Wonderful time in the Lakes despite the iffy weather! This was our first time using a campervan and won’t be going back to using a tent! Really great experience, our dog loved it too.
Loved Marion! she had everything we needed for our trip to Scotland, there was plenty of room for 3 adults and a medium sized dog, she ran like a dream and no issues with her at all. I would definitely recommend to have a trip in with her. She was so cosy and we used the heating once when we had been out in the wind and rain, but it heated up so quickly we had to turn it back off, such a lovely van
Giving one star as 0 not possible.
We hired a campervan after we had returned it, had it inspected by the owner and all the paperwork signed, the owner claimed that there was damage, we disputed it and quirky campers told us they were withholding our deposit AND charging us £500.
Absolute scammers do not use!
There are a million and one hidden charges that will only become apparent when your holiday is over. Customer service are unhelpful and I've been left in tears over losing money I can't afford to lose.
Firstly, the T&C's are outdated. You can't make any amendments within 30 days of the booking unless you have COVID. Which really annoys me, because there are other unfortunate unforeseen things that happen and prevent people from travel. We lost £362 because we couldn't travel due to our daughter being unwell. We offered to pay for the cancellation but was told we lost the entire money and would need to rebook different dates. Absolute daylight robbery. We understand there are travel insurance to potentially avoid this loss of money for hire (however, I'm not even sure if the cost of this would even get you a full refund) in fact the issue is having offered to pay an amendment fee for new dates that were available doesn't seem a big ask. As if we'd pay another £362 to hire a van that we may not even get to drive again with a company that is riddled with unfair and very sly terms and conditions. We was so excited for this experience which was totally ruined by Quirky Campers greed for money and no understanding of an unforeseen situation that wasn't COVID related. If you're thinking of hiring, I wouldn't bother unless you think the travel insurance is worth the money.
Emily is amazing! We spent time in the UK & Europe this winter and she was perfect. Great heating & hot water system was a real highlight in the Alps. Easy to find a space for and has everything you need. 10/10. "
My partner and I had the pleasure of taking a campervan to Cornwall for a week. We had a wonderful campervan called Hanoi which was owned by a very helpful lady called Wendy. I feel it was very unique! We had many people we encountered on the way enquire about it ,and wanting to take photos of it ( both inside and out ) . It was easy to drive ,I am a coach driver by trade,so I have experienced driving many types of vehicles ,and I am normally critical about one thing or another, but found no faults at all. The inside was superbly furnished and immaculate. She had clearly been thoughtful of customer needs ,right down to dust pan and brush and cutlery.😊. Despite grim weather, the campervan made up for this and was deemed home from home . Credit to Wendy for making our stay in Cornwall truly a memorable one. We will definitely be using her service again!! From Brian Krishnan and Tara .
Review specifically for 'Chip' - can't give zero stars otherwise I would. Last minute booking 3 days prior to intended departure. Confirmed late by owner when I had already found an alternative so requested a refund immediately. QC advised me this would be at the discretion of the owner (initially great customer service from QC themselves who endeavored to support). Chips owner immediately stopped responding to any correspondence, and then refunded just 30% of what I had paid (automatically taken by QC despite no actual confirmation from the owner) just a few hours earlier, stating 'now difficult to rent at such short notice'. For info, timings: booking requested at 0500hrs while I was on a night shift, confirmed at 1030hrs by owner while I was sleeping, cancellation requested at 1300hrs when I woke up. QC repeatedly stated policy is at discretion of owner, and then refused to allow me to write a review (despite paying 70% for a service I had not received), and again stopped communicating. Terrible service from the owner of Chip, would not recommend.
Awful.
Hired a van, paid £1,389.78, returned, £500 deposit taken with no informwtion or breakdown of cost for repair, replacement etc.
Fraudulent thieves.
