First rate garage

I can't believe that the review listed below this is based on fact. I urgently ask anyone checking this garage to go on Google to see the myriad of feedback reviews (including mine) giving this garage 5 stars. Indeed, as you scroll down, you cannot see anyone giving less.
This is a good, honest garage whose staff will bend over backwards to help and to explain everything to you. They are also extremely fair priced. I have been using them for years, and I will continue to do so.

Avoid at All Costs

H.A. in Bearsden - 21 Apr 18
Avoid this garage at all costs!!! Unless you want them to fix something in your car without your permission and obviously charge you without running it by you first. Terrible person runs the place and has no shame in charging customers for the hell of it even if you had made it crystal clear before giving them the keys not to fix or fit anything without your approval first. I have never come across a garage with such cowboy-style business practices before. Terrible. Not even worthy of a 1-star rating!!! Jan 2018.

What a joke of a reply by RPM. What makes this case even worse is when I booked the appointment for my car to be checked out I was assured in writing by the administrator/personal assistant who responded to my request that bringing the car in to find out what's wrong with it is a Free of charge and no work will be done on the car and you will NOT be charged for any parts or labour until it is run by me first. This was written in an e-mail. In black and white. There was no mention whatsoever of an automatic diagnostic charge. This was also confirmed by the young mechanic I handed in the keys early in the morning. That is normal business practice--is to have a Free quote to find out what is the problem (if there is one) and then run by me what the costs for parts and labour will be to fix the problem before you go ahead fixing things. You in no way start fixing something else you found without my permission and then have the audacity to charge me even a penny for your work without asking me first. No matter how small the job is. Just how a boiler engineer or whoever would first check what is wrong with the boiler then tell you I found A and B faulty. It will cost you this much for me to fix A and B in terms of parts and labour. Would you like me to go ahead? Yes or no. It's your decision even, even if the boiler engineer may think you won't get it done cheaper elsewhere. Also, if there is an automatic call-out charge that must be stated before they even come out to your property to check the boiler and not just be something made up on the spot by someone because they're doing their day to day job. It's not about the money. It's the principle! and the fact a company (even if it's a small business) not keeping its word and then not even willing to respond to my complaints I have made directly to them over the past 3 months. There was not even an apology to acknowledge that 2 staff members on separate days had NOT told me about an automatic diagnostic charge. It's ridiculous! What's more is that a person running a business for 30 years knows it's ridiculous.

Once again we would like to apologise that the service you received was not satisfactory. We are not a charity and it doesn't seem to make any difference to you what we say you are still not going to be happy. You have made your point and we have replied. I think at this time we should agree to disagree and let the public make up their own minds on this matter, so with that in mind I would like to terminate this conversation.
