Staff pushy ,no communication ,food good but pressuring you to order

We visited Rinaldis this afternoon for a meal for 7 of us. We were greeted and shown to our table promptly, the waiting staff were brilliant. HOWEVER… we ordered a child’s ’grilled chicken breast’ and this was served before our meals - which was perfect for our 2 year old. Half way through the meal, my 2 year old started crying and spat out a sharp 2cm BONE from her child’s grilled chicken breast.
I asked for a member of staff to look at this bone, and the owner (or so I am told) came over. I politely said we had just found the bone in her meal, to which her reply was ‘it’s chicken, we can’t say it’s boneless’. I replied with, with respect, it’s not what you’d expect in a child’s dish and there was no warning on the menu to say this item may contain bones. I explained that I was aware that it wasn’t personally her fault but this could have been a choking incident, let alone the fact that it had cut her cheek. The owner’s response was ‘well chickens do have bones so what do you expect?’. I was appalled! There was no apology and no concern for the welfare of my 2 year old.
Fortunately for this disgustingly rude owner, her staff made sure that my 2 year old was ok and apologised for the bone in the meal. She is incredibly lucky that her waiting staff have excellent customer service skills and did the job that she should have done in the first place. The disregard for the potential events that could have followed if my 2 year old had not had the sense to spit the bone out and had ingested the bone, choked or worse was incredibly infuriating.
If you are wanting to visit this restaurant, don’t forget to check any meat for bones ‘because animals have bones you know!’

Rinaldis WAS one of the leading restaurants in Wakefield .. my go to place... great food.. great atmosphere and felt authentic.

Was soooo disappointed with my recent visit. The food was awful, certainly not home made as described. The party I was with left so much and not one person asked if everything was OK? ... they used to make a fuss when it was someone's birthday... now there is nothing.. gone down the pan .. don't bother going its a complete waste of money.

We have lived a few minutes away from this restaurant for over 12 years and didn’t go in thinking perhaps not! We have always travelled to restaurants. We went in on a whim one Saturday. This is our second visit in as many weeks!!! Fabulous value, portion sizes perfect, staff amazing this is our new “go to restaurant. Thank you RInaldis, we will be regulars,

We attended Rinaldis today, a party of 13... 5 children 8 adults. Our children all aged under 5. All very well behaved for the good 2 hours we were in the restaurant. At one point my 2 year old nephew got up to run to his aunty at the other side of the table just as the waitress/manager was seating another table behind us. To which my friend was told by the waitress ‘control your kids’. My friend is also 6 months pregnant and was VERY upset by this. He was doing nothing wrong just running to his aunty! Very very rude customer service and will not be attending again. My tip .. IF YOU’VE GOT KIDS DON’T ATTEND!!

Phoned to make a booking and was told by an abrupt lady that they don't accept bookings. I wanted a table for 10 but she would not make an exception. Said we could turn up but if they were busy we'd have to wait. Not really possible with 2 elderly parents in the party. Attitude was appalling.

Went to Rinaldi’s at 5pm today, the lobby was full and there were eight of us.
We had all met in the pub next door at 4pm. so just before 5pm we walked next door to Rinaldi’s. Some of us were fast walkers as others were slow, we said we were here for a table for 8, I was told very sharply that she will not show us to our table until we were all there, although we told her that the other 4 are walking slowly from the pub next door, I was told sharply again that it was policy that they cannot seat us until we were all there. Eventually 2 of them arrived and asked why we were we not sat at the table, I told them that apparently it was policy not to seat us until everyone was here. I shook my head and quite loudly I was asked by the female staff “why was I shaking my head” I replied that I thought it was ridiculous not seating us as the lobby was full. Another female staff said to me that she didn’t like me talking to her staff like that, and I was asked to leave, so I did. How ridiculous was that!

We had three courses all being very good!
I am a blue badge holder whom didn’t advertise this! And my friend wasn’t to well and needed food and we were seated immediately without waiting more guests!
I was impressed and completely satisfied with the service

Absolutely disgusting service from the manager. Carried off due to my exempt card and being unable to wear a mask due to personal reasons. The manager refused our entry unless we purchased face coverings and did not take into account our medical reasoning. As this was an important occasion we had no choice but they were so terrible for the sake of a few steps away. Pathetic. Nice food but awful service which is a shame because the manager was the problem but the waiting staff were lovely.

If you have a hidden disability you are not welcome at rinaldis, I have been humiliated tonight by the owner tonight in front of the whole restaurant because he refused to accept that I was medically exempt from wearing a face mask. Shocked upset and disgusted at how Iv been treat and spoken to this evening, shame on you rinaldis

Always a great experience at Rinaldis, Nigel always looks after us. The food is amazing and you never have to wait long. Would highly recommend.

We have been coming to Rinaldis for many years and we always have a great meal and night out!

My favorite place to eat in Wakefield! Great food, wine and atmosphere! I would highly recommend!

Frequent this place very regularly, sometimes twice a week, the staff are excellent, Nigel always gives us a great table and Glyn always comes over for a good chat! Great atmosphere, brilliant food, what more could you ask for!
