Not Mechanic Friendly
First of all, I asked the Samsara AI where to leave a review, it told me where then removed its answer and said "I can only help with Samsara questions." Now I deal with this system every day. The tracking units for semi trailers are flimsy and the connections rot out all the time and cords simply fall out because the way you attach them to the unit themselves is not done well. The wires in the harness are flimsy and cheap and cause repeated issues from simply falling apart. They have also caused multiple issues with 7-Way wiring. The actual tracking is very imprecise and visually looking for the trailer is just easier. With the tracking units in the trucks I have received "harsh event detected" from simply turning the yard truck left or hooking up to a trailer at about 2 MPH. Since Samsara is inherently associated with dissatisfaction, I can confidently say that this company chose the correct name since every single interaction I've had with their product has caused immense dissatisfaction

Stay far away
I’m guessing the positive reviews are from people early on. First, customer service is horrible. I’d guess it’s off shore somewhere. I can’t count how many times I’ve had to say I’m sorry can you repeat that. But the worst part is trying to part ways. I lost features a few weeks ago and when inquired as to why, I need to purchase another license. But it was features I’ve had for almost 10 years. Samsara says, sorry we need more money for that. Stay far far away. There are other companies with same capabilities that don’t charge for every last thing.

Pay more, get less
We have been a loyal Samsara customer for the past six years. Approximately five months into our current term, we discovered that our engine diagnostic service had been disabled without any notification or communication from Samsara. Despite the removal of this service, our billing rate has remained unchanged.
In addition, we recently learned that our account no longer has a dedicated representative because we allegedly do not meet the threshold requirements. This change was also never communicated to us.
We are extremely disappointed that we are being charged the same rate for reduced services, and even more concerned that Samsara is now requesting an additional $1,600 per vehicle to restore engine diagnostic capabilities that had been included and functioning for the previous five years.
This situation reflects a significant decline in both customer support and service transparency. After six years of partnership, we expected better communication, consistency, and accountability.
There are many other providers in the market offering comparable solutions and stronger customer support. As a result of these changes, we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Does this not create divide by excluding management vechicals & only samsaraing the real workers? If its for safety then surely ALL company vechicals would have samsara this would be equally right within a company? Why drivers of samsara vechicals always desperate to drive other company vechicals without samsara? These are just a few questions. Is it o.k for you to be monitored & a work colleague not? Is he or she they them better than me? Thankyou for time. Please can I also ask why you requested Google take down these questions 3 times. There is no reply from you guys just requested to remove these questions

Samsara is the biggest piece of crap
Samsara is the biggest piece of crap. Companies, like the one I work for, contract with these clowns to make us drive safer. Problem, the robots have never driven and the technology is SO flawed. I was just driving 54 mph in a 55 mph zone and the stupid robot with NO driving experience just kept yelling at me to slow down. If I do get reprimanded, or worse, you bet Samsara will have a fat law suit coming their way!

Communication is really poor and the high pressure sales is not desirable. Returned everything under the thirty day trial period and they still squeezed $94.00 out of me for the shipping. Poor company to work with. We are moving to AT&T for the camera service.

Samsara is probably the most advanced product we use and so glad we do, since using this the data we have, has reduced our incidents ten fold, and also to add the teams at samsara are amazing to work with, always taking out ideas on board and innovating with us, a true partner!

Don't trust everything they say but do your own research first.
We were approached by our Account Executive and offered a trial basis use of their multi-cam system. He both stated on calls and wrote on our email thread that this would save us money by replacing part of what we already have while providing more coverage. Sounding too good to be true and asked several times. I agreed to try it out. As soon as I received them I realized that we could not replace any equipment with this. It actually required our current equipment to work. I reached out to the AE twice and no response. Put in a Support ticket for return labels and a refund for the shipping cost as this was their fault for giving misinformation on their product. Support was great but said they could not give a refund for shipping. I asked to escalate to my AE's supervisor after I explained what happened. They obliged and added him (Al Scott) on our thread for transparency. He didn't respond either. I sent out another email asking if he was going to ignore me. He responded saying that a credit would be issued. I later asked Al about why the AE had not responded and again asked about the shipping refund. He wrote back saying that they don't give shipping refunds because the items were sent. I asked him if he read the thread he responded to because this was caused by their misinformation. We went back and fourth but never got a reason why the AE never responded or him admitting that this was wrong on their part. Long story short. I no longer believe anything they say and will not get any more equipment from them. I don't trust a company that can't admit when they mess up. They are quick to add on equipment but use a snail's pace when it does not benefit them. I am waiting t receive their response from Kelly (auto generated generic response system they use).

Contract fraud
My company did not want a 3 year contract with Samsara and negotiated a 1 year contract. After agreeing to the 1 year contract, Samsara sent a payment link to approve the 1 year contract and allow funds to be drawn to pay the full amount of the 1 year contract as agreed. Not only did Samsara draw the agreed to amount for the 1 year contract, Samsara also drew an additional $29,000.00 to cover the 3 year contract that that we did not agree to and had refused. After 2 months of trying to get a reversal of the charge we have gotten a complete runaround. We were told that a contract specialist had failed to cancel the 3 year contract and the contract department was working to correct the mistake. 2 months later they still have our money and we are being forced to take legal action. Stay clear from this company.

BEWARE OF CONTRACT
Great dash cam and GPS features but beware of the contract. Our company only just recently signed on with Samsara in January 2026 with a total of 9 licenses/devices. Unfortunately right after our 30 day trial we lost a major customer and with that we no longer had a need for 3 out of the 9 devices/licenses. We contacted Samsara in hopes they would be understanding but they weren't. We submitted the email that was proof from our customer that they canceled the contract, we submitted a signed letter from the president of our company acknowledging the loss of the contract, we reiterated that the devices were never even installed or activated which is something they can very much see on their end and we even went as far as telling them to call our customer to confirm which was very unprofessional on our end but we were desperate. Long story short, they were not budging as the contract terms locked us into 3 years. While i understand things happen which are beyond our control such as the loss of a contract, it was very disheartening that after everything we provided them with especially as a brand new customer that they didnt even consider this. We will not be renewing at the contract end.

Stay away!
After our contract ended, the company continued to charge our Visa card each month without authorization. As a result, we’ve had to dispute these charges with Visa on a monthly basis to have them removed.
Months later and they're still applying charges!!!

Started out good ended horrible
I started with this company several years ago. They were just starting out. They were actually really good. I like the technology as well they offered to bring people out to train our staff which, of course never happened. Promise after promise they are just empty promises.
Then the equipment started to fail. So they sent more but failed to send the right adaptors to for our vehicles so they sat in a box.
Email after email after email after email I could go on and on one year two years three years. Because I had installed quite a few of them already and was just waiting on the power cords and it connected well with another program, I kept out trying to get the service they once offered.
Every month I would get a new sales rep that wanted to know everything about my business and take hours of my time. I finally had to put my foot down.
Finally, I made a stand. I’m not paying anything until I get the complete equipment and the bills kept coming.
You cannot reach anyone they will not get back to you and if they do just like the automated reply from Kelly it is meaningless and absolutely pointless. It solves nothing.
My last and I mean, last attempt I tried to resolve a Manager Keenan blamed me for not answering one email after 29 of mine went unanswered. Strangely enough, I look back through my emails and I had answered the email. They just simply have no ability to do business.
They are a scam people stay as far away from them as you can and please for God sakes don’t give them a credit card. I was smart enough not to do that.
This is a company you want to avoid

Bad Customer Service - No Return Calls, Emails, or Assistance
Update - this issue was resolved and we are very satisfied with the resolution. We upgraded from a 1 star to 5 star without any coercion from them. We were happy to do so.
We used Samsara service for a few years, but as our fleet downsized we tried to contact them to cancel our contract with them. After repeated calls and voicemails without return calls we assumed our account had been cancelled. A month or 2 later we were charged our auto renewal. Again we emailed, called and no response from the company. We eventually challenged with our credit card company to get the refund, but they responded and we declined, so again we kept trying to get ahold of the company.. i finally got connected with someone in February via their online chat. I asked several times to talk to someone through this process and documented all we had done to try and cancel and they kept asking for more things, never would allow us to talk to a manager and did nothing to cancel our service or refund our renewal - even though it was obvious we had no used the service since prior to August 2025 and renewal was October 2025. They may have a great product, but their customer service is terrible and they are more concerned with getting customers locked into subscriptions and collecting subscription fees and making it difficult to cancel by avoiding calls, emails, and other forms of contact - avoid this company if any of those things are important to you. I'm sure there are other companies available to provide quality products and good customer service.

It's a game changer!
What a product! The utility of having Samsara extends way beyond driving behaviours. In fact, there's just too many to list here.
For driving behaviours and reducing the number of vehicle incidents, Samsara has been instrumental. Clear decline in incidents and unwanted behaviours.
One of my personal favourites is the ease in which I can download footage from vehicles. Even with non-vehicle related incidents/accidents, Samsara has been an outstanding help. It truly is a game changer. It has made my job so much easier.
A picture, or in this case a video, paints a thousand words. Being able to see exactly what happened makes understanding incidents infinitely easier.
I don't know how we managed before getting Samsara!
