Autumn Oaks Apartments

Autumn Oaks Apartments: - Roseville California

THE WITNESS
Nothing Hides Forever.

1) The Serve:

In the fall of 2022, after falling apart due to the death of my wife and best friend, I literally lost everything. I reached out to several apartment complexes, asking if they would accept my section 8. I found one.

At first, I want to say, they seemed extremely relaxed, transparent, and helpful.

Unfortunately, soon after, I learned a very hard reality: marginalization, systematic control, and prejudice, spare no man. My treatment quickly turned into some invisible preconceived notion.

I quickly became aware of the situation. I was
Less...

The Substance:

They became increasingly unavailable and even at times somewhat socially hostile. Several of the employees even suggested at one point that if I didn't like how I was being treated that perhaps I should move. I don't believe that I am an unreasonable person. In fact, before the death of my beautiful wife, I spent many years defending the marginalized .

The point here: I do believe in humanity. I was at many times afraid to address issues within my apartment building.

Example #1) In 2023, my bank was compromised and several of my past transactions with the facility were retracted. Basically, what that means, is that the criminals who breached my account retracted old transactions, claiming they were fraudulent and after retrieving the funds they bailed with the cash I reported my complication to them within the hour. They immediately decided that even though I was clearly without fault, I was to pay all of the late fees involved with those missing payments. It came to over $250.

Then to add insult to injury, after the Bank reversed the charges back to the establishment, recognizing the obvious fraud, I still had to pay restitution.

Basically, I was charged two times what I would've normally paid in rent. They made it clear, this was not their problem.

Example #2) Recently my rent was raised and I was given no notice. I was also informed that the deadline for receiving rent moved from the 5th of every month to the 4th I was late due to lack of funds and the change of policy. And yes, I was met with the same disrespect and extreme prejudice.

The woman who addressed my issue even acted as if I was threatening her simply because I insisted on being treated fairly.

The Verdict:

This kind of gross disregard towards humanity, simply because others may have less, is exactly why this country is failing.

Unfortunately, there are people who learn to follow the rules but fail to see the meaning.

If you can help it. I strongly recommend staying far away from heartless corporations like CTL management and the Autumn Oaks Apartments . They operate under the kind of behavior that is creating a rift in our society and furthering the prejudice against those who have less.
