Deceptive, misleading and unprofessional

Booking was made for 9am to move apartment. I called and had time updated to 7am the week prior. First truck showed up at 3:30pm and refused to park! Second truck arrived at 5pm to move the furniture (10 hours late!). During the day, they continually lied to me about the time the truck would arrive. They then charged additional for carrying items up/down stairs, even though it was stated clearly on the quote request. A number of items they refused to move up the stairs, which I did on my own. Note there was no fridge or really heavy items to move but didn't stop them from complaining the whole time that everything was heavy. They damaged my couch, covered in disgusting black stains. Please use any other service, these guys are terrible.

Terrible communication

Booked a small job moving some furniture from upstairs to downstairs via their website as I could not book through the phone #. Got an email warning that they have a 3 hour window ie can 3 hours later than my booked time of 2pm. This did not work for me as I needed to go to the airport later that evening. Tried calling for 3 days, about a dozen times, at different times of the day. The line just drops out after pressing 7 to talk to a person. Cancellation was not an option unless you want to lose the deposit so finally I used the amendment link on the email to change the time to noon advising that I needed 1 hour notice as I did not live at the address. On the day I got a call at 10:30 saying they were nearly at the house. I told them I could not get there until 11:30. He said he would need to check with his boss. I said I would rush over and to confirm 11:30 after speaking to his boss (no call back). I got there at 11:30 and they were not there. I texted and called (the mobile # that the removalist called on) a few times no answer. They finally turned up after 1pm. No apology for ignoring my calls and texts. It took them 30 mins to move the furniture and cost me the minimum 2 hours, total $330.21 ( I did not realise GST and CC fees were not in the $295, my fault) and a lot of stress/frustration. The 2 men were strong and efficient but it was not a great experience as they had no consideration for anyone else's time or concerns.

WARNING DO NOT BOOK!

Quick Move caused damage to my property in the move. They acknowledged this, however refuse to pay for it.

I recommend anyone faced with an issue like this to make a complaint against them with NSW Fair Trading or alternatively take it direct to NSW Small Claims Tribunal.

DO NOT HIRE IF POSSIBLE - YOU WILL REGRET!

***DO NOT HIRE IF POSSIBLE - YOU WILL REGRET IT***

My wife and I have moved several times within the past 5 years, and we have never experienced such bad service.

The two removalists who showed up were extremely slow and unproductive. Usually, it takes 45 minutes to an hour to pack up our things onto the truck. These "workers" took 2.5 hours. To the point where my father in his 70s, my wife, and myself had to jump in and help to speed up the process. It was blatantly clear for us all to see that they were purposely taking their time, as they charge by the hour.

In the first 45 minutes, they barely moved anything. I kept wondering what is taking them so long in between coming up and down the apartment. On 2 occasions, I went outside to check on them and both times they were just sitting down casually chatting on the phone and having a smoke.

Then, on the way to the designated address to drop off the furniture, they got lost and couldn't find the address (even though I gave them the correct address).

I had to help them repeatedly over the phone, send photos of the building, and ultimately had to run around the street to find their truck, hop in, and then guide them to the correct address. They blamed the GPS, but when I asked to look at their map, they clearly had put in the wrong address.

On top of that, they worked from 9.30am to 1.50pm. Yet they wanted to charge me 5 hours. I said to them 'no, you have only worked 4.5 hours so I'm not paying you for 5 hours. This doesn't even include the fact that you were sitting around wasting time the first 2 hours, and got lost for an additional 30 mins'.

They actually got aggressive and threatened that if I did not pay for 5 hours, they would not load my refrigerator and washing machine (which they made sure was still on the truck).

It was so bad in fact, that I didn't even bother to ask them to pick up an additional item at a warehouse, because I was too afraid how long they would take or try to shake me down for more money.

It was a terrible experience. Moving is a stressful enough time, and to have to deal with these bullying and intimidation tactics is the last thing anyone needs.

Please learn from our misfortune and stay away!

Not impressed with this company.

I booked a 4.5 tonne truck. Something around the size of an econovan turned up. It wouldn’t have fit my couch and literally would have taken around 10 to 15 trips to move my house. I called the office and they said they’d send out a 6-8 tonne truck. A 4.5 tonne truck turned up, but they charged me the rate for the 6-8 tonne truck.
The 2 guys that helped with my move were both on their very first day, could barely operate the truck and were on their P plates.
When I called to pay the balance I was given a figure $50 higher than the rate I was already being overcharged for when I’d already rounded it up to the next half hour.
During this move, the back of my TV stand disappeared, my dead grandmothers table sustained 2 deep scratches across the top, and a drawer was smashed. The move took 2 trips as they were not experienced in packing a moving truck. I do not blame the 2 inexperienced young men that were sent to move me, I think they tried their best but had no idea what they were doing. My email to the company outlining my disappointment in their ‘service’ was ignored.

Completely unprofessional

- was moving 1 bedroom apartment with office corner
- Short distance move (Lidcombe to Ashfield)
- Move did not start on time and lasted 2 days

Absolutely terrible service. My moving was 2 days and would take more if I didn’t insist on moving my furniture for extra pay and multiple calls.
Moving (only furniture - no boxes) for 1 bedroom apartment with an office took 2 days (10 hours), on the first day few items were left in the old apartment - they said they don’t have a specific tool to disassemble a piece of furniture (it was a basic screw there). At the end of the first day guys just left my fridge and material couch just next to my new building on the street - as they said it is too heavy and guys who'll come the next day will move it for me. Even when I was not agreeing on leaving my couch (that I was easily carrying with my partner before and they claimed it’s very heavy) outside on the street.
On day two I had to give keys to my old apartment and they didn’t show up in the morning as promised till 4:30 pm. New guys were very fast to disassemble the last piece of furniture but then they didn’t want to bring my fridge and couch upstairs until I agreed to additional pay.
As result, I overpaid for the first day - paid for 9 hours when in fact it was 8, then paid a minimum booking (2 hours) on the next day plus extra - what a scam! Do not pay until they finish a job!!!! It took them more than 1 hour to drive from Lidcombe to Ashfield - even during pick hour it is a maximum of 30-40mins and it was not.

They also completely destroyed my 55-inch tv - I had to throw it away. Damaged my couch and brand new shoe wardrobe.

After calling to complain I was told I'll get a call back regarding the situation but they never called back!

Never received any invoice even when I corrected my email on the second day by checking each letter.

On my review on google maps, the response was absolutely unacceptable - rude and unprofessional.

Dates of the move: 27-28 May 2021. Were booked on the 27th so late arrival (booked at 1pm, promised to come at 4 pm, arrived at 6pm) is understandable on that day. The next day promised to come 11-12 pm, showed up only after multiple calls at 4:30pm).

Avoid them at any cost

QUICKMOVE = SLOW MOVE THEN EXTORT

AVOID THESE CROOKS AND FIND AN AFRA ACCREDITED REMOVALIST
afra. dot com dot au /about-afra

These guys will work as slow as they can to drag the job out:
- Carry 1 box at a time,
- talk on and use their mobile whilst they are supposed to be working
- Stand and discuss between themselves what to do, rather than pick up a box and take it to the truck
- Take the longest road route between your old and new house…(I have photo’s)
- Then before they finish the job, they will hold your remaining belongings to RAMSOM until you make payment for their EXTORTIONATE amount!!!!
- Physically stop you from unloading boxes from the truck and make you out to be the criminal.
No polite, “you have to pay the remaining fee before the last box is taken of the truck”, instead your goods are strapped into the back of the truck like hostage victims.

For a move that should have costed $800-900 given the number of items, building access and people on the job. We were asked to pay $2500.!!! WITH NO JUSTIFICATION….

When I challenged the ‘Operations Manager’ on the breakdown of the cost he refused to give it.
So I detailed it for him. Giving him a cost by hours calculation.
When I stated that the amount for the hours NOTE: 3-4 HOURS SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN OFF FOR THE DELIBERATE TIME-WASTING BUT WERE NOT) the amount came to $1500.

The ‘Operations Manager’ tried to refute this, so I kept repeating the breakdown, over and over and over……. until he realised he had been caught out!!!!

So, in wanting to just get rid of this crew of cheats, we paid the $1500.

THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST REMOVALIST COMPANY.
DO NOT USE THEM AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS OF THIS REVIEW!!
OTHERWISE THESE CHEATS WILL DO IT AGAIN, AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!

From all the poor reviews I have read here there is a smart and aggressive response from Quickmove where the customer is ‘mistaken’ in their claims.

====

Quickmove – if you are that good and you never do any of the things that have been reported by these poor reviews, go and do ONE thing to shut us all up.

GO AND GET AFRA ACCREDITATION!!!

PUT THE STOLEN MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS!!!!
I BET YOU DON’T GET ACCREDITED!!!

Never again

Never again! We booked for the move, expecting a 6-8 tonne truck with professional removalists. I couldn't believe my eyes with what showed up; an ex-rental Thrifty 4 tonne truck with 2 backyard boys, 45 minutes late!!! So, they proceeded to load the truck for the first trip. While they were unloading, one of them decided to damage a freshly painted wall (we had our home freshly painted) with one of our bookcases and they had the audacity to deny it after I saw what he did and they made excuses. I contacted their manager who said "we can sort this out, trust me." Yeah, sure. We have before and after pictures of the same wall after it was freshly painted.

And the same guy also damaged our dining table when he turned it onto its side to dismantle. We heard a loud snap and we thought there was damage. Sure enough, there is damage, a slight split on one of the top side edges.

Gee, I even had to tell them how to do their job. Like dismantle and assembling, how to carry a queen size bed up a set of stairs.

If we had heaps of time up our sleeve, I would have told these clowns to make a U-turn upon their arrival and to keep going and I would have called someone else.

There are a lot of 4 and 5 star reviews here. I went with this company based on their website and reviews. Unfortunately, because for the sake of submitting our review, they're lucky to receive 1 star.

After our horrible experience, I advise anyone to keep looking around and do some solid research.

All I can say about this company: ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC! The worst I have ever seen!

Astoundingly unprofessional

Do not hire this company! ‘Quick’ Move kept us waiting for over 11 hours, charged us extra, damaged our items, and did not and still has not moved all our items. Read the reviews about arriving late (including the next day), poorly trained workers, sending trucks too small therefore requiring multiple trips, and ignoring phone calls.

We moved a 2-bedroom apartment that should have been completed in about 7 hours maximum. We are now 55+ hours (3 days!) in and they have not completed the job. We had booked for 10am specifically with Ally but after booking they sent info that 10am means a 'three-hour window' (10am-1pm). We emailed Ally again to book for 10am specifically so that the movers could park legally outside and she assured us that the movers only had a small job before us at 7am and that the movers would work with us (implying 10am would be fine).

Day 1: movers arrived at 1.05pm for our 10am booking. Didn’t wrap/protect most of our furniture despite 4 requests. Dragged unwrapped mattress along ground and subsequently denied doing so despite both of us witnessing it. Chipped and stained furniture because it wasn’t protected. Kicked boxes and tipped boxes (including those marked fragile) upside down and on their sides and denied doing so (we have photos). Sent too small a truck despite knowing the size of our move and then knowingly left some of our possessions behind - in the first apartment and in the building foyer! Operations manager Sandro promised to send another truck the next day to collect our remaining possessions.

Day 2: I travelled 1 hour each way to the old apartment and waited 8 hours for them (12pm-8pm). I called and messaged multiple times and Sandro assured me they would come. They never came. They wasted 10 hours of my time. Sandro promised me they would come the next day. Said he would call at 9am with an exact time, with at least an hour to an hour and a half notice. Sandro did not put this promise in writing despite multiple requests and despite agreeing to do so.

Day 3: Marvin (a mover) calls at 8.50am and says that Sandro said if I cannot be at the apartment in 15 minutes, they can’t move our stuff. I tell him it will take me an hour by public transport and that I will contact Sandro. Sandro never replied. It’s after 7pm. They haven’t moved our possessions.

This is the briefest version I can provide and does not even include all the details of this 3-day nightmare. We’re going to Fair Trading.
