Considering 391 reviews, customer experiences were mixed overall. Many people consistently praise the professionalism, politeness, and efficiency of the staff and engineers. Reviewers frequently highlight good communication regarding arrival times and timely service, often noting that plumbers arrive as scheduled and complete jobs quickly. However, many customers express significant dissatisfaction with the pricing, often finding it very expensive or describing it as excessively high. Avoid, use a local plumber

I would strongly advise people to be extremely careful before using Rightio.
We contacted them after finding their advert in a local village magazine. The advert used a local number and gave the impression of being a local plumbing service. In reality, the whole process felt much more like dealing with a call-centre-led national operation than a local tradesperson.
We had several relatively straightforward plumbing issues: a leak near a shower control, leaking pipes under two sinks, and a toilet cistern issue. Nothing that should have been complicated.
The plumber arrived, but very little actual work was carried out. A significant amount of time was spent walking around, sitting in the van, and making repeated phone calls to the office. This was particularly frustrating because the company charges by the hour, and once you move into the next hour, you are charged for the full hour.
After more than an hour, almost nothing had been done. The plumber said parts were needed, which was fine. I asked what parts, checked the likely trade cost myself, and found the parts would be around £210 at most. He actually had one of the required parts in the van, but said he still could not proceed until the office had agreed pricing.
This is where the alarm bells really started. The plumber could not simply get on with the work. Everything had to go through the office. I asked to speak to them because time was being wasted while we were being charged. They said they could not tell me the price there and then and would need to call me back.
When they eventually called back, they quoted over £760 for the repairs, including parts and labour. When I asked for the parts breakdown, they quoted £360 plus VAT for parts that I had already checked and knew were nowhere near that amount. After I challenged this, they came back with a reduced figure of around £550, which only confirmed my concern that the pricing was not transparent or reasonable.
In the end, I paid £199 just to get the plumber to leave, with the work still not completed.
My view is that this service is designed to take advantage of people who do not know what parts should cost, do not understand how long simple plumbing jobs should take, or feel pressured once someone is already in their home. Had my wife been dealing with this on her own, she may well have agreed to the inflated quote.
The plumber himself was polite enough, but the business model and pricing process felt completely wrong. Too much time was wasted, too little work was done, and the quoted cost was wildly out of line with the parts required.
I would not use Rightio again and would strongly recommend getting a clear fixed quote from a genuinely local independent plumber before agreeing to anything with this company.

The Plumber who called was excellent

The Plumber who called was excellent. A local plumber to the area, he found the problem and repaired the leak within the hour. However, RIGHTIO plumbers I would not recommend as they overcharged me and have not intentions of repaying me. Their advert clearly states that there is a special rate for OAP's because I did not tell them, when I called, that I am an OAP they will not give me the discount. My argument is they did not ask me if I qualified for this discount, they said they don't like to ask the question as it could upset some people. So in their eyes people can get upset if they are saving money. Be very careful this company are VERY expensive my advice is don't use them.

Cowboys Ltd

If I could give this company a zero I would. Honestly, they are cowboys. They take a deposit before they've even visited your house to assess the problem. The 'assessment' costs circa £200 and if you decide not to use them because they quote an extortionate price for a small job they make it really difficult to get your deposit back. It's theft basically - they don't even tell you in the initial call that they're taking a deposit. They quote a ridiculous price for a small job and take money regardless of whether they carry out the work. Do not use this company, they are criminal. They symbolise everything that is wrong with the UK.

Avoid do not use this company.

Avoid do not use this company.
Gave them a call to change a stop velve under sink the gland had a slight weep which he did stop by cranking it as tight as he could which is a no no.
Then we went out into the street to turn the main stop velve off i went back in house to check water had stopped but was still running he then said the velve in the street was vaulty and i need to call severn trent because water was still running he suggested putting a new stop velve above the old one which is poor practise so another no no all this whilst water still running which i said no and i still got charged £125 plus vat for him being here for 15 mins.
Severn trent came out 2 days later and confirmed nothing wrong with valve in the street so if you want to pay to have a job not done this is the company for you

Hello Dawn,

We're very sorry to read about your experience and sincerely apologise that we didn't meet your expectations.

We understand how frustrating it must have been to feel that the issue wasn't resolved, especially after Severn Trent later advised there was no fault with the external stop valve. We take feedback like this very seriously, as we always aim to provide accurate advice and a high standard of workmanship.

We'd really appreciate the opportunity to look into this further. Please contact directly with your job reference or contact details so we can review the engineer's report, investigate what happened, and discuss your concerns with you.

We apologise again for your experience and hope you'll give us the opportunity to make this right.

Dear but do work to a high standard

They are pretty dear, but the service is very good indeed. The Lewisham plumbers/engineers come when they say they will, come with the parts, get the work done within the quoted time and leave everything working and tidy after them. Only gripe: he left the smart-controlled boiler switched to 'summer mode' and we had a chilly snap a few days after. Took m a while to figure out why I had no CH!

Customer service is really good and staff are polite and thorough. Job was complete efficiently and quickly and have no complaints about the work. The only negative is it’s very expensive. I paid £300 including parts to fix a leaky toilet. Would recommend if you can afford a slightly more expensive service
