First class back up and knowledge of their machines.

Have always been delighted with my machine, but when it developed a minor fault I contacted them for advice. Machine is well out of warranty but the technical help line people went out of their way to assist and offer very comprehensive advice how to effect a fix. Safety and clarity assured I went in and everything went as described. They understand their products totally and respond very quickly to a call for assistance. Over the years I’ve bought 4 different machines and all have given excellent service.

Great machine

OK. I recently received delivery of the R Tech 181 mig welder. After 20 years of using my Clarke 151 te, the warhorse had become unreliable. So I was in the market for a new one. I thought about going down the traditional route of Sealey, Lincoln etc. But I had also been aware of the 181. I watched the videos. Seen the independent reviews and decided to make an informed decision. Now, the drawback was, it isn't cheap. More than twice the price of most other mig welders in that class. But I do a lot of welding, so I bit the bullet.
It's impressive. First thing I noted was its half the size of my old mig and thankfully, half the weight. It's easy to move around. Doesn't require wheels or a trolley. It's extraordinary lightweight in comparison.
I've done some test runs on it using easy setup. I love it. Couple of pushes of a button and you are away. It's great for me. I hated setting up after doing different work on different plates. On using, the beads are perfect. The runs are perfect. There has been no blow through even on the thinnest of mild steel. However, the most impressive part for me personally is I have always found welding upside down a bane. The constant irritation of blobs of weld falling on your arms and hand while laying on your back. This didn't happen. There was no spitting. No burn back. No dodgy Frankenstien lines. That was the most important thing to me. Personally, I think it's worth the extra monetary input. I'd go as far to say, for a hobbyist, professional or a beginner, this is the welder for you. Invest the extra money and reap the benefits. It makes welding far less of pain.

Astonishingly helpful company

This is from someone who dealt with Esab, Kemppi, Mosa, Lincoln, Miller. Not to say these brands are bad but R-Tech are at a different level with help!

A brilliant company and excellent…

A brilliant company and excellent staff.
I've been looking for a new welder for some time and saw that R-tech offered demonstrations. After chatting via email about which welder would best serve my purpose I booked a demo slot. The staff were amazing and incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. After the demo I knew that an R-tech welder was definitely the one to go for. I ordered my welder on the Bank Holiday Monday and it arrived Wednesday afternoon. Communication was excellent and the items were very well wrapped. From now on R-tech will be my first stop for any welding products.

I’ve purchased a few items over the…

I’ve purchased a few items over the last couple of years including, a digital mig welder 181, a manual tig welder and most recently a plasma cutter.
All I can say is rtech are a great company, the products are very good quality. I would highly recommend.

Terrible Service

I ordered several items, most were available for Next Day delivery, 1 delayed to the 1st March (fine). Items showed on the order as due Next Working Day - but there was no delivery. Contacted R-Tech, They had held the items back to have 1 delivery (frustrating, but ok). Order then delayed to 6th March (It happens). R-Tech use DHL who are crap, problems with delivery so I ask R-Tech for help ... they were useless and didn't care. I've now cancelled the order and will now have to wait for the refund - which I'm sure will take ages.

Bought a Mig welder and some…

Bought a Mig welder and some accessories from these guys. Called them for some advice and product info before-hand, and was impressed by the level of knowledge and polite help. Used the website to order the items, and found it super easy to use.
Amazingly the items arrived next day. The quality of the welding is miles better than the rubbish I had before (bought from a well known national power tool shop), and made me realise my welding was pretty good. It goes to show that bad kit can have you blaming your own skills.

R-Tec P30C Plasma

I sent my plasma cutter for repair and service, fantastic service from first call to return. They even offered to lend me a plasma cutter until mine was sorted. I would recommend R-Tech welding fantastic company and superb after sales a hastle free services from start to finish.

Unreliable and poor company

Horrible company, I paid for a compressor which they said was in stock, they said it had shipped with no tracking information, when I called the representative was curt and obnoxious. I opened a support ticket online, nothing. Just a crooked company, stay well clear of RTech. After I received my refund the managing director emailed me for a review... speaks volumes about this shoddy outfit.

I Contacted RTech today enquiring about a tig foot pedal

I Contacted RTech today enquiring about a foot pedal for my Tig welder they are the UK distributor for SSC controls as I've heard good reports about this pedal , I asked the representative would a ssc foot pedal be compatible with my make of welder told him about how the w plug is wired and qty of wires and what wires went on what pins.
He could not help me at all, bearing in mind they should know the specifications of the products they are main distributors and importers for ssc controls and at RTech they supposedly repair their products in house, so they should know that product inside out .
But what really made me angry was, when I told him that the only reason I didn't buy an RTech tig welder was, the make I purchased has a full five years return to base warranty .unlike RTech only has three years.
He replied It only comes into effect if you have the welder serviced every year.
I contacted the manufacturer of the welder I bought and was told by them that it wasn't true,
I don't need it serviced every year.
So the RTech representative was telling me total lies.
I do have a RTech mig welder.
But I can categorically say I will not be buying from RTech ever again.
Sour Grapes I say because I found a better product with a longer warranty and they didn't get a sale.
Shame on you RTech for telling lies.
PS I contacted Ssc control's in America they were so helpful was unbelievable.
Told them what I needed built a Tig peddle for me and shipped it to me directly.
And it was cheaper than buying from RTech

so I sent an email
within 20 minutes I had a reply from Ben
who as sorted it and sending me a new switch

Excellent Customer Service

My R-Tech 180 welder was not closing the gas supply solenoid valve when I stopped welding. Phoned customer service (Ben?), late yesterday afternoon (Thursday), he suggested it could be the solenoid valve and offered to send one out to me if I wanted to fit it myself. I was happy with that but he was apologetic that I had missed the courier collection and he would send out the next day (Friday)and use a Saturday delivery. Don't know how he managed it but it arrived today (Friday). Good service.

Had an oil leak in a compressor bought…

Had an oil leak in a compressor bought from here, at 8 months old. Took from 26 August to 7 September before anyone came out. I stated from the beginning that just to repair the leak would not suffice as the oil contamination was substantial and all throughout the receiver tank meaning I could no longer use the unit. R-Tech deflected responsibility onto the manufacturer even though trading standards assure me as the vendor my contact of sale is with them and noone else. As such it is their responsibility to reach a satisfactory resolution, I am not satisfied and there is no resolution, I'm left with a unit I cannot use after a few short months. I will be forced to make the same investment for the second time in 10 months, this has had a massive impact my business. It appears my review on ekomi that features on their web site has not been made available to the public, other reviews shortly before and after are posted up why not mine?

Un parallel service and product

I bought a ac/dc analogue tig. Amazing service being total novice to tig, they have been incredibly helpful. The service cannot be faulted. The product I've found equally good. So good has the product and service proven to be I bought a plasma cutter from them the very next week.

Brilliant Service

I needed an item urgently so I rang up to double-check it was definitely in stock (lots of other websites lie about this). I spoke to Aaron who was extremely helpful and even said he'd keep an eye out for my order to make sure it was handled ASAP. It came the next morning as promised, leaving me a very happy customer.

I have tried to buy a TIG welder from…

I have tried to buy a TIG welder from this company after a great deal of research. After deciding what I wanted I contacted them firstly by phone but just got left on hold. Then I tried again via their web form and asked two pre purchase questions but didn't get a reply. The next day I tried calling again but again couldn't get through so I tried around a dozen times to use their chat line again with no success. Then gave them feedback on one of their web based feedback forms suggesting they might do better to engage with sales enquiries, again no reply so I called them again only to be put on hold twice only to be cut off each time. Eventually I got to talk to one of their sales team who was abrupt & Kurt but did apologize for the difficulties I'd been having and he would reply to my messages strait away, he didn't bother replying. That was this morning they are shut now. Never dealt with a company who worked so hard to avoid dealing with customers at the point of sale. I wonder how hard it would be dealing with them on a warranty claim if their this bad when it's in their interest to interact? Not just bad astonishingly bad.
