Used to be very good but now the food is at best average.

It is over a year since I was last in Rishi’s. This had also been a midweek visit, and the place was very busy however on this occasion there were only two other tables eating. The second concern was the new menu, which was now typically Indian, but I managed to find my usual favourites and started with the Chana Bhatura. This arrived without the chutneys I had become accustomed to which made the meal a little bland. The Bhatura itself was a little overcooked, being crisp and greasy on the bottom. I am a fan of spicy food and the Lamb Vindaloo from Rishis used to be one of the best. Unfortunately, on this occasion, despite the fancy new tableware there was a lot of gravy and little meat (even less when I found that a lot of it was potato). The gravy was grainy due to cayenne pepper being added to a stock sauce and lacked the fragrance and sour notes of vinegar and garlic I had come to expect. The waitress offered to rectify the sauce but when the dish was returned it was a bland sauce and minus the meat from my original dish!
My wife had the Murg Malai Kebab which was bland and lacking in any Tandoori oven flavour with an acrid sauce.
The waitress was apologetic, but I was still charged full price for half a meal! Not sure where it all went wrong but we won’t be going back, and I could certainly not recommend it anymore.

Food is nice

Food is good, when they say its not spicy and menu says not spicy be aware it will be spicy so keep water on your table. Good experience bit had to get extra drinks to kill the spice.

Had a great experience in this restaurant. Absolutely amazing food and the service as well. The social guidelines were carried out perfectly across the restaurant and the staff were very careful as well. Always the food from this place is amazing. If you looking for Indian and Sri Lankan food this is the place in Aberdeen.
