotage.com ecosystem that would show that you are 100% trustworthy (certificate of incorporation, business registration, official records - with the name of this particular company, not another).
> Your personal profile on LinkedIn or other social media channels.

The website literally lied about…
The website literally lied about everything.
They had the website listed as a risk for being 'new'
Brand X Sports has been on the WWW for thirty three years. It went down hill from there
This website is a woke and dishonest
This website is woke and dishonest. It scores CNN top honors for being trustworthy, and degrades Fox News. For a small businesses, it scares customers away just because of their size. It lies about phishing activity on my site, even though for 10 years, I've never had 1 outbound email originate from my website. Lies. Scare tactics to make itself sound useful and relevant. Scam Detector site itself is a Scam. If the FBI is reading this, please investigate the SLANDER SITE.
Completely Inaccurate for small businesses
My partner owns a small retail company which we have been building since 2021.
People are posting the link to this scam website which has given our company a low score, claiming inaccurate and little information about our company. We had a customer post the scam website link on one of our facebook ads, advising people to “do their research” - with the website giving our company a high scam rate.
Growing a small business and trying to expand it is really challenging when there are websites like this falsely accusing us of being scammers. We have scam/security alerts on our system to make sure people do not use stolen cards, we have alerts of contradicting data when orders are placed, we post out within 1-2 business days and have pride in our work and what we provide.
We work extremely hard to ensure we provide the best quality, new designs and customer service. This website just diminishes small businesses because it lacks information.
Scam Detector Does not Use Data for its Ratings
Scam Detector has provided a baseless review of our website. The website has no listed evidence or arguments that may point to the website being accused of a scam or missing relevant business data.
It is high time that these websites dedicate themselves to accurate research rather than blatant defamation.
Excellent and Responsive Service (Thank you, Selma!)
I recently contacted Scam Detector regarding the trust score for our website, Automotix.net. I was initially concerned about the rating, but the team, and Selma in particular, were incredibly responsive and helpful.
Selma clearly outlined their process and was very understanding of my concerns. After I provided supporting documentation, they promptly reviewed it and adjusted the score. The communication with Selma was clear, and the instructions for seeing the updated score were accurate.
It's reassuring to know that Scam Detector has a process in place for domain owners to address their ratings and that they genuinely care about accuracy.
Thank you, Scam Detector, and especially Selma, for your efficient and professional service!
Look in the mirror, Scam Detector!
What an arrogant operation! They feel entitled to hand out defamatory assessments based on zero actual evidence.
This website is a complete joke
This website is a complete joke! Even a well renowned company like Carlsberg from 1847, owned by Blackrock, one of the best beer brands in the world, scores low on this website.
It's a joke!
How do they come up with their numbers?
I checked my e-commerce website and it gives me a score of 17/100. I was trying to get a detailed explanation on how to improve my score, but they were trying to sell something in the results page.
The results also told people to stay away from my site as if its terrible, yet when I have customers, I always treat them with the same respect and honour my public terms and conditions. and I have never had a single chargeback against me. so i don't know how my website is considered dangerous.
This company shouldn't exist if they wish to make up stuff without a valid explanation.
They also didn't describe my site properly either.
Data Collector
Scamadviser flagged Scam Detector for potentially dubious services, such as selling social media followers or crypto-related content, which could indicate a profit-driven focus.
The website was established in 2010, based on WHOIS data and its own claims.Operates out of Vancouver, Canada, though it serves a global audience. Premium Services: Offers paid subscriptions for advanced features, such as detailed reports or data removal services for businesses flagged as suspicious.Affiliate Partnerships: Likely earns commissions through partnerships with cybersecurity firms like Guardio or other recommended services.
- Data Collection: The site collects user data (e.g., IP addresses, browsing behavior) for analytics and may share it with partners, as noted in its privacy policy. Users should be cautious about data privacy when using such platforms.
Allegations of Scare Tactics:Some users claim Scam Detector assigns unfairly low trust scores to legitimate websites, creating fear to drive traffic or push paid services. For instance, a Trustpilot reviewer reported their established business receiving a 13.4/100 score, alleging the site demanded payment to improve it.Others describe this as an “extortion” model, where businesses are pressured to pay for score adjustments or data removal.Complaints suggest the algorithm may misjudge newer websites or those with unconventional setups, flagging them as risky despite legitimacy.Some users report difficulty contacting Scam Detector to dispute ratings or seek corrections.
Positive reviews praise its user-friendly interface. Negative reviews focus on perceived bias, lack of transparency in scoring, and slow response times.
Potential Conflicts of Interest: The reliance on affiliate partnerships and premium subscriptions raises concerns about impartiality. ex., promoting Guardio heavily could skew recommendations.
Domain via WHOIS lookup, Registered: 2010, Registrar: GoDaddy, Likely hosted in the U.S. or Canada, with Cloudflare used for security and performance.
Limited options for businesses or individuals to challenge inaccurate ratings.Allegations of leveraging low scores to upsell services undermine credibility.
Like many online tools, it collects user data, which may be shared with third parties, raising privacy concerns.
Allegations of unfair scoring, extortion-like tactics, lack of transparency, inaccurate assessments, and privacy concerns. These issues have sparked distrust among some users, especially small business owners and webmasters, who feel their reputations are unfairly harmed.Numerous users, business owners, report that Scam Detector’s Website Validator assigns unfairly low trust scores (e.g., 13.4/100 or 58/100) to legitimate websites, labeling them as “suspicious” or “risky.” Critics allege this is a deliberate tactic to pressure businesses into paying for score improvements or data removal, resembling extortion.The recurring theme is that new or small businesses, which often have newer domains or lower traffic, receive disproportionately low scores. The low scores can damage reputations before corrections are made. The lack of clarity on how scores are calculated fuels perceptions of predatory behavior.The Website Validator’s scoring algorithm is proprietary and not fully disclosed, leading to accusations of arbitrariness and untrustworthiness. Users question how factors like domain age, SSL status, or blacklisting are weighted and whether human oversight is involved.
The lack of a clear appeals process or detailed methodology exacerbates this issue.
Automated tools like Scam Detector’s rely on heuristics, which can misinterpret legitimate practices (e.g., WHOIS privacy, new domains, or low traffic). Without transparent criteria, users can’t assess the validity of scores, and the tool’s claim of “intelligent algorithms” feels hollow when results seem inconsistent or overly generalized.The Website Validator is criticized for mislabeling legitimate websites as scams, particularly startups, niche businesses, or sites with unconventional setups. This can lead to reputational harm and lost sales. Critics argue that Scam Detector’s website is designed to generate revenue through ads, affiliate links (e.g., Guardio), and premium services, prioritizing profit over accuracy or user trust.
Scam Detector’s Website Validator and broader platform face significant negative feedback for unfair scoring, lack of transparency, inaccurate assessments, privacy concerns, and perceived profit-driven motives. Small businesses are particularly vulnerable to reputational harm from low scores.
