Subscription Cancellation

I got an email from iTunes saying my subscription to Runtastic Premium is due on March 10 at a cost of £52.99! I don't remember ever having subscibed to Runtastic and I've certainly never used it. I have now cancelled the renewal through iTunes. I'm just hoping that it will all go through without a hitch, bearing in mind the difficulties people are experiencing with cancelling.

The app is just fine, but ADS

The app is just fine, but if you buy the paid version you still get ads to subscribe to premium. I don’t want premium, I’m just fine with the version I BOUGHT FOR MONEY! Stop anoying me with this.

I even tried the trial subscription, but it keeps showing those ads too often.

Avoid

At first this looks like a great app. I tried the free version this week end for 7 mile run. On the speed map it suggested my speed varied between 4 miles an hour and 13 mile an hour . I never walked on this run and am 63 I don't run at 13 miles an hour. The pace on each mile varied by 80%. It look great but it is clearly of no value. What really angered me was the loads of e miles and when I went to unsubscribe all I got was invitation to spend on a premium service for stuff I get elsewhere for for example heart rate is free on the installed app on the i phone X. I don't mind paying for a premium product but when you app is set up to
grab money and pester your customers you destroy trust in you brand . Conclusion looks great but in fact has no value added what so ever. not sure you deserve the one star bit I cannot find a way of making it zero . hold your heads in shame

Works well for me.

I like Runtastic and am surprised to see bad reviews but the issues with cancelling premium subscriptions seem to be a problem. I’ve not experienced than and otherwise I find this to be a great run tracking app. You don’t need to buy premium to get value from it.

Runtastic ripped me off!

My runtastic pro renewed without warning. The renewal date is tomorrow so I cancelled it, thinking they would refund my money. Just got an email stating that there will be no refunds. So now I'm stuck paying an annual fee for an app that I cancelled 1 day before the renewal date

Avoid

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! The premium doesn’t give you anything that you can’t get for free elsewhere online, the training plans are generic, customer services don’t respond to questions and it’s difficult to cancel and unsubscribe. If you have subscribed cancel auto renew through whoever you paid with. I’m my case PayPal. The emails kept coming so I reported them as junk.

Disgusting company, disgusting customer service

I got an offer on my iPhone for the Runtastics new app. However the offer does not activate. So I contacted the customer service, the said they couldn´t help me. I asked how come they have an offer which in fact does not work, they did not answer. I had to send them an email just to remind them to reply. They said that they don´t want to offer anything for free. Then, don´t notify me of an offer when it is real. Such a petty company with extremely poor customer service.

I submitted a token to cancel my Pro service two years ago, but I am still have trouble cancelling, thought that I may have made an error during the cancellation process, so last year I kept all my emails and again yesterday (May 2017) I was change for a yearly subscription. Warning! Not possible to quit Premium Subscription

I just want to warn you about Runtastic.

I can't seem to understand their ignorance and customer service.
I member for more then two years now, and I used it last time in 2014.
It got automatically renewed last time since my credit card was the same.
I have tried since I recived the first reminder from Birgit, and I replied to thm and I never get a reply. Other users have the same problem with them, that once you are in, its impossible to leave.

To get an answer, I wrote on facebook, no answer.
Now I got the latest thread mail, and it's ridiculous, and yet another automatic email from them. There are many people on the Internet that has problems with leaving Runtastic.

So don't get the premium membership, find another company that has better customers service.

I want to pay for the month of over due, but that's it! Nor a full year again.

Difficult to leave - no dialog possible

I've been a premium member of runtastic for a few years. Due to significant recent events in my life I had to suspend my training for the last few months, and as a consequence I contacted runtastic (both customer services and Birgit Bach) requesting that my membership would be temporarily suspended (stepped down from premium to free) until my situation had been clarified. I've had no replies what so ever to my mails from neither customer services or Birgit Bach. Instead I've been threatened to renew my premium membership payments - a membership that I most likely never will use again.

The process of getting out of your membership seems very complicated, especially when you can't get in touch with the people posing the threats against you:

"... we’ll be forced to think seriously about next steps, as you’re enjoying the Runtastic Premium Membership on the basis of the terms and conditions you accepted." (sent from Birgit Bach and Wolfgang Humer).

I have now paid the membership for one more year that I almost certainly will not be using. I have *again* requested my membership to be canceled and also requested written confirmation from runtastic that they will make no further attempts to charge money from my credit card.

My impression is, that runtastic is an extremely cold business that have no interest in engaging in a dialog with their customers. I expect that runtastic will reply to this posting with something like:

"It's me, Birgit Bach, from Runtastic Customer Service. We’ve already sent you three emails reminding you that the fee for your Runtastic Premium Membership is outstanding. Did you happen to see those? As you can see from the Runtastic terms and conditions, which you accepted, the Runtastic Premium Membership is renewed automatically."

I've seen them do that before for other members in a similar situation as me. Well, that is all very fine, but honestly that is automatically generated mails. What I needed was a *dialog* with runtastic.

There are so many different companies that offers the same service as runtastic. I encourage everyone to consider these options carefully before signing up with runtastic. Your membership might end up being for life ... wether you want it or not.
