On 8 July 2026, I sent three payments totalling €2,492.98 to the wrong Revolut user after Revolut displayed a person with a similar name through its internal transfer system.
This was not a normal bank transfer where I entered an IBAN and received an IBAN-name check. Revolut showed the recipient inside its own app, while no IBAN or sufficient identifying information was visible for me to verify the person properly.
I reported the issue immediately. Revolut confirmed that the recipient received the money and that they contacted the recipient three times. The recipient still did not return the funds.
Despite this, Revolut has failed to provide a proper solution, a clear technical explanation or reimbursement. I am still waiting for answers about why this person was suggested, what information was shown before payment and why no extra verification took place for three transfers totalling €2,492.98.
For a financial app, the recipient verification and recovery process has been deeply disappointing. I expect Revolut to investigate its own payment interface, take responsibility where appropriate and help recover my money.

Avoid - not a trustworthy company, awful customer service
I had a Revolut card about ten years ago that I stopped using pretty quickly after a stressful experience with their system outages. I have been trying to remove myself as a customer ever since and they just ignore my requests. Now they have created a bank account in my name, ignoring numerous requests that they desist and delete my details. I find it shocking the company thinks it is OK to automatically create bank accounts without allowing people to opt out. The customer service is abysmal. Not a trustworthy place to put your money.

Went to Egypt with this card. It was invaluable. I then went to Holland to visit family and the card worked really well. I would recommend this card to anyone travelling abroad

Works very well
Works very well, particularly abroad where I can pay in the local curency and keep track of my expenses. Also tried their eSIM option which worked very well and can be toppped up if needed. Overall I'm well pleased both at home and abroad. No complaints so far.
