The repair of the remote for my R5 was handled quickly and without any question or cost, which was very much appreciated. On a previous occasion, Ruark also repaired my MRx and arranged all of the shipping, making the whole process completely hassle-free. Defective Product, Failed Repair, and Months of Unacceptable Warranty Handling
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Ruark Audio and their German service partner TAD Audiovertrieb GmbH has been unacceptable.
I purchased a Ruark R7 in February 2024. By November 2025, the device developed a serious electrical fault: every time it was switched on, it tripped the main fuse in my apartment, making it completely unusable.
From the very beginning, the handling of this case was problematic.
It was difficult to even reach the relevant service contacts. Communication was slow, inconsistent, and required repeated follow-ups on my side. At times, I had to rely on a third party just to get a response or move things forward.
Instead of a straightforward warranty process, I was sent back and forth between dealer and service, and had to organize transport myself - 1.5 hours each direction- for a large and delicate unit.
After I first brought the system in for repair, it was returned to me within just a few hours with the claim that “it works fine.”
It did not! The exact same issue occurred immediately again at home.
As a result, I had to transport the unit again at my own expense, including a 1.5-hour drive each way.
What followed was weeks of delays with vague updates such as:
• “waiting for parts”
• “please be patient”
• “not yet completed”
There was no clear timeline, no proactive communication, and no ownership of the situation.
Overall, this issue has been ongoing for months, starting from the first report in November 2025 until today, without resolution.
This is not how a premium brand should handle a warranty case.
A product that fails in such a fundamental way within warranty should be repaired promptly, replaced, or refunded. Instead, I experienced misdiagnosis, repeated transport at my own cost, long delays, and a complete disregard for the customer’s time.
At this stage, I expect a full refund.
Very disappointing
I couldn’t leave zero stars so had to give it one.
I couldn’t leave zero stars, so I’m giving it one. Nothing but problems since we bought it last year (2025) RTS1 tabletop. Very poor wifi reception (we have great wifi on hand), finicky programming. Now it has developed a permanent clicking sound. Told it was due to interference from other electronics, or phone. It is alone in the room. Seriously? Buy another brand. We deeply regret this waste of money.

I don't think I've ever had such good service when it comes to repairing a product. I've had my Ruark radio for some years and inevitably things malfunction after a time. Ruark's repair service is, in my experience, second to none. I was especially pleased with (i) the arrangements for collection and return and (ii) with how quickly the repair was made and my radio returned.

Very mellifluous sound . Rich and note filled . Close your eyes and you are at the concert . Quality cabinet for the R3S and all a very premium experience With the ownership . Love the multifunctional rotating control and that I can play CD’s too.

Great customer service. I have two Ruark units and my R4 which is now 15 years old recently stopped working. My initial contact with Ruark customer service team (Terry O'Brien) was very helpful. Given its age I fully expected to have to replace it but the 'repair if we can' service for a fixed price just underlined the benefit of buying quality products from well run businesses. In just a couple of weeks the fault has been fixed and the unit is now on its way back to me. These units continue to look great and produce great sound. If I'd ever thought of trying another brand this experience has shown that I need to look no further than Ruark.
An example to all firms
How about this - a 14-year old R4i with an intermittent fault. Most firms wouldn't even think about a repair but Ruark would! Saving my superb unit from the recycling centre and the cost of a replacement, they fixed it in less than a fortnight and now it is at least as good as new.
The idea is that you send your unit to them and they ship it back for a fixed price of (in my case) £132.00.
I firstly bought a spare shipping carton from them, for the R4i, which arrived next day for £20.00.
Stupidly, I used DPD for the collection, which was expensive (£33.00) and without any tracking. However, the unit arrived at Ruark and was fixed the following week.
The loss of one star (the Ruark service was 5 star) is down to DPD's delivery. On this occasion, DPD decided they didn't need to bother me by knocking on the door but just left my R4i by the garden gate, at the mercy of the weather and passing crooks.
Apart from DPD, the entire experience was brilliant and I'm delighted to have a pristine and fully working piano black R4i in the same condition as when I bought it in 2012!

Best customer service I’ve had in years !!
My Ruark cd player on my R4 ( 9 years old) was not working and needed repair. I contacted Ruark and received a same day reply with fixed quote. Received a carton for sending it back to them with protective cushioning inside so as to keep the unit safe. Arrived to them on Tuesday and received repaired unit with report Saturday morning. Brilliant service! All my few e mail enquiries were responded to within hours and I really can’t fault their technicians nor their customer service. Unit working once again perfectly. Full marks for excellent service.
Super Service
Following the apparent failure of one of their products, contacted this firm who could not have been more helpful. After a likely diagnosis was confirmed, had to wait some weeks for receipt of the necessary part but was kept up to date with progress. Dispatch of the radio and its return back to me were simple, well organised and prompt. Good service and nice people to deal with.
Amazing after-sales service
After 10 years of ownership, my beloved Ruark R4 mk3 developed a fault. I contacted Ruark customer services, who were confident it could be repaired and explained the process, which was very straightforward and reasonably priced (fixed price repair). I sent my R4 to them and it was back with me in 5 days, in fully working order. Amazing service.

Excellent service from start to finish.We sent our Ruark unit back to be repaired, They confirmed they had received the unit and would be in touch when they had repaired it. Under a week of receiving it they contacted us again to say it had been repaired and we received it back the following day by Courier service.

My 13 year old R4 lost all sound and from my first contact with Ruark, initially with Terry in Customer Services, it was impossible to fault the service I received.

My 15 year old R4 developed a problem with the cd player refusing to move on from 'reading disc'. It was fixed within a week and the whole experience of dealing with Ruark was excellent; they were particularly responsive and informative.

We had a sound issue with our R4 mk3. I was contacted by Terry, who reassured me they would be able to repair it. They kept me informed, were extremely helpful. It has now been returned, having been repaired and fully serviced. They team were very professional and I cannot praise them highly enough

So my R4m3 decided to eat a cd. Late that evening I messaged Ruark and by 8 am the next morning I had a reply from Terry telling me it was curable and the process to achieve this. So off it went via RMail and delivered the next day. A few days later I received a note from David saying ‘ All’s well now and the cd is fine’. Within 24 hrs I have had the unit back complete with a letter outlining the work required and It’s back
sitting on the shelf. So very well done to every one involved at Ruark and DPD for the swift delivery at this time of the year.

My Mk4 developed an issue with the cd player, after many years of perfect working. My dealing with Ruark customer care was impressive, from my first call to David to the very helpful member of staff who received my parcel, at their office.
