Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 207 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently struggle to reach helpful customer support representatives over the phone and experience severe communication barriers when trying to resolve account or order issues. Shoppers also note that in-store staff can be unhelpful, and finding assistance in various departments or getting timely help with purchases is often frustrating. Some reviewers were happy with individual staff members who provided exceptionally friendly, professional, and efficient assistance during their visits. These helpful employees made unexpected stops much more pleasant by handling returns smoothly, creating memberships quickly, and greeting guests with a warm smile.

Sam’s Ruined My Anniversary

Sam’s Club has pretty much ruined my 20th year Anniversary. Bought a 2ct ring, it arrived after delays. Open the box to check it, it’s a completely different ring than what was ordered .55 credits less in value. Agent on the phone directs me to go to Sam’s Club to return. I go to 3 different Sam’s and the customer service desk, including the leads did not know how to return a ring of that value etc. Now back on the phone, customer service sends out the return packaging, I return the item as they needed. They received it on Jun 12 and still did not bother to confirm the item and process the refund. Upon calling 5 days later, Sam’s was not tracking a return had been initiated nor that the ring was returned. I give the tracking and order number etc. Still no verification or issuance of my refund.

I’ve been getting the run around after an already disappointed Anniversary experience due to Sam’s lack of attention to detail. Now they say they can’t process until verified again. This has been the worst experience that I’ve encountered with an organization of Sam’s stature. I would not recommend this to anyone else as customer service has been complete inefficient as well as Sam’s and its distributors.

Their delivery service is absolutely…

Their delivery service is absolutely horrible. I have had my grocery delivery messed up 3 times and today a 4th. I either only get half my items or they get delivered to another address. The thing is that you are required to tip beforehand and we tip generously. Then to get incomplete orders they send someone else to fix their mistake and the new delivery expext a tip as well. So I started not leaving a tip and put in comments that cash tip upon arrival. Well today the idiot saw no tip and canceled my order.

Complicit with Fraud

This company refuses to address fraudulent charges made on our account. They claim they cannot look anything up without a member number, even though they were more than happy to take nearly 500 dollars from us. Do not spend your money here. Avoid walmart too. Any business this incompetent should not be in business.

I have a premier membership

I have a premier membership. I put in a delivery order twice today and both times they were cancelled by Sam's with absolutely no explanation. This is unacceptable. Save your money and go to BJ's or Costco

Jade made all the difference

Jade , the Hearing aid specialist at the Laurel Maryland Sam’s Club on Russett Green was extremely helpful. Her patience and professionalism and proficiency in all aspects of hearing health was impressive. I took my father there to check out Sam’s selection of hearing aids before he made a final decision to go with Miracle Ear. We got the opportunity to see Jade in the middle of helping another senior citizen who was accompanied by his son, and it really resonated with my father and I. Jade was very patient, she was adept at listening, she projected her voice appropriately and looked directly into the senior’s eyes when talking. He was a current customer who already had a set of hearing aids but they were experiencing some liquid buildup and needed to be dried out. These were the Lucid models and apparently came with a special bottle of drying beads or something like that and the customer was not doing this process. So Jade demonstrated to him what was occurring to cause the hearing aids to acquire the liquid and how to perform the recommended dying process on a 2 times per week basis. Jade also perform an examination of the man’s internal ear and let him know he had a sizable wax ball that should be professionally handled by his doctor and showed the man’s son and the senior so they had all of the information to take to his provider.

When it was my dad’s turn, Jade was again very helpful and a wonderful listener. My father had already had his hearing tested and evaluated by an audiologist. Dad also had a note from his ENT clearing and recommending him as a good candidate for hearing aids. So Jade did the internal scope assessment of dad’s ears and to our surprise he had structural abnormalities with the left ear. And then Jade explained his hearing test scores that were previously done by his audiologist, by graphing them on a hearing frequency chart. She showed dad where his loss was using color codes for his right and left ears. Both ears were showing losses, but one ear showed where he was missing more than 30% to %50 of the frequencies. Which was why indeed he couldn’t not keep up in conversations.

Jade then utilized dad’s specific hearing loss metrics and programmed their newest model devices and asked dad to put them on and let her know his thoughts. It was as if the Atlantic Ocean parted. Dad’s eyes started glistening and the brightest smile came on his lips. He could suddenly hear everything with clarity. I asked Jade a question and dad answered before she could. It was the funniest moment. Dad said he didn’t want to take them off. So after all of Jade’s superb assistance, dad purchased the new model hearing aids. And then dad said the most telling thing that made him want to get his hearing aids from Sam’s Club over Miracle Ear. He said non of the other places, Miracle Ear to be precise and Hearing USA, ever explained his specific hearing loss patterns, nor showed him the internal images of his ears, never once told him there were structural abnormalities with one of his eardrums ever. And he said they barely spent any time with him more than 15 to 20 minutes before suggesting their $3999 devices with an 88/mo for 48 months plan. Dad basically felt that they weren’t really trying to help him, but more so sell him a product. Jade was kind, concerned, knowledgeable and helpful.

Poor Customer Service

I used to love this store; but over the past few years I’ve shopped there less due to the poor customer service and less variety. Several times I have placed a pickup order and have had to cancel it because they were unable to fulfill my order and don’t bother to tell me until after my pickup time. The manager of pickup couldn’t even tell me if they had started in it so I proceeded to do the shopping and they were out of several items that showed in stock when I ordered them. No apologies No resolution.

Just got into long gas line in Oakwood Village Ohio but dud not see that they have their lame ass flag in a traffic cone marking a pump is down!!! You would a multi multi billion dollar corp would have some kind of EASILY VISIBLE PLACARD from the driveway showing what lanes are not fully functioning!!! Maybe if the Walton family had fewer yachts we could have better service!!!!! 2 stars instead of 1 because their gas prices are usually the lowest in the area.

Terrible AI customer service

Big surprise, you can't get a human on the phone and their AI assistant is probably the cheapest program they could find. I input my phone number, membership number 2 x's each and the stupid AI said it couldn't verify my membership.
All I want to do is cancel my membership and since ALL my personal information was found on the dark web by my credit monitoring agency and was compromised by their optical dept, the last thing I want to do is set up a user profile just to cancel.
THANK GOODNESS I'M OUT OF ARKANSAS AND HAVE ACTUAL SHOPPING CHOICES NOW.

What a joke

What a joke. Come to find out why the food court is always either slammed or everything's sold out. It's because they let NON MEMBERS in so I can subsidize their cheap meals when as a paying member I'm unable to try anything. This was the last straw after the Roseville MI. store refused to honer their spoiled produce warranty. Went to Costco. MUCH BETTER, No FREELOADERS clogging up the food court.

Backyard Discovery Sauna & Sam’s Club

Ordered a Backyard Discovery 4 to 6 person sauna along with paid assembly from Sam’s Club. I called the assembly contractor Eddie Perden to schedule an appointment and he told me to wait until the product was delivered.
I requested to be scheduled anyway because this was the day before the scheduled delivery.
Product was delivered as scheduled. I was not able to secure an appointment until after my husband & I called customer service & complained about the contractor. Contractor calls me; apologizes & schedules appointment. We do not hear from him when it’s the day before the appointment. I reach out & he says he is not able to make it & reschedules us for the following day. Day of the appointment, we do not get any communication from the contractor. I text and request an ETA. I get one for 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, & then I get a message at 11:30 that he’s delayed. Now our appointment time is 1:00 to 1:30 PM.
We have requested a new assembly contractor 2x because of this guy’s lack of professionalism. Never again. We have paid for everything & we feel as if our time is not important. We delayed a trip due to this scheduling chaos & our boxes have been exposed to the weather for 2 weeks while waiting for Eddie to get his act together.

Waited at gas station for 10 minutes while non-purchasing customer blocked pumps making a cell call.

Waited at gas station for 10 minutes while customer blocked the pumps making a cell phone call inside his car. Attendant was completely inept at recognizing or rectifying the situation as cars lined up in the limited one-way pump lanes to get gas. Calls to store management went unanswered and calls to pharmacy to reach a real person failed to locate the manager. Attempts to report the issues to management were futile as the Sam’s Club site failed to allow any logins after several attempts. Sam’s management either seams absent or oblivious to the problems around their store.

Another Horrible Experience

Ordered wall cabinets on line. Cabinets come in various colors but app lets you order without selecting a color. It just gives you whatever color is defaulted when you view the item. We realized it the same day and tried to either get them to change the color for us or cancel the order so we can order the desired color. This turned out to be impossible! If the item didn’t ship yet there is no good reason that they can’t stop the order. The item didn’t even make it to the shipper for a few days but even after several calls to support we got a different story every time but ultimately we couldn’t do anything but let the order come and then return it. Like I need to play around with 2 40lb boxes at my age. It is an absolutely idiotic app and the customer support agents are totally clueless. Last time I order anything on line from Sam’s Club.

Dishonest and rude customer service

I took my glasses prescription to Sam's Club optical department in Winston Salem Hanes Mall Blvd. location. If it were possible I would give this place no stars. I called ahead to ask if they could use frames that I had purchased online and was told it was no problem. When I got there I was treated very rudely and told they wouldn't work. I took them to Vision Works and Lens Crafters and was told that they would work just fine. When I called back to Sam's and let them know the other associate in the department laughed and was as rude as the first.

Ordered canceled repeatedly for no reason

I have had the absolute worst experience with Sam's club. I joined to purchase flooring for my home. I have placed the order 4 separate times over the course of a week and every time the order is canceled without reason. I have changed the order size to see if that might have been the problem and all were canceled. Customer service is absolutely useless. I have called 3 times and every time I am told my problem is being sent to a "specialized team". I have never heard anything for this team. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had with a company. I do not understand why it is so hard for me to try and spend $1000s with a company.

Frustrating, UNABLE TO DELIVER!

We have always purchased from Costco’s but decided to make a large purchase from Sam’s Club but unfortunately, they rely on FedEx and cannot deliver. Twice, so far, they have scheduled our delivery of a 335 lb item and had to cancel a few hours before delivery. Unlike Costco, they don’t offer White Glove so the item whenever delivered will only come to the threshold and we have had help waiting to assist us to get the item in its permanent place that we have had to cancel last minute. As of today, our item is more than eight days late and I have spent countless hours on the phone with both Sam’s and FedEx to no avail. Save yourself the frustration and don’t purchase from Sam’s Club.

Most Unfriendly Greeter

My husband, service dog, and I visited the Sam’s Club in Pooler, GA on Saturday afternoon May 30, 2026. Betty, the greeter at the front entrance was most unfriendly. No greeting, no smile, just looked at us in a disgusting manner. I think Betty requires some customer service training or take her off the front entrance.
