It’s unbelievable that a bank like RBFCU would have you wait on hold for about four minutes while they type an email to check if someone is available to talk! An email... really? They can’t just pick up the phone? The woman answering the phone to connect calls was rude, and the person I asked for never even returned my call. Why would I consider taking out a loan with a bank that clearly doesn’t care about its customers?
Thank you for the reply, RBFCU. I am NOT e-mailing you to discuss issues. Three times I left messages for the female in mortgage loans, with whom I initially spoke to, and she never bothered to return my call.

This bank 🏦 shite
I borrowed 10k from my mom to purchase a vehicle 🚗 because I haven’t a car for years, then my mom wrote me 2 checks 5000 dollars on each I’m so happy and do quickly mobile deposit, after Rbfcu sent me a message said checks are fraud
Why is fraud? I asked nothing explain and they holded 2 checks for 2 weeks without season. I should changed another bank 🏦 unless better

I would not recommend RBFCU for banking services. We have a few personal accounts as well as a business account through RBFCU. I have had numerous issues with them placing holds on checks for our businesses. So I have asked for my check back to take to other banks we use so we can pay our employees. Friday we went in to pay a loan off and they us they would place a hold on a check to pay off the note for 10 days, so they recommended to bring in cash or money order to avoid the hold. So today, Monday, we bring in cash… as they requested…. And they still want to place a hold on cash to pay off the note. I have never seen a bank that doesn’t want to take money but it seems that RBFCU doesn’t want to take your money or pay off your loans. We will be closing all of our accounts once the hold on our CASH is removed and the note is paid off.

We opened a savings account after paying off a home loan. We let the money sit and earn(?) 0.3%. interest. Since we didn't actively access or use our savings account, they started charging $5/month inactivity fee! What? It's a savings account! They claimed they mailed us notification---we never received. RBFCU emails us advisements but they state they don't email or text notices. And logging online to your account, they only show 2 months statement history. Their response is it's their policy. Their policy is the Wild West: Highway Robbery. Steer clear!

My car loan is through RFBCU and I have sent them documentation of my insurance for months now and they just decided to charge me their own insurance. Despite uploading the proof to their site that they ask you to upload to repeatedly.

Their website has been not working and I am unable to get access to my bank statements. They are going to charge me $150 for the bank statements and take 10 days to get them to me. And THEIR WEBSITE is the cause of me not baking able to do it on my own. No rush to get me what I need and a crazy fee to add to their website not working. Mind blown at the lack of customer support and trying to make this right. Not surprised there is a 1.5 star rating.

As a credit union, RBFCU has exceeded my expectations. But...This problem has existed for over a year. RBFCU sold the management of my 401k to Nationwide years ago. RBFCU attached the wrong information to my account when that transfer happened and now I can't get to my retirement account.
Both organizations will not take responsibility or offer help. I could never suggest trusting RBFCU with investments.
Follow up: as expected, RBFCU has quickly reached out to try to help. The problem was the person who originally created the paperwork.

We were scammed on a website . We asked RBFCU to help us recover our lost funds . They denied our claim because the transaction between the seller ( them ) and the buyer (us) was successful. That’s all the bank was telling us . That as long as the transaction was successful, we had no grounds for a claim.
We lost a lot of money .
RBFCU did nothing to help us

I've been with RBFCU for about a decade now, and for the most part it has been fine. However, my interactions with them today has made me want to bank elsewhere. I contacted support over an issue, and before we could discuss it, they wanted my entire card number to verify my identity and said there was no other way to do so. This is ridiculous because I know I have a security question, and my last four of my ss or card should have been enough. I had some other problems today, and it basically went as there is nothing they can do and I will be charged a fee. They have been mostly reliable up until I needed them most.

I have used them for fourteen years and USED to love them, but there have been far too many times I’ve had after hour issues and you absolutely cannot speak to anyone outside of normal hours. HORRIBLE service in that regard and their F’ing worthless automated answer system makes you listen to long winded speeches only to lead to dead ends where it doesn’t recite numbers you type in and/ or the system hangs up on you. My advice, find a bank that gives a damn about their customers

This 1-star is for Nick in the Home Loan Collections Dept. of which I was accidentally transferred to when my home loan isn’t late. (Which legally-speaking means the loan payment is 30 days past the due date and it’s at 16 days atm, and will be paid by EOW which isn’t the issue or what I was calling about.)
Nick started the call off by speaking poorly of the RBFCU rep that transferred the call for giving him the wrong information - which seemed odd, but after how he treated me, made sense, as everything Nick said was a trained gaslighting technique to get me to make a promise to pay for an account that’s not overdue. Which wasn’t what I spoke to him or the original rep about. This went on and reached an extremely offensive level with Nick refusing to transfer me to someone above him. He disconnected the call when he didn’t like his behavior being called out and I called RBFCU again and made a formal complaint. (And received a resolution to my original request.)
If RBFCU trains collection's reps to treat customers like dirt, when we literally pay your salaries, I hope all of you sleep really badly night after night. That includes Nick.
I am very disappointed with RBFCU. I had to file for Debt Consolidation. One of my Deposits was not changed in time. So the are not allowing me to withdrawal my pension. I have bills to pay and i will not be able to pay some of my bills due to this. $800 dollars I will not get.
RBFCU took care of the problem

Horrible 😞 follow up on loans.Terrible service. Primitive service still want you to go into one of the branches to follow up on the loan application that is ridiculous. Tray security service instead.

See my review from 15 Jan. I was flat lied to by the RBFCU Rep after that complaint. I was told that, if I brought my own witnesses I could have my signature notarized. When we arrived at the Bulverde office, Sarah abruptly declared that wasn't possible, despite my assuring her that the central office had told me to the contrary. Even my witnesses were taken aback by supervisor Sarah's attitude. I asked to speak to the manager, another total waste of time. Latest RBFCU reply is their standard canned reply. My review was originally emailed to them B4 I posted it here. Simply they don't care about hearing from their members/customers as long as they keep drawing a paycheck.

Applied for a mortgage with full disclosure that property was a condo in a HOA. Provided address AT TIME OF APPLICATION. So they had full knowledge. Asked loan officer three times if 5% down applied to mortgages on condo. Yes. Yes. Three weeks and enough paperwork for them to see every detail of my life and they say we’ll give you 75% but only if HOA is warrantable because this is a Fannie Mae loan and we have to go by their rules. Again THEY KNEW FROM THE START what kind of property this was and had 5% down payment in my pre-qual paperwork. I put in my offer based on that and now I’m out cash for inspection, option fee and agent fee for new homeowner’s policy. Two realtors won’t get commission after busting their tails. And seller obviously disappointed. What’s worse is all the skirting around answers or avoiding them altogether because they know they screwed up. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

I have been a member for over 25 years. I collect my change every day in a large container. When I would get it full, I would take it in and pour it in their counting machine and it would deposit the money in my account. This time they said they no longer own the machine and I would have to pay 5% to use it.
I took the coins home, stopped at an office supply store and purchase coin rollers, and spent time separating and rolling the coins.
When I returned to Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union, I was rudely told that they do not accept rolled coins. The only way I could deposit my $200.00+ coins was to open the rollers and pay their co-conspiriter 5%.
Fortunately, a sweet lady at HEB in Lavernia accepted my rolled coins and gave me paper money. May the Lord bless her and her house.

Leave before it's too late!!!! They stole my money and refuse to correct it or give it back and stopped me from getting any other bank account by reporting unnecessary and false data to credit bureau chex system!! Don't wait till it's too late!! Leave NOW and do NOT EVER apply for an account with them!!!!!

Complete waist of time, they pulled my credit (came back A+) but they were not actually interested in lending anywhere near their advertised rates nor according to any of their advertised terms on their website. Gerardo was even worse when they transferred my file to him.
