As we as a family use computers and laptops for home

Excellent Service

Been to Radcliffe Computers several times for various problems etc. Hand on heart I cant fault the service I get from Peter and his staff. Help is always at hand and the quality of repairs/advice always good. Recently renewed Virus Protection through him and ended up saving money on the renewal notice I had received.

Don’t bother going here

Don’t bother going here. I went one week and got a quote for £45 then told bring it in next week can’t do this week too busy.
I take it in the following week to be told too busy again, they have customers that pay a monthly subscription so they are priority for repairs and the price has gone upto £65! I walked out of there fuming, wasted two weeks of my time! Rubbish customer service.

Hi Shaz, thank you for the review, even negative reviews help us to get better.
The original price quoted was indeed £45 for a power dc jack failure, this is true and you are correct, but you couldn’t leave it with us because you needed it, and yet you wanted the item repairing within a couple days.
As I mentioned at the time of your first visit bench time was busy, and yet you needed the item but couldn’t leave it for long. We did explain we had lots of jobs on the ticket system and getting to your item would take time, and we advised you could bring it back next week and we’ll “try” fit it in then. We could have offered express service charge at this point but didn’t because we didn’t have bench time even for an express.
So today you brought it back again as you said you would, but unfortunately bench time on the ticket system was busy again, the price increased on the ticket and as explained because you still needed it repairing quickly, we added the express service charge. We didn’t need to add the charge and I tried to explain that to you as I was filling in the ticket with your details, this is what the price should be as express service but the estimated price would be honoured at £45.
Whilst trying to explain what the difference was in the two different prices you decided you weren’t paying any increase, and you also stopped listening (of this we know because even when I said it’s still only £45… you didn’t hear me, you decided you were going to fume, I think your words were). You wanted the item back. As is your right even as we booked it in, so the ticket was cancelled. And of you went… sometimes listening helps as well.
1-star reviews are helpful Shaz, in that we get better at what we do, so whilst you explain about rubbish customer service work out how many 4 and 5 stars we have, and how many 1 stars do we have.
Bad day all round for us, stress for you with your need to get your job fixed, you wasted 2 weeks of your time… How? The item was not booked it in yet, how can an un-booked in job have wasted 2 weeks of your time? Did we have a service contract? or did you pay a deposit and request us order what we need? Did we strip the item down on first visit and obtain part numbers and assure you that on your second visit the parts would have been ordered and you will have been contacted as soon as they had arrived… and we would then only need the item for one day, did you book bench time? We have all these things we could have done. Including express service charge.
I apologise that you were not aware of the express service charge, but this review is good and positive and you are honest in what happened, I fear we let you down, but it is how we as a company get better in communications. By you addressing the failure in our communications, even whilst not listening and stopping our communications flat by fuming, as we tried to explain to you, we have now added the express service as a separate and optional item and will add it to future tickets when express service is required and or requested, like yours was.
What is the express service charge: varies between £20 and £150 depending on what it is? Where is the none stocked item coming from, the supplier costs, transit costs, air freight costs, insurance costs, increased costs for labour. £20 is the minimum we charge. We waive the charge if the service is not fulfilled within 3 days or if the task is impossible to achieve within that timescale.
Again, sorry if you didn’t understand that the extra £20 we added and then before it could be subtracted was for an express service. Our apologies. Hope you managed to get the item repaired.

Pete and team stripped it and cleaned it. Replaced the hard drive and we also upgraded RAM at the same time.

Quick and easy to deal with

Quick and easy to deal with. Pete replaced my hard drive and was done by the end of the following day. Happy with the price too!

Hard drive failed on my lap top

Hard drive failed on my lap top. New improved spec drive fitted and all files transferred, plus an upgrade to Windows 10 All for a reasonable £140.
Long may these local repairers exist.
