I’m off sick and wanted to join RMT to get help with returning to work but they refuse to help. Small wonder less and less young people join these money grabbing unions.

RMT in Mitie eurostar is only deducting people money no action. Planned strike to go on strike was been postponed and then cancelled. It's such a shame to the RMT union for deducting money and always not showing in action.
They don’t even drive the trains anymore. Haven’t for years.
All they do is open and close the doors.
Nice work if you can get it.
Deliver an ultimatum: come into work, without fail, or you’re out.
In the current climate their salaries of between £65,000 - 75,000 are absolutely absurd. Frankly there should be dramatic pay cuts.
What they do requires no particular expertise. They aren’t doctors, dammit.
It would take less than a week to train replacements who would be glad to get the job for half what these chancers are being paid.
What the hell has happened to this country?
This is Broken Britain at it’s finest.
They only know to bring misery in the world.
Past 15 years they striked 10 times more than anybody else.
Hope your bosses go to prison
After hearing about GMB unions, I thought i come and check on RMT. Only to find out, most rating are not from RMT members but people annoyed by RMT strikes for their members. I guess it mean it is a good union 🤣😅.
But my thoughts, read for yourself.
Oh yeah to confirm RMT doesn't represent the train drivers Aslef does...so directing your anger at the wrong union
The pre-fight talk of Muhamed Ali with the strength of a dunked Rich Tea.
Awful, likes to use its train driver members as industrial muscle, but doesn’t attempt to better their conditions.
This is a good honest guy and the best possible representation for all concerned.
The pay and conditions are not that bad. It is clear that these rail unions do not think customer. In February we are meant to be travelling to London from the South West for my wife to have a vital cancer scan at a specialist London Unit. We have booked trains to go and return and a hotel booking as tests begin early in the morning. Yes we get a refund then what? Coach journey is draining after exhausting tests. We booked decent rail seats. This is not the first time that medical appointments impacted. We are not billionaire press barons. If I have to I will find the money to pay for taxis, these conditions are life and death treatment matters not toasting with cocktails in the west end. I do not know if these strikes have the full support of members or whether many are silent fearing reprisal threats. Anyway my wife and I it seems are many of the pawns called customers. Frankly I look at these strikes and regretfully say that the laws should be changed to prevent or mitigate damage. My wife’s cancer is worsened by stress releasing proteins, unions take note
Useless union for station staff. Fu*k them
I've joined a few times and left and I've had enough of them. I've worked at a few stations and 1 industrial rep was uncontactable and refused to come to a disciplinary. Another industrial rep didn't get along with/ talk to me who even raised a grievance against me. I've contacted the head office those few times to explain the situations. The gave me a few other numbers of industrial reps to which they didn't care about. I cancelled my direct debit as I felt like my money was being wasted as I didn't have any support from anyone from RMT.
Luckily I got a job as a driver and I moved over to ASLEF as they are very welcoming by introducing me to my local industrial rep who went out of their way to introducing themself to me as well as a member of the trains functional council and they have been very supportive of a case ongoing at the moment.
What the biggest joke that RMT did is they sent an email asking the reason for cancelling my direct debit and membership and I sent a very detailed email and I said IF this gets looked into and dealt with but I knew I was wasting my time sending it as expected, I received no response.
They always say in solidarity. That's not true.

As always the RMT hold the country to ransom. Yes, some workers are underpaid and deserve a rise but train drivers continually hold the country to ransom. Every boxing day there is an excuse of why they are striking. I work for the NHS, we accepted a much lower offer than that given to the RMT but there comes a time where patients or in your case customers come first. I don't want to hear about no pay rise in last couple of years, neither did we and when you look at the pay increases over the last 5 years, guess what? Train drivers had the most because they know the country won't run without them. Bring on driverless trians and stop making us pay for a service that is behind the times because all the money goes to drivers, over £60,000 so we can't invest in improvements and people on the platforms.
Also to Alan Pottage. No, I'm not a Conservative, I'm a realist. By your narrow mindedness you are exactly the type of person hard working people in this sort of situation detest. You think because we complain we have a Conservative mindset. No, I need to get to my job, to get paid and pay my bills and live. What a self absorbed individual you are which literally typifies how selfish these strikes are

What a shame to strike on consecutive weekends and punish the general public once again, especially people like myself who live alone and depend on train transport to maintain any form of social life. I now have to fork out absolutely loads on taxis or hotels to attend my pre-planned events (if I can even afford it as it's in the hundreds), and yet I haven't had a pay rise. Get it together and do something that actually impacts the people who pay your wages.
so, over recent months, members of my family have been unable to attend a funeral because of strikes, have been unable to attend job interviews because of strikes and with the new strike dates issued, my son is struggling to get train up here in time for his holiday flight....
RMT will blame the government of course and take no blame.. However, they forget the impact this has on the public... are all RMT workers paid enough, probably not, but some are paid very very well. but if I am in a low paid job that I feel I should be paid more for and was not getting the money i thought I was due... you know what I would do,, leave......I work in an industry where we are not allowed to strike... thats fine as people that are unhappy leave.. simples.. Strike after strike is never going to work and the union bosses who earn big money are not impacted like their members who keep losing money due to the strikes.. the government will not give in, you need a change of course as you are hurting the public as well as your members.. this "its the governments fault" is boring now.. virtually every other industry, normal NHS, prison, Police, teachers have all accepted. but hope,, RMT dont give a hoot and just keep hitting the public.. please note its the public that suffers, not the government, I am no fan of this government, trust me.. but do you really think these strikes will bring them to the table.. grow up and think of the public..yes, I expect to be labelled misinformed.. LOL......
A very democratic trade union where members make all the decisions. RMT is a strong union and capable of standing up for its members. The purpose of a union is to give ordinary workers protection and a proper voice by combining with your workmates. On your own you are vulnerable and easy to exploit by ruthless managers. You could be unfairly sacked, bullied, harassed , exploited , intimidated and worse! It happens.
Most negative comments you will read on Trust Pilot are by angry, frustrated Tories who despise the thought of working people standing up for ourselves. “Flog ‘em and hang them!” , ‘how dare they try save jobs and make their industry safer’ . How dare they fight for decent pay and pensions. How dare they expose the rip off in U.K. where greedy privateers make £millions at the expense of passengers and staff.
Do yourself a favour - if you work in Transport or energy then join RMT. I’ve been in over 40 years and it’s the best thing I ever did .

Paid for RMT as a bus driver for years. When needed they sent some absolute shambles of reps who was also a bus driver. So not a professional rep. Cost me my job due to the rep not knowing enough or seeing wrong information. When I wanted to take it to court they didn't want to know. What a waste of money. Don't get robbed by these fraudsters.
Yet another day of hassle for the public, caused by this useless union. How sad that the RMT union is just a pathetic front for the Marxist fool that is Mick Lynch and his pathetic cronies. These fools are there to take down the government and nothing else. Listening to Twit Lynch spouting his absolute twaddle about levelling up the wealth of our country makes me puke. Its got nothing to do with trains has it Mick? You and the RMT care nothing of milking your paying members, only for your personal Marxist agenda. Shame on your pathetic union and your brain washed members who care nothing for holding the people of this country to ransom. Your all a total embarrassment to the UK and you will never win the support of the general public. Your just not clever enough.
Worked as a bus driver for four years, was a member of the RMT. They were not in the least bit interested in anything except rail workers. The rest of us us just bolstered their back handers. Will not join a union again as they are not really interested in all their members.
Love them
Fought the bosses and won
Its a trade union and does a great job
