Had no problems before using the app…
Had no problems before using the app for my railcard - however the website is awful. Used the website and was continuously told try again there’s been a technical error. Turns out I was charged for the rail card on Feb 6th and hadn’t realised. When I asked via email for a download code as no confirmation was sent I got no reply. Called them and spoke to one helpful person who gave me the code however it had expired. The second agent I spoke with was helpful but very blunt. It was difficult to hear them using the phonetic alphabet some of the phonetics they were using were not standard and the code was wrong again and the customer service agent was very blunt and audibly frustrated, even asking me if I had the right app installed. To top it off my card expires on 2nd feb 2024 when payment was taken on the 6th it’s only 4 days I know but it’s 4 days I’ve paid for and also haven’t been able to use the railcard I paid for until now.
Rubbish website…
I also experienced the same website problems as other customers. I tried about 10 times and was losing the will to live, it was so frustrating! I then rang them and spoke to a very nice girl called Leah who promised everything but did absolutely nothing. The next day another nice person who cut me off in the middle of me giving her my passport number. Finally I spoke to Rahul who actually did what he promised. Thank you Rahul. It's 5 stars for you but only one star for Railcard.
Pointless having a network railcard
Bought a Network Railcard last Nov as it was marketed as a way to get a third off fares. I checked that Greater Anglia was one of the train operators that the card could be used with. I tried to book a trip today and it turns out that the card can only be used for a relatively short section of the line run by GA! So I can only use the card on trips that depart from one station and not trips where the train runs through this station having started elsewhere, even though ALL the stations are on the GA line🤯 IT’S NUTS!! And SUCH a scam! I can only use this railcard now if I drive down to this one specific station (2 stops from my home station) to get the train! Or I can pay full fare for 2 stops and then get the paltry discount for the rest of the journey (2 stops into London). I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND any railcard - they all have Ts&Cs that render them virtually useless.
Impossible to get a railcard
It's been days that I am trying to do a new railcard. It says broken website IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PROCESS which is overly irritating.
It's also impossible to make a complaint about it or getting help from them.
I hate it.
Terrible experience even worse website
This is one of the worst websites I have ever had the displeasure of using. "Technical error redirects" have been reported since 2020 and 3 years later the website is unusable.
Attempted to purchase a railcard via browser and also via the Railcard app and via a 3rd party service (EMR). All return errors.
This web development team should hang their head in shame. Absolute disgrace.
BROKEN WEBSITE
Spent the last 2 days trying to buy a Seniors Railcard. Every time I try to log in as requested half way through the application process I get an error message saying something is broken and they are trying to correct their technical difficulties. Absolutely hopeless!!
Renewing Disabled Persons Railcard over the phone
Renewing my railcard over the phone excellent. I tried to renew it online and website has currently ongoing issue since last year. Problem solved
It is impossible to order a digital railcard.
This website has been broken for an ENTIRE year. I tried to order a digital railcard last year and encountered an error while trying to log-in to my account, even after changing the password. It was literally impossible to order one online, so I settled for buying one in-person at a train station. This is unfortunate because you can only get 1-year railcards for physical copies, not 3-year ones.
Fast forward to the present, I am once again trying to order a digital railcard... And I am encountering the EXACT same problem as I had last year. Same errors, same obstacles, same problems. Cannot log-in. Cannot order a railcard. How is it even possible to mess up this badly? It's like the website just doesn't want anyone to actually buy railcards.
Thankyou
The man on the phone just then was really helpful we couldn’t fault him, Thankyou so so much
Managing expectations- application process unworkable
Managing expectations - don't waste too much time.
Have tried various methods repeatedly to get photos to fit the online requirements but without success.
Any interested Armed Forces Veteran should not waste too much time trying the online application process until it is fixed.
Adverts say a third off!
Adverts say a third off, so i bought one but when tried to book tickets for tomorrow found out that if you travel peak times in the morning it cant be used (in fact i would have to catch the 3.30am train to be able to use it!). So a total waste for me. And no refunds allowed. I will be complaining to trading standards as the railcard adverts are misleading!
Absolutely rubbish
Absolutely rubbish. Same error messages for me too despite different email address and browsers used. Phoned them up and even though Im registered and they have emailed me to confirm I am they can’t find me! Terrible customer service.
Railcard Renewal Shocker
Got an email 16/01/22 advising me that it was time to renew our two together rail card even though it didn’t expire until 8/2/23 so renewed but on checking new card it expires 16/01/24 not 8/02/24 so have LOST 25 days!! Just got email from customer services saying I pressed wrong link even though I had to log into my account and there was nothing they could do oh and hoping I have a nice day!!
I applied for two senior railcards…

Why should the customer lose out ?
I ordered a three year senior railcard and it didn't arrive. I emailed customer services who apologised and explained that there had been printing issues and it should be on its way. I emailed again and heard nothing and eventually rang and spoke to a very helpful member of staff who sorted it out there and then and I received it a couple of days later. Unfortunately it had been treated as if I had lost it and they were issuing a replacement which means that I have lost 20 days on the card through no fault of mine. I have emailed, written and emailed again to ask them to amend the vaild until date but have had no response. I know 20 days isn't a lot but this is all their mistake so why should the customer lose out, they just don't care.
website not working
website not working, no reply from customer sercice, cannot buy railcard, going to have to cancel my train ticket and pay the admin fee, then rebook with no railcard, all told this stupid website is going to cost me about 50 quid extra on this ticket because it never works!
share data with no authorization
They share you data with other website, such as completesavings.co.uk without even realising it.
not user friendly, and misleading the customers.
I was not aware that i had authorised sharing my payment details, bank cards bank accounts etc with another provider while i was purchasing the railcard. however, a membership popped up getting money from my bank account.
