Racist and sexist Gallery curator Catherine McCormack delivered a speech last night where the viewers were told there are too many white male artists working in the art world. Had she said black or female she would have been taken to task for bigotry. But somehow it's ok to insult half the room who have taken time out to support her weak exhibition. Judging peoples creative worth based on sex or skin colour characteristics that they have no choice over is pathetic and an insult to the premise of the exhibition which was allegedly about championing less well known female artists. The hypocrisy of such a statement is outrageous. Catherine, Art schools in the UK are now 80% female students anyway. This curator thinly veils her racism and contempt towards 50% of the planet by masquerading as a virtuous champion for the female art world buts such a statement makes it clear her motivations are really about making an overcorrect for perceived historical wrongdoings and white guilt. Grow up and consider your audience a bit more next time you choose to make such an insipid statement Catherine.
