Brilliant service

Sales man wasn't pushy at all, let me look around the car no hassles. Gave straight answers to questions really interested in making sure I was happy as well as making sure the car was fit for sale. Even sorted advisories on MOT before Sale.

Fantastic Experience and Exceptional Aftercare

Fantastic Experience and Exceptional Aftercare

I recently purchased an Audi A4 Avant from Romsey Car Centre, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. I originally visited the dealership to view a BMW, but their great selection of used cars caught my eye, and I ended up leaving with the Audi. It was a really good deal that also included a 3-month warranty.

From the moment I first set foot in the dealership, both Andy and Jason were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. When I noticed the car was missing its parcel shelf and a few other small bits, they happily ordered the replacements for me without hesitation.

What truly sets Romsey Car Centre apart is their outstanding aftercare. About a week after taking the car home, a check engine light came on, which turned out to be an EGR cooler issue. They took the car in immediately, no questions asked, and got it completely sorted. Later on, I had an issue with a rear suspension spring breaking. Jason personally came out to my house, picked the car up, and took it away to be fixed.

They made everything completely stress-free from start to finish, both during the sale and when resolving those mechanical issues. If you are looking for a reliable vehicle with dealers who genuinely care about their customers, look no further than Andy, Jason, and the team at Romsey Car Centre. I would highly recommend them!

Excellent Service and Accomodating…

Excellent Service and Accomodating Staff
I had an excellent experience at Romsey Car Centre from start to finish. The staff were welcoming, professional, and genuinely helpful without being pushy. They took the time to understand what I was looking for and offered honest advice, which made the whole process feel relaxed and stress-free.

The selection of vehicles was impressive, with well-maintained cars at fair prices. Everything was clearly explained, from financing options to warranty details, so I felt confident in my decision. The team went above and beyond to ensure I was happy with my purchase.

I would highly recommend this car centre to anyone looking for a smooth and trustworthy car-buying experience

An honest dealer

We bought a car from Jason at Romsey Car Centre in January. Upon buying the vehicle, they had the failures and advisories from the MOT sorted, which we were pleased about. After driving the car home, the following day, I noticed that there was a tear in one of the leather seats and later in the week the engine management light came on. After discussing both issues with the dealer, they agreed to pay for the seat repair to be done locally to them (which was a little inconvenient for us living an hours drive away) and they paid for a garage local to us to fix the other issue. Thankfully no further issues have been identified since and the car has been great. We found them to be competitively priced and professional to deal with.

Would avoid…

Bought a car just over a year ago broke down almost instantly and they did fix it after some convincing. They were very reluctant to extend our warranty despite us not even having the car working for over half of the original warranty. Car has broken down again (5th time this year) with the same problem as originally sold with and have just been informed by another garage that it had been a botched repair. Romsey car centre are painful to deal with and definitely sold us a shit car. Would strongly advise to stay clear

Very pleased.

Recently purchased a new used car, very pleased with the service, and got a better trade in for our old one that we anticipated. Not the usual pushy salesman either.

Great car and experience

Drove up at late notice for a competitively priced BMW Estate, though gave them very little notice they’d managed to give the car a good clean up. Fast and efficient sale, early days to fully judge but 4 weeks in and the car has been a dream, over 10 years old and high mileage, but drives like near new. My experience very positive, good car, friendly and efficient service too.

Behaviour of salesman

I visited this garage today and after leaving the garage the older salesman was speeding around the corner to go into budds lane and got annoyed as he had to stop to let me through. After blasting his horn at me twice he turned his red mini with trade plates in it around and followed me to the petrol station where he followed me in and banged on the toilet door whilst I was in there clearly trying to intimidate me.

He then waited outside for me and approached my car and started shouting and being abusive both in hispeech and hand gestures. Calling me madam doesn't excuse the way you were towards me.

Clearly I won't be buying a car from this garage if one of their salesmen can be so threatening and abusive to a female member of the public just because they didn't give way to them........

He denied being a car salesman at the garage but unfortunately not only did he have trade plates in his car but he had also spoken to me at the car show room as he walked out of the office. I would suggest maybe a customer care course or anger management course would be suitable for this man.

Great customer service when things went wrong

I went to Romsey Car Centre because their prices were competitive. They had a good selection of cars and they were happy to let me look around without being pushy about sales. No one approached me so I went to them (they may have done if I had taken longer looking but I knew what I was interested in and went to them); this is a positive to me. They were happy for me to take cars on a test drive and look around at my leisure. When I decided what I liked they talked me through what history they had for it and what the process was if I wanted to proceed. They didn't push when I said that I needed to go away and discuss it with my wife. When I called back a few days later and let them k ow that I wanted to go ahead with the purchase, they took my card details and took the small deposit needed. They then put the car through the MOT. I took the car with a 3 month warranty. When I got in the car the next day, the clutch pedal hit the floor and didn't return unless lifted. Called garage, they said to get it back to them (which I did with the help of the AA) and they would sort it under warranty. I was expecting to have to fight for this but there was no argument at all from them - they said the warranty covers anything that might go wrong and it did. They replaced the clutch (which was the problem) and fly wheel (because they were in that area and they thought it looked like it needed doing). They offered me my old part exchange back as a courtesy car while I was without my new car. I can't fault the service. I have dealt with three members of staff and all have been polite and professional and, more importantly, not slimey salespeople.

Very helpful and friendly

Steve, Jason and the whole team were super helpful with the purchase of my car. I traded mine on too and they offered a fair price. I’m really happy with my car three weeks on. I’d highly recommend this garage.

Sold a lemon 🍋

Sadly, feel i've been sold a lemon and have had nothing but trouble with the car. Purchased on 28th Jan, and since Feb/March began to notice a strong smell of fuel and two tyres were constantly losing pressure. As it was still in warranty I contacted Romsey to see what they could do and they suggested I drop car at a local (to them) tyre garage for them to check. Huge nail in one tyre but rather than replace either tyres, they re-sealed them. A few weeks later, one starts to lose pressure daily again. April a HUGE crack in the windscreen appears. Never happened to me before, understand these things happen, but I only drive the car 3x a week and it had only been 3 months.. So that's circa £150 spent already on a new windscreen. June/July the fuel smell increases and now a whistling noise when i accelerate. End of July, breaks now feel a bit dodgy. Dropped at garage this week for them to check, and come out with a bill of £1,300! And that's only for the immediate issues and potential MoT failures (despite this having an MOT on 25th Jan!) The advisory list goes on! I've only had the car 6 months. Never have I experienced so many problems and I've never had to spend this much on one garage visit in my 20 years of owning and driving cars! The garage (P&B Autocentre) that did the MoT on 25th Jan must surely have seen some advisories, there is just no way these issues could have all occurred in the less than 8,000 miles I've driven it in 6 months. Detailed list below for anyone interested!

-Timing chain sounding noisy
- All 4 injector seals blowing
- Drive belt and tensioner worn
- Front wipers noise
- Tyre sealant out of date 04/17
- Front discs corroded
- Exhaust system corroded
- Both track rod end boots perished
- rear coil springs corroded
- OSR caliper seized and rear breaks have over heated
- Rear trailing arm bushes perished
- Rear bushes worn
- Oil level high
- NSF tyre deep cut in it and showing age cracks
- OSR tyre showing age cracks

**EDIT - I am genuinely shocked to have just received a call from Romsey Car Centre complaining about my review. My review of 3 stars which is fair, FACTUAL and valid. I am 8 months pregnant and do not appreciate being aggressively argued with by any company! No apology, no offer to rectify anything now, no offer for me to bring it in just so they could check it over.. Instead they asked to see my invoice from the garage because they've 'probably over charged' me for things that 'didn't need doing'. I've used my garage for YEARS and I trust their judgement. Using that as a counter argument for the issues I've experienced is poor. Negative reviews can be frustrating, but how you've subsequently just dealt with mine has made my experience 10x worse. Disappointing.

Save your money!! Go elsewhere!!

Brought a car from them in march 2022. I would highly recommend staying as far away from this company as possible! Not only had they sold me a car that had significant issues that needed sorting almost from day one and put minimal effort in to find a solution. But also i just took the car to a very representable garage to have it traded in for something newer and trust worthy to find it has also had the milage clocks tampered with therefore it was basically unsellable!!! They sound like your mates on the phone, but to put it plain, your typical back street dodgy car sellers! Stay clear!

Do not buy your car from this garage

Do not buy your car from this garage! The day I picked up the car the engine light came on and the car was in limp mode! Sent it back and the garage claimed they had fixed the problem, engine light came on again, sent it back and again they said the problem was fixed...this happened 6 times!!! In the end I took it to an independent garage and was told not to drive the car, it’s unsafe and should not have passed an MOT, there was a list of faults which cost me £1000 to get fixed! I wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone else so please don’t buy your car from this garage!!!

Avoid at all costs!

On the 1st of December 2018, nearly 7 months pregnant with twins, I purchased what I hoped to be a reliable family car (Vauxhall Zafira) from Romsey Car Centre (Budds Lane Industrial Estate). Little did I know that my £2500 hard earned money would only get me 2066 miles and less than 6 months driving/8 months owning (had a caesarean so couldn’t drive for 6 weeks). That is £1.21 per mile! £417 pounds per month I was able to drive it or £312.50 per month I had it before it needed a new engine. They don’t care at all and have pretty much said tough and won’t do anything. Avoid at all costs!
