Quizlet is a lightning fast way to memorize vocabulary lists. It's like flashcards, but much more fun and interactive.

YOU HAVE TO PAY NOW!?
YOU HAVE TO PAY NOW!? Wow, unreal. Used to use Quizlet in high school and college for studying, and it was always free, but recently I need to study for an upcoming job and I got halfway through my studies, and it told me to pay to "unlock" the rest, as if I didn't just make the Quizlet myself. Maybe I would understand for other people's content, but for something I made myself is crazy work. Very disappointing.

I used to use the website as a kid when It was fun/free to study and learn, it was one of the most helpful websites I genuinely enjoyed and now its some pay to learn bullshit sponsored AI bootlicker site in which you have to subscribe to literally use any good study tool. I can't wait for the boomer idiots who run the site to pass on so people my age can hopefully revamp the website and return it to its former glory because- news flash- you money hungry pedos- college kids and uni students are broke and cant get mommy and daddy to pay for their damn Quizlet subscription. I genuinely hate this site now and hate to see it fall into corporate greed.

i think its ridiculous that you have to pay to study now. A couple years ago that wasnt a thing. The fact that quizlet was free made it unique from everything else out there right now. Its just incredibly dissapointing. I cant use it for five seconds without getting a pop up ad. If you dont pay its simply not usable anymore.
Free Alternatives to Quizlet
I've been using Quizlet for years and recently decided to get back into studying with it. Unfortunately, the experience has been disappointing. It’s no longer the free platform we all once knew. After creating and studying about 20 flashcards, I was told that payment was required for me to continue studying.
I know I didn't just spend hours making a deck, that I have to pay to study (with all the work you dedicated to that deck ig they thought people would just pay up)
Not to mention, you have to pay to access other users’ flashcard decks as well.
I signed up for a 7-day free trial to see if the premium perks were worth it, but they charged me for a whole year before the trial even ended. Thankfully, Apple disputed the charge and refunded my money.
There are plenty of free alternatives that offer similar flashcard features without paying. If you’re looking for a free, straightforward study tool, I recommend exploring those options instead.

A lot of useful tools (like offline access and premium study modes) are locked unless you pay. For students already on a budget, it feels unfair to charge for basic functionality.
It doesn't work well!
I am in middle school, and I need to study a lot (Spanish). But I keep getting annoying ads, and when I study, it lags out so much. And I have to go on many different ones to get the words I need. USE VHL IDK. JUST NOT THIS CRAP! Quizlet +... why does it exist, everything gets limited, and I need to test myself, and I CAN'T, only once, my friend also got a virus from it. THIS SUCKS.
Absolute Garbage. Never use.
Absolute garbage. Useless if you don't have an ad blocker. This world is better off without it. I did 5 flashcards. I had to watch 5 minutes of ads. 5 MINUTES. THIS SUCKS. USE ANYTHING ELSE. QUIZLET IS NOT FOR STUDENTS. IT IS FOR ABUSERS. The stupid ads are inappropriate too. Never use this. Use your textbook websites, like vhlcentral.com for Spanish. WE are learning more about ads. I have never gotten past certain 10 words without it lagging out and crashing. I'm supposed to be studying. This is a better use of my time.

IT SUCKS
Just bought - Already have to upgrade to complete my flashcards. NOT WORTH IT
I just bought it and am trying to complete one set of flashcards I made for my law class. It consisted of 70 cards. It wont even let me get through it without spending more money and upgrading. Ridiculous
On top of that, its not like I reached my daily limit for flashcards- I REACHED MY MONTHLY LIMIT in 20 minutes.
DO NOT TRUST
Not worth the money, and closing an account is extremely difficult. I closed my account in November after my final exam, but they continued to charge my card even after the account was deleted. I had to close my debit card as a result to stop the billing on the DELETED account. Rip Off.
Auto-renew not asked for but used by Quizlet
My daughter enjoyed using Quizlet for her UK GCSEs, but then way after they finished we found they had auto-renewed her subscription, which she no longer uses. I've been in touch with Quizlet and they insist she asked for auto-renew, which she would not have done. I thought it was now illegal to put auto-renew on someone (and a child at that), but after several interactions this awful company has sent a 'final' message, stating the matter is closed. Well just eff off Quizlet, and now I will take this up with the UK's consumer association. Shame on you
Quizlet is a money grabbing company
Quizlet is a money grabbing company, not a study tool, if you attempt to use it as a study tool you will be very quickly brought to reality through the fact they limit practice tests, learning, and overall retention just so that you buy their most expensive plan, it is truly pathetic, a tool that claims to help, but stabs you in the back when you start improving unless you spend even more money.
Punished for studying too fast
I contacted Quizlet support twice with a very simple need: I just would like app not stopping me from learning.
They really threw "rate-limiting" errors while I was adding new words using UI.
Support then tells me my behavior is “abnormal usage” and that I should stop studying for an hour.
No bots. No scripts. Just copy-paste and motivation.
A learning platform that rate-limits learning and tells students to “take a break” instead of fixing backend limitations is absurd.
Deeply frustrating.
Completely discouraging.
Unacceptable for a paid educational product.
I was not able to study at all
I was not able to study at all! I had a huge Spanish test the next day and thought I was going to be able to study the 225 flash cards, but was only able to study 15 before it cut me off to tell me I had to start a 7 “free day” trial!
Website sucks
Keeps asking me to sign in.
Screw off, I'm not giving you anything
Your own blur feature doesn't even work, just copy it and paste it somewhere else to see the words clearly.
A Pure Waste of Time
Quizlet is a money-hungry and useless website.
I had heard that it was great for memorization, but I was told wrong. Almost everything costs money, and all of the good features that actually help you learn are blocked by a paywall. If you use the free version, you only have access to a flashcard set that has ads in the middle of it, which really disrupts my study flow. Not to mention, the website is not made for video ads. I have to sit at my screen for 2-3 minutes just for a 30 second ad to load, and more than half of the time, it crashes and I lose my progress on the set, or it just freezes and I have to close the tab. I’ve migrated to a different website called StudyKit, which is way better than Quizlet, and it has similar features that don’t cost money. If you’re considering visiting the Quizlet website/downloading the app, I’m telling you, don’t waste your time. It’s such a shame that an app that has potential had to be thrown down into the gutter.

#QUIZLETSUCKS
If I could rate this app a zero I would. In my opinion It shouldn't cost money to study you should just be able to do it for free. I hope this business fails all together. Screw you Quizlet!!!!!!!!!!
cash grab
I remember when resources like this used to be free and accessible, but now all anyone wants is your money. I can't get through five flashcards before being hit with an ad. There is no integrity to be found here.
Too many ads
Too many ads, importing can be very difficult, and sometimes it automatically formats or types things I did not. This is a terrible resource.
