Sales staff are extremely helpful

I was pleased with Riverside Volvo Hull and would recommend them because Jack Smith our sales representative exceeded our expectations and although there were some cosmetic concerns these were addressed and resolved quickly without hesitation. Jack made the whole process a pleasure.

Riverside Volvo Wakefield were great…

Riverside Volvo Wakefield were great because From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism, and the entire process, from browsing the selection to finalising our purchase, was smooth and enjoyable.

A special thank you to James for being so knowledgeable, patient, and understanding of our needs. He took the time to answer all our questions and ensured we were comfortable every step of the way.

We are extremely pleased with our new XC40, and couldn't be happier with our decision to purchase from your dealership. It's rare to encounter such a high level of service, and we will certainly recommend Riverside to friends and family.

Thank you again for making this such a positive experience

Riverside Volvo Doncaster were great…

Riverside Volvo Doncaster were great because we went on a test drive with Johnny but then he has been off since, Richard was great and took over our sale, he called in dec to let me know it was looking good for 1st March, we did have a problem with the lease plan as were told that if we found one cheaper we could go for thats, when git to the day we were told they were ha ing a volvo day and to wait til then, unfortunatley the price went up, they were unable to offer the price we had previously seen, the manager sorted a cash payment for us and we were happy with that. Pick up day was very smooth with Richard and he showed us all we needed and went through the extra covers we could take out
We did however notice a couple of scratches on the boot after we had parked up and this was due to the sun then shining on it that you could see them, Richard is sorting for these to be done
All in all good customer service from Richard and having had the car now a week I love it

Riverside Honda Wakefield title their Customers as "NUISANCE"

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service provided by the Riverside Honda Wakefield Service team. My car has been with them for three weeks due to a fault with the turbo they replaced only two months ago.

When I first enquired on 11 February, I was told they could not identify the issue and would not be able to investigate further until 23 February. As a result, my car sat there for two weeks with no progress whatsoever.
When I called again on 24 February, I was informed that the problem was with the replacement turbo supplied by a Ford dealer (TrustFord Castleford Ford Store & Transit Centre) and that it would need to be replaced again. I was told the car was in the workshop and that I would receive an update on 25 February to confirm whether it would be ready. No one contacted me, so I called myself once again, no answer and no call back.

On 26 February, I finally managed to speak to someone, who abruptly stated that the car would not be ready and that it would be “next week only.” When I questioned this, I was suddenly told the car could be collected that day, only to be dismissed again with “it will be next week, we are extremely busy,” as if I were asking for a favour rather than a repair I am paying for.

When I explained how difficult this situation has been especially as I have had to rent a car for the past two weeks at £200 per week the call was transferred mid conversation without any acknowledgement by Kristy Sutcliffe. The manager, Ros, then answered and told me I was being a “NUISANCE,” which is why I had been put on hold and transferred. According to them, I am not even allowed to express frustration after being without my car for weeks. They repeatedly give vague, generic answers about the vehicle, with no specific information. I have no idea what work has actually been carried out, and no documents or videos were provided. Then, at around 3:30 PM, I suddenly received a call saying the car was ready clearly showing they have no idea what is happening in their own workshop. I now have to take the car to another Ford service centre just to verify what has been done and whether there are any further issues.

The entire experience has been disrespectful, unprofessional, and deeply disappointing.

I chose this dealer expecting quality service and a reliable vehicle. Yet the turbo failed in under 3,000 miles. When I purchased the car, the sales executive, Laura Buchanan, claimed it had undergone extensive checks before sale. When I asked for a copy of these checks, they were unable to provide one raising serious concerns about the quality of their inspection process.

When I requested a courtesy car, I was told the type of warranty I “chose” did not include one, even though I was never given any options at the time of purchase. When I questioned this, Laura repeated that I was not eligible based on the warranty. I asked whether I had been offered any choices when buying the car she admitted I had not. She then claimed that because the car is not a Honda brand, it is automatically excluded. This should have been communicated clearly from the start. Instead, I was made to feel as though I had declined something I was never offered. Internal policies may make sense to the dealership, but customers need clear, honest communication.

To add to this, when I mentioned that I was considering selling the car and asked for a valuation, I was told, “When you have the car, we’ll have a look.” The car has been on their premises for three weeks, yet she could not simply step outside to inspect it. Completely unacceptable.

I would never recommend this dealership to anyone.

Bought a used Taycan at Riverside Hull

Bought a used Taycan at Riverside Hull. The entire experience was amazing and seamless. Andy was great, patient and communicative. Kept me abreast at all times and delivered every time, no broken promises, no hard sale. I highly recommend this company especially when you compare to some of the other car sales groups out there such as Big MW. Here, what you see is what you get and probably worth the small premium charged here, no faffing around on picking up the car, in and out in less than an hour. Aftersales is great too, have had about 3 check ups from them within 2 weeks to ensure all is good and that I remain happy with my purchase. I would intentionally buy from them again.

Travelled all the way from Cheltenham…

Travelled all the way from Cheltenham to Hull to view a Hyundai Kona. This vehicle then broke down on the test drive and the dealership could not repair it.They did pay my return rail fare.Later that week they told me the car had been repaired and they could deliver it.When asked if they could extend the warranty from 3 months to 6 months to restore my faith in the car they refused. They said they could increase it to 12months but I would need to travel back up and collect it which did'nt make sense to me.I found the dealerships customer service lacking and would not trust them. Now I see the car readvertised with a higher price presumably to cover the cost of the repairs.Make your own mind up but personally I would not trust them.

Extremely Disappointing Experience

We purchased a Polestar 2 from Riverside Wakefield in August 2023.

Shortly after purchase, the vehicle developed persistent water ingress into the cabin following rainfall. Over the subsequent two years, this resulted in repeated electrical faults, extensive rewiring, and multiple repair attempts via authorised Volvo/Polestar service centres.

The vehicle has been unavailable for use for close to 12 months in aggregate.

Despite repeated inspections and repairs — including a recent repair where water ingress was confirmed — the same issue has reoccurred. The vehicle is currently off the road again.

During this period, we have continued to make finance payments while also incurring rental vehicle costs due to the vehicle’s prolonged unavailability.

We formally requested that Riverside unwind the transaction. This request was declined.

We appreciate that used vehicles can require maintenance; however, prolonged recurrence of the same defect over a two-year period goes beyond reasonable expectations.

This review reflects our documented experience.
